Oh my goodness!! What an amazing market! From the varieties of vendors, to the food, to the layout -- I see why this market gets so much attention. If you can't find a reason to visit this market, make on up. Whether you're in need of produce, flowers, food, meal prep, gifts or just a reason to get out of the house. I was most surprised by the amount of quality textiles, jewelry and clothing. There were a lot of oohh's and ahhh's while walking these booths. You have your typical farmer's market vendors but then so much more. I have to give honorable mention to Eternal Buzz Coffee. The wife and husband duo, Rachel and Vito, run this amazing nonprofit. This booth was too hopping not to notice! They were not only whipping out amazing authentic British scones and real Italian roast coffee drinks, but they were passionate and so very genuinely kind. I go here at least once every year. I don't remember it being this crowded from previous years, but I appreciate that it seems like they are trying to spread everyone out and make space. Every year there also seems to be more vendors added. Prices are pretty high but that's to be expected at markets. There's plenty of free street parking and a parking garage nearby. There were three vendors selling coffee, multiple bread/pastry vendors, fresh produce, empanadas, toasts, two flower vendors, multiple jewelry vendors, clothes, frozen fish, crepes, lemonade, cheese, sooo much to find. If you go later in the day, most vendors will probably mostly be sold out. At 1pm there was still a lot left though. Today I got a vanilla cold brew from Activitea ($7), a cherry croissant from a French bakery I forgot the name of ($4), and sourdough loaf from Momma Bear's Bakehouse ($11). read more

The Wheaton French Market is back and in full swing! I visited mid-morning and it was packed! There seemed to be even more vendors than previous years and I saw some new offerings. Vendors are throughout the pavilion space as well as all along Liberty Dr next to the pavilion. The market is family and dog friendly and I highly recommend parking in the Willow Avenue Garage. read more

This was my first time here and this is the biggest market I've been to on a Saturday morning. The other farmer's markets were small compared to this one. We didn't park in the garage, plenty of neighborhood parking. It's a short walk. We bought some items and also some food. Some of the food was food but just overpriced. The Italian ice was good on a hot day. It was from Chills and it was about $8. Everyone should buy a coffee cake from the Coffee Cake Guys. It's very moist, slightly crumbly, and light. We tried the cinnamon cream and lemon blueberry. It was $21 on site but it was worth it. We tried the meat pies and while they are good, I found the prices ridiculously expensive. It was about $14 each. I felt like for that price, it should be huge. Overall, it's a good way to spend about an hour here. read more

Amazing selection! We got bread and pastries from two French style booths. The boulangerie had amazing baguettes and a nice loaf bread selection. The French nuns at the St Roger's Abbey booth had some delectable pâtisserie selections. (I can never turn down an almond croissant) Didn't try the macarons or Madelines but they looked good. There were a few other booths with French style clothing and bags and a crêperie with a 30 minutes average wait. Several booths you would see at a normal farmers market: vegetables, other bakery items, and drinks:tea, juice, coffee, etc. They also have a few booths with Italian treasures: spreads, giardiniera, vinegar and oils, etc and a Transylvanian Bakery. Prices were not outrageous but definitely wouldn't be able to shop every week. Had some food trucks and live music. You could definitely make a day out of it. read more

This is hands down the best farmers market in the area. There are so many different kinds of stands, everything is very high quality, and all the different vendors are always super kind. It gets very busy and can sometimes feel crowded, but it's worth it. My favorite stand here is Heritage Prairie Farms stand, they have some of the best entrees and soups and are usually serving samples. Both the flower stands are great as well. From the butcher fresh meat, the farm fresh produce, to the freshly baked pastries and breads, there is so much to get here and it's all amazing. I come here pretty much every weekend during the season they're open. Hours are 8-2 usually! You just feel good walking around this place. read more

Super crowded and very large market with a large variety of vendors set up in downtown Wheaton. Parking can be challenging even with a nearby public parking garage so bring your patience. Between strollers, walkers and wheelchairs you might get your ankles bruised but you are sure to find something to nosh or take home although expect to pay premium prices for artisan products. read more

OBSESSED!!!! Shout out to my Yelp Elite friend turned into IRL friend Miranda T. who introduced me to Wheaton's French Market (Open Saturdays during April - Oct from 8am - 2pm). I have been here twice now and everything about it fills me with so much joy. This farmers market is by far my favorite 1 that I've been to within the Chicago burbs. The vendors are plentiful - Baked goods, coffee, tea, ready to order food, produce, clothing, jewelry, soaps, hot sauces etc. DON'T SKIP ON THIS PLACE BECAUSE IT HAS IT ALL. Parking can get tricky if you come past 11am, there are parking garages close by and I highly recommend taking advantage of utilizing them as they are free 99. Some of my favorite vendors are the Rustic Road Farm and Ari's Flowers. Rustic Road Farm not only sells fresh produce but also sells soups, dips, pesto and baked goods. So far I've tried the jambalaya and pesto spread and I can't wait to come back and try other items. Ari's Flowers has so many beautiful bouquets and are reasonably priced. I've had my bouquet for almost 2 weeks and my flowers are still alive and thriving! The 1st time I was here was around 10am and the 2nd time was around 11:30am - I highly recommend visiting this market earlier in the day vs later. By 11:30am a lot of items were sold out. This was such a fun experience!! The traffic was crazy at 10am already, and the parking garage was hectic, but it was still worth it. There were soo many people at the market that I was nervous everything would be sold out. Fortunately, the vendors know their stuff and there was still plenty of items available for purchase. The asparagus was soo sweet and tender, the avocado toast was fresh and delicious, the jalapeno/cheese scones are delicious, and the flower bouquets are beautiful and reasonably priced at $14 or $16 depending on the vendor. I went with my mom and kids. We enjoyed the patties and breads that were available. My mom loved the assortment of fall flowers from the vendors. My daughter found a slime booth and had fun choosing colors and glitter. Vendors were friendly and efficient. I stopped at a shop in Wheaton and when I was paying for my items, the owner of the store asked me if I had gone to the market. I didn't realize there was one happening, but it was only three or four blocks away (I would have passed it on my way out of town) and I have been meaning to get to a farmer's market to get some in-season strawberries; luckily the stars aligned and I was able to find a spot on the other side of the train tracks from where the market was in full swing. This isn't simply a farmer's market, because there's folks selling pre-made wares as well. However, you'll definitely find the typical farmer's market fare like fruits and vegetables, lots of beautiful plants, sauces and oils, baked goods, and so on. There was entertainment in the form of a man singing when I was wandering through. I bought a bag of frozen Pozole from a company called Xacho--actually, two bags, one verde and one rojo. Can't wait to try it! There were pastries from St. Roger Abbey (yes, actual nuns) and though I didn't have one myself I understand they were delicious. I stopped at booth called Mima's Toast and ordered an avocado toast to have for lunch, and it was delicious. They use high quality ingredients and it really hit the spot. I'd highly recommend them if you visit, and if avocado toast isn't your thing you can have a grilled cheese or toast and jam. I did get my strawberries, and they were delicious. Nothing can compare to strawberries from the San Joaquin Valley but these were sweet and so much better than what you'll get in the store at any point! read more

This market is the biggest one I've found yet in the suburbs and my favorite so far! It is also right next to the downtown area so you can get breakfast or lunch before or after! The market only has a few food options for while you are there compared to other markets I've been to but since it is walking distance to downtown wheaton I don't see that as being a bad thing. I usually like to pick up flowers, nuts, bread, beef jerky, fruit, empanadas, soup, caramels, and chocolate. Just to name a few things! It definitely is a popular market and can get crowded. It usually is more crowded in the morning. However, if you go later things will be more picked over, especially the flower vendors and a lot of the fruit. It is open until 2pm on Saturdays. I appreciate the late hours given how big it is and so I can go to other stores downtown. read more

Seriously the best farmers market I've ever been too! I wish I lived close enough to come every week (my bank account would differ) lol but when I come to the area once a year it's on my list of "must do"! They have quite the variety of items from produce, honey, soap, maple syrup, cheese, baked goods, breads, pasta, flowers, dresses, etc. This trip we bought: crunchy pickles, relish, soap, Italian cheesy bread, garlic olive oil, a new purse, 2 strawberry lemonade shake ups, huge croissants- 1 filled with chocolate, one with strawberry cream cheese, 2 large coffee cakes- one chocolate peanut butter fudge and one cinnamon cream cheese, my husband paid $4 to have bis pocket knife sharpened, and fresh huge peaches and blue berries! It's packed so gotta push through a crowd to get anywhere which sucks... and it's open until 2 which is awesome! Definitely check it out if you're in the area!! read more

Bought bakery from the French nun, I could've broke windows with the banana bread and the croissants, not fresh at all. Bought tomatoes from two different stands, Costco tomatoes have more taste. Donuts from another stand were a joke. Extremely overpriced and overrated. Quite honestly save your money and time. read more

They are getting close to the end of the season, but this year they have been located on a north-south street just a block east of their usual location. I wish this could be the permanent location. Booths were spread out and it was sooooooooooooooooooooooo much easier to navigate. Today was actually the first time I have been able to get close to some of the regular booths because they were not obstructed by bodies. This market is sizeable but very cramped with narrow walkways jammed with people even on a rather rainy day. There was some produce but also a lot of other stuff: jewelry, french tablecloths, bedsheets, pickles, honey, seafood csf, baked goods made by french nuns, lemonade, and so on. I just didn't care for the crammed-in vibe, however. Also, signs said, only service dogs or dogs in carriers and no one was following this. Would check out another market next time. read more
