So, I searched for a nearby park and found Sladden. This is a great park with newer playground equipment, a big open field, what looked like a basketball court (?) in the far corner, lots of bench and table seating, and restrooms. Weight machines, free weights, bench and squat racks, group fitness studios, lap pool, basketball courts, rock wall and bouldering area, cardio machines, running track, TRX/free training area, outdoor tire flipping space, outdoor turf fields, and indoor/outdoor tennis are all options here. I feel that even at its peak hours, there are open weight machines and spaces to train (knock on wood that it stays that way in January). As far as the equipment goes, it's new and works great. I haven't seen a single piece of broken equipment in my month of training here, and I come five days per week. Additionally, there's a lobby with a huge TV for game watch parties. The staff is very friendly and helpful! If you go to UO, check this place out for your workout! I also believe there are guest passes available for sale for members of the Eugene/Springfield community.

They are open not only to the general public but to alumni, which I am one of. They should stop…read morewith that immediately, as they are clearly only concerned with their availability to the student population. They close constantly at the drop of a hat. On a Saturday closed at 2:30, 6.5 hours before their posted close, and 2 hours before kickoff of the game their spoiled, entitled brat student employees want to go to, or so they told me when I gave them feedback about the ease with which they close their doors when the schedule indicates they will be open. "I don't want to be here I want to go to the game" - a literal quote from one of the "employees" of this facility.

The Eugene YMCA truly used to be a great place, in the past few years it has unfortunately entered…read morea downwards spiral. I am saddened to say that this YMCA no longer prioritizes protecting the youth in its care, nor the staff they employ. Their new facility was poorly built and threw them into not only debt, but an urgency to make money back above all else. They throw people under the bus to protect the "organization" and no longer prioritize people over profit. Disappointed that it has strayed so far from a place of community. I would not recommend a membership here, and would especially not recommend you work here or enroll your children.

There were a lot of kids there but that's to be expected during winter break. The bathrooms were big and clean, as was the rest of the place. The front desk staff were super friendly and showed us where to go and set up a divider for us. There's a ton of parking and a traffic light next to the center so it's easy to get in and out of. I would definitely go back again during a quieter time of day.

We stopped on a road trip, from Portland to Grants Pass, to stretch our puppy's legs and hoped to get her some exercise and then sleep the next two hours of the drive. It was perfect. The Albertsons across the road does have bathrooms and a Starbucks.

It's very large park is located in south Eugene. Not when I ever visited as a kid since we lived in…read moreanother part of the town, but most of the park is grass there are a couple of tennis courts and there's also a Fieldhouse at this one which is unusual for Eugene Parks. There is a small playground, which seems to still have metal playground equipment, which is unusual since both of our transitioning to plastic. We came here for the splash pad, which looks like it's a pretty nice splash pad, but the problem is I couldn't figure out how to turn it on. The people for us had turned it on or had it on and they were playing in it but if there's a way to turn it on, I couldn't figure it out. It's possible that the park just closed it early for some inconceivable reason we left at about 645 and that's when we were able to get to work. The only parking around our street barking, but if there's a lot of it on the blocks surrounding it's a large, residential-area park.

With a toddler, honestly, this is mostly how I judge a park these days. There is a water/splash park area that is great for hot days, however. Parking is available only along the streets surrounding the park, but is plentiful.
