I've been a patient here for several years and never had any issues, but after my recent experience(s) here, will not be back. My main needs have really just been twice annual cleanings. I have been a fan of the office because they (at least used to) offer some evening appointments, which was great for my work schedule. After one cleaning, I'd typically schedule the next one as I was leaving ~6 months out. Unfortunately, for this most recent attempt at an appointment, this became an issue. After calling me in March to confirm a 6PM appointment on a Monday, the office called me back a few days ahead of time to let me know that, unfortunately, they had to cancel. I asked for alternative evening appointment times but was unable to secure one (when I asked for the latest available options in the day, the best I was offered was 2PM). I rescheduled for early April. I confirmed my new (now second) appointment a few days ahead of time, but again, two days before the appointment was contacted and told that they had to cancel. There was no acknowledgement that this was the second time this had happened, but hey -- it happens, right? My appointment was moved two weeks out to a Friday afternoon later in April. Today was the day of that (now third) appointment for an annual cleaning. My appointment was scheduled for 2:30PM, which I confirmed via their text and online services earlier this week. I blocked off work early (I work across town) to get to the office. I arrived 5 minutes early and waited for the patient ahead of me to finish up before getting checked in. When I finally was helped, I was told that my appointment was scheduled for 2PM. I politely disagreed and pulled up the confirmation email to show the time of 2:30PM listed, but was told that "Dr. Westphal doesn't normally scheduled cleanings after 2PM on Fridays". The individual at the front desk told me that my appointment had been moved. I was, I think rightfully, pretty annoyed. The person at the front desk went and talked to Dr. Westphal, who I guess confirmed he was unable to see me. There was little acknowledgement of blame for the issue or the fact that this was, in fact, the third such scheduling problem for what I assume is the most routine of appointments. The lack of an apology, ownership of the issue, or any flexibility when I was there in office spoke volumes. While I never ran into issues like this before, this was so blatantly disrespectful, unprofessional, and unorganized over the last two months that I will not be back. read more

I wish I could say this was a good experience, because I think the dentist and hygienist who work here are really nice. The place is just SOOO poorly managed and run. I have had 4 YES FOUR appointments cancelled or rescheduled by them because of Dr's traveling, calling out sick or leaving the practice and one time an accidental overbooking?!. In all situations I was called no more than 48 hours in advance or even day of, and I couldn't reschedule for MONTHS later! I would rebook months out then this would happen AGAIN! I honestly don't know how they stay in buisness. There should be some way to accomodate the patients you've cancelled on should circumstances arise- not pushing them out 3-4 months! Wild. Don't bother booking here unless you want to make plans, take time off work, get a sitter if you need one like I do, and have all of that need to be reorganized the day before. Not. This place has exceptional customer service starting right at the call to make my appointment and check to see if they take my insurance Hunter answered the phone and was very professional and thorough then my visit was with Dr Celeste Riggins who actually did the cleaning herself which is highly unusual as a dental assistant usually do the cleaning. This new Dr. RIGGS Literally dif the bare minimum for x-rays dental exam and deep cleaning. She did not go over my ecrays with me however charged my insurance $1326.00 for a comprehensive office visit! Minus the 2 quadrant deep cleaning for 385.00$ she didn't even measure mouth pockets nor bring any of the extensive 3d images up on the screen. She told me she was not going to measure all the pockets as it wasn't necessary. By the way, I have periodontal disease! Do not let them waste your insurance money on services not dine. I consider this office as scammers. I was going to get a full upper denture but changed my mind. They started billing me the full price of $3100 almost immediately. Never mind that they knew I had insurance that the insurance would cover most of the cost. The insurance paid them $2500 but they still kept billing me $31008 even after receiving the money. I am still being contacted by their finance company about the $3100 even 3 months later. I'm starting to feel like this is harrassment. read more

this place is a joke. The Dentist came in and talked to me for about 10min. she was rude. she and her team gasped and talked about how bad my tooth was. One lady said I want to see, I want to see really loud. Almost like I wasn't a real person but just a joke. Very sad and unprofessional. the dentist left my room half way through my appointment and said she will be back. I waited an hour then finally walked out. obviously I knew I needed work on a tooth , that's why I was there. I was looking for a new dentist because need work done. But it won't be there. Get some bedside manner. I would never trust them. This does not include Miles. He was the only good thing about the place. He was the only reason I stayed so long. If I could give 0 stars, I would. This place is a complete scam and will begin performing unnecessary exams just to boost your bill with them (and they won't even run it pass you beforehand). This goes for xrays, basic cleanings, "routine" checks, etc.. Not to mention they make you wait 45 minutes, even with an appointment, to get started and then will continue to make you wait when you get to the exam room. There is price switching, they charge you based on what your insurance WONT cover and will not inform you of any of this during or at the office. Such a positive experience at Wheat Ridge Dentists with both the staff and with Dr. Alyssa Ruili. I was able to schedule a cleaning very quickly and the appointment went so well. This was my first visit to Wheat Ridge Dentists -- I originally figured it would be just a one-off cleaning, but I was so impressed that at the end of my appointment, I went ahead and scheduled my second appointment. Like most people, I am no fan of dental visits but this was one of the best ones I have experienced. If you want a thorough, professional, kind dentist and staff, look no further. read more

Money Money Customer Beware!!!! Before giving you any service, this place will make you pay up front based on their estimates of your insurance coverage. The problem is that their estimate is way off, like 4X more. That means, by the time the insurance settles the claim, Wheat Ridge Dentists will collect more than they are entitled to between you and insurance payments. For example, if the total discounted billable amount is $1000, you paid $600 day1 by assuming insurance will pick up $400. It turns out insurance pays $700 or $300 overage. Because I rec'd a statement that I still owe, so I stopped by to find out the reason. The lady looked at her monitor and assured me that I owe nothing without providing any explanation. I insisted that I need to get a printout as a backup, to avoid collection attempt later. She was a little hesitant and finally said that "the insurance overpaid". I repeat "so, the $300 owe to me". She did not even want to phrase it clearly! I went from I owe $18, to I don't owe anything, to I am owed $300 in one conversation. Warning Pay attention to your statement. There are hidden msg with creative accounting presentation which is not easy to follow. You may be misled that there is still a balance due. They don't apply all payments together but ambiguously choose to separate yours vs the insurance. In my case, I am lucky to question them in person and recoup my $300. read more

I chose this dental office because they have affordable options for patients like me who dont have dental insurance. I was able to get x-rays & a cleaning for a low cost as a first time patient and the whole experience went smoothly. Scheduling was easy and soon as I arrived I was taken back to the room without having to wait. My cleaning was fairly quick, easy and relatively painless. I thought that Dr. Westphal gave my x-rays a thorough examination and was gentle during the cleaning. In my past experiences, the dentist usually pops into the room for less than 5 mins to talk about the x-rays and then the dental hygienists do everything else. That wasn't the case here, Dr. Westphal took his time explaining things and it never felt rushed which was great. read more

The office is super clean and comfortable and Dr. Eric Westphal is great! For a standard cleaning with xrays, you're in and out in 30 minutes. Went in for my cleaning and was forced to wait 30 minutes for the dentist to finish another cleaning. Once she began mine, she absolutely tore my gums apart and said "sorry" about 15 times. I have 0 cavities, no gum cancer or disease. I woke up the next morning and my gums still are bleeding/have dried blood. I will not be returning. read more

I have gone here twice for a tooth extraction. Both times I've had problems. They don't care about the amount of pain you're in prior or during the procedure, or after. I had to come back two months after an extraction of a molar for remnants of my tooth. I've worked in the dental field for 12 years and I saw the x-ray. The doctor said that it was dry socket. No evidence of that at all I know it was a part of the tooth left in there. I left crying in excruciating pain and no pain medication after 2 stitches and 45 minutes of agony. No one should have to deal with these people. Go to a certified oral surgeon! I would never want anyone to go to these people! They don't care and I am seeing what my options are for litigation. It saddens me to have to write this and can't believe I even have to. But on Monday 8/9/21, I went in for a tooth extraction. After an hour of waiting past my appointment time, I could sense the doctor was being rushed and running behind with a lobby full of people waiting. He did not even introduce himself. Dr. Momin then extracted the WRONG tooth. He pulled my wisdom tooth which was totally fine. Clearly he did not consult with the dentist or look at my charts. He did inform me of his mistake and I then proceeded with the correct extraction as I was already there and having an infected fractured tooth at 32 weeks pregnant, I wasn't going to do this again. They refunded me my out of pocket expense but I have not even received a follow up call to see how I am recovering or additional apologies, next steps or further compensation. I'm only able to take Tylenol being pregnant and now have double the healing to deal with and double the pain. read more

Completely phenomenal place. I showed up extra early for my appointment and the dentist cut his break short to help me even though I told him not to. He was very calm and thorough in the whole cleaning, he shared what he was doing and told me what to expect. They explained everything so well from procedure to payment. Plus the place was clean and new and didn't look dirty, used, or old at all. Absolutely no complaints. They're definitely my new dentist! Made an appointment for my son but work would not let him off so I called to reschedule. Spoke with Dawn who said that Saturdays were only for emergencies. Asked her if my son's half-cracked molar extraction was an emergency and she said yes. Asked her if I could schedule for Saturdays and she said no. Said Saturdays were for emergencies. Wouldn't explain why I couldn't schedule for Saturday. If this is how they treat their NEW patients, it's a wonder they have any business at all, because I explained when I called the first time that we were looking for a family dentist in the area. read more
