The servers were really friendly and welcoming and the main reason for the 3 stars. However, it took a really long time to order and a very very long time to get our food. My boyfriend and were passing town and stopped by to grab lunch. My burger was over cooked and rubbery and my onion rings didn't taste like anything. My boyfriend's schnitzel was good and the sauerkraut was delicious. The gravy they put on the schnitzel was very good. I do think there was only 1 main server on the floor with 1 other person assisting where needed. While it was pretty empty during my visit, I am pretty sure they had an unexpected rush that had cleared right before I walked in and that is what delayed them. We've eaten here several times for lunch and have never had a bad meal. The food is properly prepared, fresh, and bountiful. Everything, from hummus as an appetizer to burgers (big, filling, juicy), to pizza, to brats. It's all good! Sometimes, places down the street (not even close to as tasty) are busier and I do not understand why. The staff is friendly and helpful. We decided on Thursday to try this place out while meeting some friends. It's in a cute little town and has a lot of parking. Very nice location. The restaurant/distillery was very big and spacious. The waitress wasn't that friendly. I think she was working alone that night everytime we tried to call her we couldn't find her. She hardly checked on us. I noticed my green beans had a hair, another worker came and told us he took it off the meal which was nice but I lost my appetite after that. Overall I liked the appetizers more than the entree's. Trying to find a restaurant that isn't barbecue on a Sunday, especially Super Bowl Sunday can be very challenging in a small town. We were looking at some property in Lexington and came across Giddings Brewhaus. A quick call and they answer to say they were not only open but we're having happy hour all day long with $.99 wings during the game. The place was fairly empty and of course they had the game up on the big screen. All the patrons there were having a blast, critiquing the commercials. Great atmosphere. The wings were delicious and we tried several beer samples before we settled on full glass. The restaurant brewed its own beer which you can see through glass windows inside. We stopped in to try the place out. A gentleman in the back said have a seat anywhere. We decided to sit on the patio (since it was a beautiful day). We sat there for 20 minutes and no one ever came to take a beer order, food order or even bring water. So can't say what anything is like there but the service sucks! read more

Went here for lunch on a Wednesday around 1 PM. It turned out it was 75 cent wing day. I haven't eaten wings in years because they became so expensive and had very little meat. But since they had a plate of 10 for $7.50 this day I decided to give it a try. So glad I did! They were delicious and had a good deal of meat on each one. Ended up splitting with my friend. Good roadside stop as we headed back to Austin. I found it to be family friendly. They had high chairs and a changing table in the woman's restroom. Environment: The outside is nice and has a more "modern" look to it. The inside is nice as well but looks more like an old diner. We were coming through on our way home and were super excited to check this place out. we arrived and seated ourselves at the bar. It did not look busy but there seemed to be only 2 ppl working. we sat for the better part of 15 minutes and was not acknowledged or addressed. Finally one lady gave us menus and never came back for to ask drinks or anything. after 25 mins and not service and no even attempts at service we left. We made reservations for 6 people, for Sunday at 1pm. There is a sign at the door that says to seat yourself. It wasn't super busy, and our table was ready to go. As soon as we sat down we were brought drink and food menus. We ended up ordering two flights and a thin crust pizza as an appetizer. The pizza was crispy, hot and had delicious toppings. For lunch, we tried two different kinds of wings, a personal pizza, and two of the German plates. Everything we ate had fresh ingredients, came out piping hot, and was delicious. We also tried the pound cake with ice cream. (It was very good) After the meal, everyone said they would order the dishes again. The large selection of beer is brewed in house, with many large windows in the dinning area to observe the process. A growler can be purchased for $15 to take home and enjoy. There are thirteen, very large flat screen tv's on two walls and a MASSIVE projector for sports on the back wall. Outside, you'll find a lovely covered patio that you can use for private parties, tables with umbrellas in the grass and a beautiful fountain that's perfect for picture taking. Plenty of close parking. I can't say enough about the waitstaff, busboys, and bartender. Everyone was knowledgeable about the entire menu, beer, and wine. While driving home NW of Austin from our daughter's home in Houston, we decided to give this place a try based on 4 & 1/2 stars on Yelp. We waited only a .moment before being told to seat ourselves and the friendly server was there quickly with menus and took our drink order. The place was very clean and decorated like a sports bar with numerous televisions and various sports and beer themed artwork, etc. Behind the bar were windows into the brewery, and the gleaming stainless steel vats and fermentation tanks were visible. It was lunchtime, so my wife ordered the Buffalo Chicken Breast Sandwich with French Fries. It was huge and sumptuous, she loved it and took 1/2 of it home. I ordered their 1/3lb Burger with beautiful, very obviously hand-breaded Onion Rings. The meat was wonderful, I'm guessing Angus. I ordered it without cheese, and just as it comes with Mustard, Mayonnaise, Lettuce, Roma Tomatoes, Onion and Pickles. It could not have been better. The sandwiches were served with something that is disappearing from many sandwich plates and baskets: a pickle spear. Theirs reminded me of an NYC Half Sour so this boy from Brooklyn was doubley pleased. Lastly, my 5 yo Grandson ordered the Kid's Pizza which comes with one topping, he opted for Italian Sausage (he's been paying attention to. Grandpa). The 10" pie arrived generously topped and was presented with a spatula for serving. He left one slice which allowed me to try it too. The crust was thin and crunchy, the sauce was tasty and not overly seasoned as so many tend to do, the cheese was ample but not too much and the Italian Sausage was bountiful and wonderfully seasoned with fennel. I almost wished I had ordered a pie to go. Altogether, a really great Tavern Pizza, probably at least a 7.5 on the "Portnoy Scale". Although I am a lover and connoisseur of craft beers, my health at 64 no longer allows me to drink so I'll leave the beer reviews to others. However you like to say it: Pröst, Salute, Slainte, Chin-Chin, or Cheers; this place is not to be missed. read more

Went here for the first time with 3 young children. We were all very disappointed (after getting a high chair, settled and ordering drinks) when told that they were out of pizza and catfish, which is exactly what we wanted to order! In retrospect, we should have just left right then. It would have been convenient and much more respectful to their customers if there was a sign out front regarding these shortages. Editing my previous review. We haven't been back since this incident and don't plan to unfortunately, we had enjoyed the food and beer at our previous visits. We had ordered chips and salsa and there was a nickel sized shard of glass in the salsa that ended up in my mouth. Luckily I didn't get cut up or hurt. I notified the bartender, Carson. She was extremely apologetic and took care of our tab for the night - amazing customer service. What bothered me was that kitchen staff was not notified and the shard of glass was thrown away. She went straight back to working the bar. It worries me because I've brought my 1 year old here whose just learning to eat real food. He wouldn't have known to spit the shard out and could have been hurt badly. He eats everything we eat, so this could have been an even worse situation if he would have been with us that night. I will say that the customer service is always stellar, but safety of customers needs to be addressed with all staff, front and back of the house. read more

Haven't been in a while and tonight reminded me why. Waited 30 minutes for drink order. Food took at least an hour and sadly out of 6 of us , not one meal was good. Pizza crust was doughy and veggies raw. Hamburgers were scorched and schnitzels were small, etc. Service was awful. On top of that they added 18% gratuity. Oh well, we will NOT try again. Saturday lunch is meant to be a time for relaxing and reconnecting after a week of work. There is no better place to do this than The Giddings Brewhaus. For a full disclaimer, I am not a beer drinker at all, but I did try the four flight of different craft beers. Surprisingly I liked the Zoch Bock the best. The flavor was deep and complex. The highlight of our lunch was the food. We started off with hot wings that were spicy and addictive. I definitely liked mine. We then ordered the Rahmschnitzel plate with a side of pepperwurst sausage. The food was plentiful and tasty. The schnitzel was topped by a delicious onion gravy and our sides of German noodles complimented the dish perfectly. While we didn't sit outside, their patio area was inviting. So, next time you are stressed and need a place to relax and reconnect, come here! read more
