First I must say we have boarded our dog before but I had never felt so comfortable leaving her as I did this time. The owner is super friendly and has a well maintained kennel. She was very thorough during the drop off process. She sent photos and videos while our dog was there. Also very responsive to texting me with updates. I highly recommend as this place is awesome. I love this kennel and so does my dog! We've taken her 3 times now, and I have zero qualms about leaving her with Shari for any length of time. The outdoor space is clean, safe, and huge, and Shari does a great job of making sure they have fun with the other dogs. My dog has a bit of a complicated food (not just dry food) and I have no doubt that Shari follows the directions and feeds her appropriately, even with many other dogs to care for. The kennel itself has no bleach or "dog" odor, and is heated and cooled. I literally could not feel better about leaving our Harley there and I'm so glad to have found Wheatland! It is well worth the beautiful 20 minute drive from downtown. read more

I won a two-night stay through a silent auction and thought I'd give Wheatland Boarding Kennel a try. I was very hesitant, as my dogs are my babies and normally they have a dog sitter at our home. Marsha sent me all of the paperwork in the mail as soon as I booked, which gave me plenty of time to get my two pups' vaccination records together for her. When we first arrived, I was very happy to see a nicely fenced-in grassy area where the dogs can run and play. The kennel area was very, very clean (read: no pee smells!! Yay!) and all of the dogs being boarded seemed happy to be there. Fast forward two days to the pickup...we arrived to happy dogs who got to play, play, play all weekend! They weren't locked in their cage 24/7, like so many other places. I would 100% recommend this boarding kennel! read more

Shari and her facility are phenomenal! I was a bit nervous about having to leave my 6-month old pup for out of town travel, but my experience with Wheatland Boarding Kennels has completely eliminated any of my apprehensions. The facility is clean and features both indoor and outdoor kennels, as well as a large play area. Shari takes precautions to ensure she meets all dogs to check vaccines/temperament before accepting a reservation, so I knew my shy girl would be safe. Shari also went above and beyond to send me a few videos during my time a way to give me the comfort of knowing my dog was having fun playing with her newfound friends. We had a trip planned in August and had no idea what to do with our then 6 month old Airedale Terrier puppy. I called every kennel in town. I visited several kennels. I fell in love with Wheatland Kennel during our preliminary visit. Our Airedale had a fantastic 6 day stay. He was excited to return this week. If the puppy is happy, momma is happy and relieved.
