Course was in good shape, and the older gentlemen in the clubhouse was kind and made me feel very welcome for my first time playing here. Not a bad course for being a city-owned one (by the city of CG). It has some nice, challenging holes as well and a pretty decent pro shop. The only downside would be the noise from I-5 which goes down the middle of the course. Price was right and still had fun there. Worth checking out for sure. read more

I have golfed here a few times now and I can confidently say I will never be back. The older man at the desk is very rude. Everytime we have been here it seems like there is always an issue. The goose poop on the greens are nasty, the noise from the highway is loud, the pace of play is slow and there are homeless people picking cans out of the trash cans on the course. The course is only 30 minutes from our house so we would like to add this to our rotation of courses we play. However, I would rather drive an hour plus and enjoy my experience from the condition of the course and a decent staff than play here ever again. read more

This is a great 18 hole golf course right along the Pacific Highway. It's a beautiful and somewhat of a challenging course. With outstanding twilight prices $15.00 for 9 holes and $24.00 for 18. If your in a crunch for time you can play four holes for $5.00. This was my first time coming here and it was great. The greens and fairways were in great shape. The people in the pro shop were nice and helpful. The two hiccups are the tee boxes, they are a little run down and the golf carts coming off of hole 11 my cart died and they had to come get me another one but other than that I'm definitely competing back to play here again. read more

It's a short muni course. Super tight fairways, maybe 40 yards at the widest. Super long par 3s or super short. Either 200+ or under 100 basically. Greens are wet and spongy in middle of august. Makes the ball bounce a bit, but green so that's good. They are in good shape, but really slow putting. Run about 8 max. Fun place to get some shots in, but hard to putt if your used to quicker greens. read more

Great people, always work me out. Practice course where everyone can have fun. They have nice greens, tight cut fairways (little too in my opinion). Not a championship course just a great little track to work on your game. Drawback, no driving range. read more

Used to be an ok muni course, now they have a really rude staff (everyone changed), no cart maintenance, and they are not ok with novice players. The carts routinely die mid-course and go under 6mph. If you golf over 100 prepare to be hassled for "slow rate of play" even at 12-15 minutes per hole for a foursome. They have no stated rate of play and have problems with scheduling tee times properly so even if your playing great you'll likely be hassled. Frankly, the director (as of 2024) of the course is extremely rude and unprofessional, and it just rolls downhill from there. Be prepared to hear that you should be able to get it on the green quicker by all the staff. I recommend skipping middle field, there isn't enough of a savings to be harassed and abused by the staff that lacks basic human decency and has no articulated rules but just arbitrarily enforces their little fiefdom. I can define the employees as sad little kings of their sad little hills. It's a muni course, get off your high horse it's never going to be a professional course. read more

From I-5 you can always see golfers when driving through Cottage Grove. This is pretty much Middlefield Golf Course. It has a nice range and the clubhouse is cozy. They have a snack bar inside also. The course usually starts out going around some houses which can be nerve racking to some. The course then travels to the other side of the freeway and opens up into a more spacious area. One of the holes is this crazy par 5 where the shot "s-curves" around. Unfortunately, the first shot is in the short part of the "s". So, knowing how to fade and hook your shots comes in really handy on this one. It's a fun course though. Some of the greens crown or are concave, so it makes for some adventurous putting. It's almost like if they expanded a putt-putt to a full blown course. I would suggest this course from anyone from beginners to advanced intermediates. It's located right off of I-5 and just make two lefts and you should be there. Parking is never a problem. Most of the time, it's pretty laid back and the pace is good being outside of Eugene a bit. During the summer, I'd make sure to call to make a tee time though. read more

Friendly low cost course, with flat wide open fairways and very fast greens. Course is well maintained and executive in length. Be aware however that I-5 runs right thru the middle of the course making it a loud experience all over the track. read more

Great executive course. Lots of character, well-groomed course. The par-3's are long! Most of the longer holes present birdie opportunities (except #15!). The noise from the freeway and occasionally from the adjacent racetrack are the only drawbacks. read more

I like playing here. The guys in the club house and marshals are always real friendly when I go down there to golf. Sure there are a lot better courses around but for the money it's a good deal and you can take all skill levels golfing together and everyone can have fun. The guys do a good job of keeping the course in good shape and it's usually not super crowded. I think it's an above average course for the money. I recomend it for anyone looing for a casual day of golf and highly recomend it for new/younger golfers. read more
