6 of us Stopped here on 5-14-26 on our way home to Texas after a week in Florida around noon. The men's restroom was locked and unavailable. The young man at the counter was having trouble with opening the cash drawer and left us standing there to go to the drive thru window to ask the manager, a woman, for help. He went back to her twice and finally she came to the counter-never addressed us, was joking with the young man, walked away. The young man then dropped his headset, at which point we walked out, as well as the customer in line behind us after seeing the circus going on behind the counter. Totally ridiculous behavior. first the good news: this store was open for lunch on turkey day while I was traveling across the state; the less good news is it's a whataburger :-\ yes, it's clean and orderly with attentive and efficient help without the annoying overhead but it's still whataburger... please understand that there's nothing actually wrong here, I've just never understood the raves and this visit hasn't moved the pointer much. the drinks start at 'big' and go up to 'giant' which may or may not be a good thing (strawberry coke anyone?) fries are normal in appearance but lacking substance; I prefer my taters in tot form or crispy from getting cooked just a little too long. my patti melt was fairly benign, the beef is barely adulterated and tastes of beef; two meats plus onions and cheese between lightly toasted breads. exercise due caution to avoid drippage as the burgers are moist even though they're not terribly fatty; drips are drips though and dry cleaning is inconvenient if not costly. read more

This unfortunately is the worst Whataburger I have ever been to and it continues to underperform. They get my son's order wrong every time and it has become a joke. The drink machine continues to be out of order and you have to wait for your drink to be filled from the drive-in window. The staff at the front counter is generally rude and uncaring. This location is straight trash when it comes to service. The workers are young and VERY unprofessional. We sat in drive thru for 30 minutes and eventually pulled up to the window to get someone to take our order. They saw us sitting there but rolled their eyes and continued talking amongst themselves. When someone finally came to the window, we were told they were looking for someone to work the drive thru. This Whataburger location was pretty awesome for us passing thru on our trip going back home to Texas. Everything was well stocked, clean, and food really good. The young lady taking my order was incredibly helpful, (sorry, don't know her name), very efficient and quick and got the job done. Awful experience. Filthy restaurant and bathrooms. Inattentive employees who were mostly goofing around. After placing our order, with no one in front of us in line, we waited over 20 minutes. Asked for a manager who just said she had to be in the back doing paperwork and made no apologies. She just said "So, do you want your money back?" We were on a long drive so waited a bit longer. When we inquired again we learned they hadn't even started our order. Got our refund and left after 30 wasted minutes. Not one employee offered a solution or apology. Renee was very helpful. I ordered and went across the street to get gas. When I came back in Renee was working on something else but she saw me come in so she asked me if I had an online order and I told her I just got gas and came back. I gave her my receipt and she personally walked back there and asked if it was ready and proceeded to go out of her way and make it herself. Renee went above and behind and was very helpful. We ordered through door dash, and the order was promptly accepted, and the order started. We received our order in about 20 minutes. It was hot and fresh. My husband got the Bacon and Cheese Whataburger and an order of onion rings. The onion rings were crisp without being greasy. The burger was a two-handed burger and very tasty. I ordered the Sweet and Spicy Bacon Burger and fries. The burger was just the right amount of heat mixed in with the sweetness of the sauce. The fries were a bit soggy but still tasty. This is the WORST Whataburger I've ever been to. I've been here probably 8-10 times (pre and during covid-19) and every single time they've messed up my order. I only keep coming because I love Whataburger and every other Whataburger has amazing customer service. However, the Whataburger at exit 1C in Vicksburg, MS is the complete opposite of the norm. From workers that laugh when they mess up your order to taking forever to prepare the food, I strongly recommend you skip this Whataburger and go somewhere else. To add to this disappointment I ordered a Large Dr. Pepper and I was given a room temperature 12 oz can. No offer of a cup with ice, No apology for not giving me what I order but I'm not surprised with the lack luster service of the Hall's Ferry Whataburger anymore. This rating is mostly due to the terribly slow service that we experienced recently on a Wednesday evening. Ordering via drive-thru was easy, but we waited at the window for over 20 minutes for a 2 sandwiches to be done. Meanwhile the line was pilling up behind us.. and customers were leaving because of the wait. Had we not already paid, I would have left and gone to the CFA across the street. Passing through on our way back home. Needed to stretch our legs so we went inside. This Whataburger was very clean and presentable but with no overpowering cleaning agent smell. Our order came out quickly and everything was correct, hot and fresh. But the real star of the show here is Wanda. She greeted us immediately with a smile and a "good morning". She was friendly and personable as she took our order and, as she handed our food to us, she checked again if we needed any ketchup, etc. While we waited for our order, we observed her helping other customers in her friendly way and she was patient and kind as a woman struggled to find change in her purse and had to run to the car for more money. OK, let me start with the bad and end with the good. The bad - the person taking our order didn't seem very happy to be there, to say the least. No napkins (it was just past the lunch rush). They were out of tea, which they were working on refilling. The good: The burgers. C'mon, it's a burger joint, and who cares if the server acts like they have a corn-cob shoved up their patoot when you can get good burgers. The fries were crisp. The chocolate shake tasted more like a chocolate malt, and that's not a complaint. I'm not eating this because of the food or atmosphere which would have gotten a 5 star. Kennadi our cashier was great and you could tell she was learning but had amazing customer skills. However, Rena or Reyna... whoever was manager or shift leader only person not wearing a name tag, was very very unprofessional and then could hear her going to tell everyone else and down play situation and attitude. so sickening to watch people like that not have any self control and then try and make themselves look like the victim. I was so upset. Obviously, there was an issue with a breakfast sandwich being made and not sold prior to us getting there. The manager basically pushing this sandwhich sell I said I'd take it, not realizing the issue... I changed my mind. The register girl being new obviously had to get the manager for help, the manager basically and laughably got an attitude right in front us saying "I don't know how you're going to sell that sandwich, but if you don't it's coming out of your paycheck". Are you freaking kidding me... such trash as manager or whatever she was. Leadership needs to be changed store #879... I can see why you're ratings are so low when staff is being bullied by someone who should never be in that position. No. No . No!!!!! Yes, I ate car takeout this week. The day was going too quickly, I was on my way to a funeral (9 hours r/t) and I needed something. Those ads that play for Whataburger reminded me of being a kid in mid-town back in the day and meeting boys to share the food and drinks. It was so yummy and the commercials are fabulous! It reminds me of the old Wonder Bread commercials that had me convinced that if I ate white processed bread I would grow overnight. So, I pulled in. They never let you look at the "menu" so I ordered a grilled chicken something sandwich. The service was excellent and the people oh-so-nice, I really like nice people. The food was fairly prompt and fresh. OK - It was drive-thru grub and nothing but filler. The folks took very good care of me. Will I be back?
