I stopped by midafternoon for my first visit. The store was not busy. I ordered a Whataburger and a small onion ring. I was told they only sold medium and large orders of onion rings so I chose medium. Dave ordered a Whataburger Bacon Cheese and small fries. This order was to go. My Whataburger was average. The bun was larger than the meat patty and the tiny amount of lettuce, tomatoes, and onions really made my burger not look appetizing and definitely was not pleasing to my eyes. As for taste, again I was not impressed. 3/5 The onion rings were soft and the taste to me was off. I believe the oil was old. I prefer crunchy onion rings. These were not good. 2/5 Dave's Whataburger Bacon Cheese was good. His burger tasted good. It wasn't overwhelming and not as good as other chains either the equivalent ingredients. 3/5 The small fries were on the soft side versus crispy. They were cooked in the same oil I suspect and had a carryover of old oil taste. 2/5 I was not overwhelmed with my visit. This location is open 24 hours. For shift workers, this is ideal and convenient. I will return again and maybe try breakfast. It is served for about 12 hours. Overall I give 3/5. read more

First time to the new Huntsville Whataburger. The food was good but the wait in the drive thru could have been much better. It's a little confusing at first because it appears they have two drive thru lanes. They had an attendant taking orders mostly on one side but did go between the lanes. We did not order at the menu speaker. The line was not very long yet it did take a considerable amount of time to get to the window and receive our food. If you order from the right lane, someone from inside will have to bring your food out to your vehicle. I got the bacon cheeseburger combo with a large soda. I was not expecting the large drink to be that big. The fries were fresh and burger was good. Make sure you ask for some spicy ketchup! Patiently answered my questions about the new chili products. 3 stars - There were two other couples in the restaurant. Both seemed to be waiting for their food and not very happy about it. The restaurant was orderly but I wouldn't say it was "clean". 2 stars - Didn't watch the time but waited long enough that we started talking about how long it took to get our order. The other couples got their orders. The food (burgers, onion rings and chili cheese fries) were served warm, not hot. The onion rings were not crisp and even the chili cheese fries were just warm. So many things were disappointing. The self serve POS system was a struggle to use. Part of the problem is I wasn't familiar with all the menu options. By the time I figured it all out I wasted 10 minutes and discovered I couldn't pay with cash. I gave up and called over a human and placed my order. The lady who walked around with condiments was very nice and asked how long we had been waiting (at 5 mins in). But when we got our food the burgers were mildly warm, almost cold, and cheese wasn't even melted. Fries were hot, but nothing special. Drink was fine. The good news is that they scored a 90 on the health rating while we were there, bad news is that they've only been open 3wks so not sure how they didn't start at a 100. I am leaving a three-star review because I've gone there twice and the experiences were polarizing of each other. The first time everything went well and the food was great and there was no hiccups. Today was my second visit to this Whataburger. I had hoped that my first visit was just a fluke, but today was much worse. We ordered a double cheeseburger, bacon avocado burger, fries and onion rings. We revived a single burger with no cheese, no avocado and no onion rings. When we called to report the error to the manager, we were told not to worry, "we don't have to come back again". What?!?!? Obviously they don't care about business. I came through the drive thru tonight around 12:30, ordering a spicy chicken sandwich, plain and dry. I clearly told the lady, but she either wasn't listening or didn't hear me. I saw on the receipt it wasn't put in correctly and I couldn't get her attention from the window since she was busy with other orders. So, I anticipated the sandwich would come out wrong and when I asked the cook if it was plain and dry when he went to hand me the sandwich, he said no. I told him politely that I wanted it with nothing on it and he said ok. He was nice enough. The lady comes to the window a few minutes later and says "So, do you want that remade or...?" I said yeah, because I ordered it plain and dry. She wanted the sandwich back and said "Well you didn't say that." as if I was lying. I told her I did and she said "Well neither of us heard you so" and told me to pull up so I can wait for the sandwich to be remade. I work retail now and have worked fast food before, I know it sucks, especially during night shift. But there's really no reason to get defensive and be rude when I was polite and tried to be clear, and you messed up. It's annoying enough to have to wait for an order to be remade, nevermind have the cashier blame you for it on top of it. Shitty service on her part, there's no reason for that.
