Not great overall experience with trying to confirm when my appointment was will update if they rectify the problem

Wow. I don't think I've ever seen a review of ANYTHING that gets this volume of 5 star reviews. So I'll just add my 'unique perspective'. I was born into dental hell. No tooth enamel, a genetic defect. I started in heavy duty dentistry at age 7, I'm now 67. I know from dentists. Crowns, root canals, endo work (old school, tissue removed from the roof of your mouth..etc), extractions, teeth that grew in sideways and grew into my jaw; you name it. I've had more novocaine shots in my mouth than you've had meals. I've had mean competent dentists, nice incompetent dentists, cruel and kind dental hygienists, I could go on but won't. There are Ferraris inside my mouth, unfortunately some others dentists are driving them, not me. Three years with these folks, always a great experience. Diane at the front desk, the doctor, everyone. New hygienist (to me) Eva today, just awesome. It was almost fun. Almost. He gives you solid information and options, never pushy. Today, because I procrastinated after 10 days (ok, a year or more...) of denial and pain, I learned he's gonna have to bring out the big guns. C'est la vie. This is my guy for the work. I don't think you'll find a better dentist or staff, anywhere. read more

I love Dr. Sprout and the team here. Jen is my hygienist, and she's super thorough and careful. They're knowledgeable, efficient, and incredibly friendly. All this coming from someone who used to need to be sedated to have ANYTHING dental done, that's saying a lot. Not sure where the negative review from Stephanie G. is coming from, but I've only experienced the OPPOSITE -- I've never been pushed to talk, spend money, or waited for hardly any time at all. read more

All I can say is screw these guys. No call back. No follow up. Just a desire to start a dental plan, when you want a cleaning.

Inefficient and inhospitable In advance of the visit, and again day-of, I let the group know that my schedule was limited, and that I had a max of between 1-1.5 hours for the initial visit. When I arrived for my 9am visit, I waited for 25 minutes before being called back. They let me know that they would need 2 hours for the entire visit (not sure if that was counting the 25 minutes I spent in the waiting room...), but that they would do their best to accommodate my schedule. They proceeded with x-rays, then moved on to the cleaning. During the cleaning, the hygienist lectured me about flossing and gum disease (typical topics, but definitely a 1-sided conversation). When I didn't reply more than a few words (this was mid-cleaning after all), she stopped the cleaning and asked me why I wasn't talking more. I replied that I'm not one to have a conversation during a cleaning (she said "sure you can, lots of people do it"), and that given the time crunch I'd rather her focus on the cleaning rather than the talking. She then told me: "I don't think you'll be a good fit for this practice then." When the cleaning was over, I was ushered out, with no word or visit from the dentist. They hygienist mentioned that he glanced at x-rays and that "they looked fine." However, I'm slightly shocked that given the limited size of the practice (he's the only dentist I believe), the open floorplan (there aren't any actual rooms from what I could tell), that he couldn't take any time during the 1 hour + that I was there to introduce himself, apologize for the wait, or address the misunderstanding around scheduling. It's clear that they insist on 2 hour visits because they need plenty of buffer time (read: patient waiting time), and if patients don't have that type of time available, they maintain the waiting (i.e. my 25 min initial wait), while skimping on the actual dental services. read more

I am terrified of dentists, so when my kids' dentist recommended the Genesee Dental Group and said that he sends his own family there, I thought I would give it a shot. It's a 40 minute drive for me, but I don't mind a bit! It's twice a year, and worth it to see a good dentist, in my opinion. If you know where the buffalo herd is, off of I70, that is where his offices are located. The views from the chair cannot be beat, it overlooks beautiful mountain areas and trees. The whole office staff was very friendly and understanding, they explained everything they were doing and reassured me. The cleaning was good, and the dentist didn't try to get me to do a bunch of stuff that I didn't really need. I would recommend this to a friend, for sure. read more

I can't recommend Genesee Dental any higher. I've moved around the country quite a bit and Dr. Sprout is an amazing dentist. I just had an extensive, complete cosmetic makeover and his attention to detail was incredible. He would spend so much time with me, discussing options, colors, styles and choices. Answered every question in detail and most of all, I never felt rushed (That in itself is rare these days). Everyone of the staff all take the time to get to know me, always say hi to me by my name. They are like a big family and it shows they care so much about every patient. Genesee Dental is a rare find. I can't say enough great things about them! read more

This place is freakin awesome! I sent a message to them online, and Jennifer called me and was able to fit me in for a cleaning and for them to fix a chipped tooth in the next week and a half so I could get these things done before my wedding. Dr. Sprout did such an amazing job filling in the chip in my front tooth. I just kept looking at it in the mirror when I got home thinking- "dang he did good!" And I really appreciate how engaged he was. He seems genuinely interested in his patients. Today I went for my cleaning, and Sarah was great! She didn't make me feel bad that I hadn't been to a dentist in over 3 years (or that she had to clean around my permanent retainers on both top and bottom which I'm sure is annoying to have to do). Jen at the front desk is such a kind and genuine person. She explained my insurance coverage well and is just so calm, warm, and friendly. I also met the sweet dog today who is there with them during the day!:) how awesome is that?!:):) The biggest original perk for me was the proximity to my house. OMG! I've never been happier! Although it's a dentist office I came for Botox and Fillers. Not only did he fix a botched job I had gotten done in Denver but it was painless and turned out amazing!! Excellent care, painless shot, drilled for new crown. Great staff! Have been patient for years and would highly recommend! 1/9/2019 Was referred for emergency root canal to another provider several months ago. Was still experiencing daily pain. Went for my 6 month check up with Dr. Sprout today. Within minutes he found an issue with the tooth height, filed it and the pain was immediately alleviated. Have been crying in joy and angry that I waited in pain all these months. I HIGHLY recommend him. Thought it was something I would just have to live with and they said NEVER to wait more than a week or two if I have pain. Boy howdy will never live like that again. For years I went to a chain-practice in Lakewood; and each visit I had to prep myself for the sales pitch. It seemed there was always some "coloring", or "shading", or "potential for a future cavity" their dentists would discover. And I have good teeth. I understand profitability ratios, and sadly, that my time in their chair was expected to 'extract' a maximum return $. It was a great relief to sit in Dr. Sprout's chair and not feel the pressure of an impending sales pitch. I'm sure they still make money, but possibly the old-fashioned way through good service and loyal patients. If you call during after-hours, the doctor's cell phone number is on their voice mail message. Who does that anymore! One other thing, they have a very nice view. You get to look out at the pines and all these hummingbirds flitting about the feeders. read more

After spending many unhappy years in countless dentists chairs, I found Dr Sprout at Genesse Dental. That was 10 years ago and I'm so thankful to call him my dentist. My entire mouth has been fully restored and I couldn't be happier. Not only is Dr Sprout an expert, but this staff CARES. He is a perfectionist and it shows in his work.
