Came to this wataburger on 05/25/25. The staff at the counter was very nice woman who was named Kathy. She was very accommodating to our special request. 10/10 stars. We stopped here on a road trip and left so disappointed. The line drive through line was typical for a Whataburger along with the wait, but to food quality was so poor. I ordered the 3 chicken strip meal and gravy was the consistency of water with no seasoning- inedible. The chicken strips were barely warm, but the fries were hot and fresh. The bread that comes with the meal was stale and flavorless, not even a little buttery goodness to enjoy. Worst Whataburger in America, and you can thank Managers Alex and Amanda for that! My family and I were driving to Austin and stopped by this Whataburger for breakfast around 6:30Am and had no idea what kind of experience we were in for. Alex (male manager) had an attitude from the moment we walked in, as if he would rather be somewhere else and not helping us. He was looking down for most of the time he talked to us and didn't want to accommodate a special order request. The request was simple, all my father wanted was a taquito with a chopped sausage patty and a shell egg. He's been getting this taquito for years at multiple Whataburgers across the big state of Texas and not ONE location has ever had an issue with making it for him. My father being from Corpus Christi (the BIRTHPLACE of Whataburger), I assure you he knows his Whataburger norms. Ha! The other manager, Amanda even went as far as to say that "it's against company policy to do that" and said she was going to go call the general manager to prove it. She walked to the back to do that and we never saw her again. She refused to come back out. My guess is because she was told that's actually not against company policy, and was ashamed to show her face again. Nevertheless, Totally unprofessional! What kind of way is that to show the customers that you care? On top of all of that, we ended up asking to be refunded our money after watching the male manager Alex, prepare all of our food with his bare hands after coming back and forth to the register screen. How disgusting. As if it's already bad enough that he was preparing food without gloves, when I pointed it out to one of the other employees, she stated that Whataburger employees didn't have to wear gloves because they are required to wash their hands twice. Wow. I soo wished she had not told me that. In order for them to justify their food preparers not wearing gloves (because they washed their hands), they'd need to wash their hands after leaving the food prep area and touching other surfaces, then returning to food prep. If not, that is foul and most definitely cross contamination, and that's what Alex was doing (register/screens are COVERED IN BACTERIA) . NOT OKAY! When driving through a small town you definitely expect warmth and welcoming vibes, and we received everything BUT! I would not give this place not even one star. the service was horrible. We love Whataburger but me and my family went here on Friday, March 25th. We were there around 10pm. We decided to dine in since we were on our way into Houston. It took them 5min to take her order you wouldn't think that was long however there was no one else in line they had three staff in the dining room on their phones playing games and watching videos. Really felt like staff here did not care about their jobs or what was going on they were just there for a paycheck. Just wanna remind everyone that we love Whataburger and occasionally might get some cold fries or something ; not a big deal easy to fix but this night was a nightmare. After they took our order they gave us drink cups so we went to fill up our drinks. One had a hole in the bottom of one of the cups, the drink was leaking everywhere. I want to still remind you the staff are sitting in the booths on their cell phones. no real help at all plus my wife ordered a sausage taquito but the egg was so salty you could not eat it. The tortilla was brown like they did not clean the grill, it seems like it almost had been buttered. It is something my wife orders all the time but the tortillas are never brown or dirty. My daughters burger was extremely greasy it was leaking everywhere. On top of that the gravy had clumps; it was powdery and doughy. I told who I thought was the manager, but still dissatisfied. We got a new soda cup no problem. They put cheese on the taquito the second time since they never put it in the first tawuito, but never change the saltiness. my daughter ate the greasy burger. Staff replaced the gravy and still looks like when I dipped my fries in it my fries had warts. It was so bad!! Please steer far away from here they need to really do some work in this Whataburger. read more

The girl at the register is more worried her hair than learning how to ring up a customer. Every table was dirty. Every! Table! Line to the door and still only one register open. Same chick at the register. Then when our food was ready, they tried to give it away to someone who came in after us! What's the point in having a number of you're not going to use it! We went into eat after a basketball game. We waited for 8 minutes and we're never acknowledged or have our order taken. My husband asked if we could get help with our order. He was told to get away from the counter and that they had the right to refuse service. This happened a couple of times before we got there. A woman told the guy at the counter that she couldn't hear him. He said he didn't work the front and walked away. As we were getting in the car after leaving the restaurant, one of the men from the back proceeded to lock the door so no one else could come in. So sad to see people working in a restaurant but not want to provide any type of customer service!! 4-5 families in a span of minutes ended up leaving. Don't even bother to stop at this restaurant. This was one of the sweetest, most kind Whataburger I've been to! From the moment you walk into the door the sweet lady at the register is saying hi and asking how I'm doing. Everyone seems to be in such great moods and all the staff is smiling! You don't realize how much of a difference that makes. Terrible service. Get to the people standing outside that take your drive thru order they are just having a conversation. Nothing work related before they finally take our order. Employee curses in front of my kid! Completely messes my order up. I don't even know what sloppy mess of a burger they served me. Grease literally dripping out the wrapper. Kitchen looked to be fully staffed yet the drive thru lane was almost out to the street and the service inside was crazy slow. Finally got to the cashier to make an order and the cashier walked away to start making drinks. After watching her do this for close to 10 minutes, we left. i LOVE wataburger but this was very disappointing! We waited a couple minutes for our food and the food was cold? Burger was cold, fries were very oily and my whole jalapeños looked like it had bites from it????? Chicken stripes were cold, looked old, TASTED OLD, fries were oily and black stuff all on it. The ladies working the morning I used the drive-thru were so sweet and helpful. I ordered a rather unique burger and they made sure to repeat it back and make sure it was perfect. I ordered the regular burger, but with hash browns instead of a hamburger patty! (Who says you cant eat vegan at burger joints?!) The burger itself had fresh veggies and the hash browns were crispy. Nothing bad to say here except for I believe the drive thru speaker is broken! The ladies had a hard time hearing me and I could barely hear them. All in all, sweet service and juicy, quick burgers. Do you like being yelled at and cussed out by an overpaid fast food worker because you go through the drive thru while their friend is at the window, and they don't want to work? Then stop at the Whataburger in Giddings! I got off thinking it would be faster then the drive through.. I left with Hungry kids and a headache. I ate at Whataburger for the first time while visiting Texas recently. My friend loves the place and prefers to eat it rather than any other fast food place. Knowing that raised my expectations greatly. I don't eat fast food much but if I had the choice I'd probably pick Wendy's or Burger King as my top options. Anyway, we stopped in while driving from Houston to Austin. I ordered a regular hamburger with fries and a Coke. First off, the soda wasn't Coke. It was either a generic version or they hadn't cleaned the dispensing filters. Whatever the case the drink wasn't all that great and most certainly wasn't brand name Coca Cola. The burger was decent. I got it plain with lettuce, tomato, pickles, mustard and ketchup. The burger was pretty big, fresh and hot. It was a good cut of meat too. The fries were good as well. I liked it but I'm not sure I'd be quick to eat there again. I would because there aren't any Whataburger locations up north but if given the choice I'd still stuck with Wendy's or another option. The service was very friendlly and professional though. The food was delivered to the table in less than 10 minutes and the staff inquired as to our comfort. That was definitely a nice chance because you don't get that kind of service at fast food resaturants in my area. read more

If you're heading to Austin, you're most likely going to stop around the Giddings 'area because 1. someone in the car is complaining about going to the restroom, 2. you need a stretch break, or 3. you are so damn hungry. If it's all 3, this is it place. Whataburger is nestled in with the other fast food chains. It is always packed and food comes out in about 7 minutes. I am a huge fan of their milkshakes because it brings all the boys to the yard and because it's basically ice cream with a straw in it. The food is always great and a good fill-me-up to get you on your way. Even though it's always packed, the restroom are relatively cleaned. read more

For a fast food burger, Whataburger has my vote, always. The food tastes the same here as it does in any other Whataburger I've been to. Fresh and tasty. The service was a bit slow, and one guy who came in after us got his order before we did. The girl running the cash register forgot to charge us for two patty melts. My husband had to tell her she missed one. I've never had a patty melt before, and I took a bite. It's not my cup of tea, but I can see why he likes them. The fries were fresh and nicely salted, as always. The only real complaint I have, is that the area near the drink fountain smelt of vomit. read more
