I wanted some strawberries (as did my strawberry fanatic of a toddler--a girl after my own heart). So we packed up and headed to Tom's to get some. No interest in U-Pick, thank you, though they do this throughout the season (check their instagram for info on when they are allowing U-Pick). It was a fine place but I'm not sure if I would make the trip again. It was an hour drive and we got our strawberries, walked around a bit, and left; all told we were there for maybe 20 minutes or so and I don't think it was worth the drive. I'll probably pick up from a farmer's market instead, unless I'm nearby. They have more than just the produce here, as there's a little gift shop area on the one side of the building that has gift items, children's toys and clothes, and more. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They also have a counter where you can order food, and a nice outdoor area to eat at.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I will say that what I REALLY appreciated was that it wasn't a farm carnival, as some of them are now with rides and lines and parking that's blocks away. This is a more straightforward farm stand, which is what I wanted.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Chipped serving plate. Ugh.

Tom's is a busy place with good reason. They have plants, flowers a huge variety of gifties in the gift shop, deli type food packaged to go; pasta and chicken salads and desserts, as well as others, and a small restaurant that has sandwiches. I bought some plants and went in to have a little lunch after that. I ordered the tuna melt and chips and just had water to drink. They bring it to you after ordering. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Had never been there before but they have a nice clean area with tables to sit and eat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The tuna salad was good, about 2.5 stars worth of 5 though. It was made with very mushy not chunk tuna at all and was on white bread not toasted in the least. The cheese was melted but you couldn't taste it from all the mayo in the sandwich. The bread had a very chewy outer crust that made biting into it rather messy as the sandwich mushed out all over. It had red onion and celery to provide some crunch but overall the texture just didn't appeal. I guess I was expecting a firmer toasted bread and more firm tuna. I wouldn't say it was bad but you definitely should eat with a fork and knife. It was big, I'll give it that, so 1/2 sandwich would have sufficed. You can order half or whole and I should have ordered half. It wasn't awful, just not my cup of tea. Everyone working there was friendly to me. Oh and bought two sugar cookies cutely decorated for spring to take home. They were enjoyed by the grandkids. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Forgot to delete one star for the chipped plate it was served on. Should not happen.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great place for family events at holidays and festival dates.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Fall is especially fun for a large play area for the kids.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Farm fresh produce including sweet corn, tomatoes, peppers and all sizes of pumpkins. The only negative would be the expense for families.

A pack of half dozen apple cider donuts available year round.

We invited 2 seniors after morning mass today. We all ordered their 1/2 sandwich & 1/2 soup of the day. (Loaded pepper soup). Everything was flavorful! The soup itself was very filling. The sandwiches had well balanced ratio of meat and bread. We had blueberry pie for desert. (I bought separately from the store) I was so surprised that the pie was not overwhelming sweet! This is now my favorite pie of all time!!! On our way home we couldn't resist but take home 1/2 dozen each of their famous apple cider doughnuts that were still warm from the oven.

Fantastic fresh options, bakery and deli inside. They had fresh you pick sunflowers but could only make a quick stop. Everyone was very helpful and I was greeted by the cutest furry staff member. The store has a variety of boutique items, fresh baked goods, fresh picked fruit and seasonal vegetables. We have been shopping at their farm stand located in Bartlett but finally made it to the home stand. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside was well organized and buzzing with happy shoppers taking in the smells and the scenes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommend

I wish every city had a Tom's. Tom's Market has everything from gifts, candles, baked good, fruits/vegetables, dips, decorations, and more! It's our family tradition to go here during Thanksgiving. We get the apple cider donuts, shop around and buy stocking stuffers, and have lunch in the greenhouse. We also buy our Dutch Apple and Pumpkin pie from here for our Thanksgiving dinner. They have a soup and salad deal for lunch which is the perfect amount and so tasty. The butternut squash soup is to die for. They have a great selection of plants and flowers to shop for as well. Tom is occasionally around and is so friendly and wonderful. They also sell fresh wreaths as well during the holidays. Tom's will always hold a special place in my heart as it's a little piece of home.

Love Tom's unique events! The Sip n Sunflowers is a must-try when in season. Tickets cover entrance into the event, two samples of beer/wine and the cutest welcome bag with a charcuterie tray and glass to use during the event. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The sunflowers themselves are BEAUTIFUL![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Walk through the fields and you can discover fun photo spots as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Their strawberries are truly the best I've ever tasted!! Check Facebook for the most recent updates if you plan on coming here! Do not rely on their Google page or their website for hours. Typically strawberry season starts early to mid June but it seemed to be delayed this year. I've been checking their Facebook everyday since early June and eagerly waiting for a day that finally worked out for me to come!! They advertised that strawberries were very limited the day I planned on going, but we filled an entire bucket in about an hour or less and we even got there 2.5 hours after they opened! I was so happy it all worked out. I just love the simpleness of this farm. There's no large attractions, big food court, or commercial feel to it. People pretty much just come here to pick berries then leave, which really keeps the crowds down too. Their farm allows for a peaceful activity to take your mind off of busy life for a bit and spend some quiet time in nature. They do have a small shop with a few souvenirs and other items, plus some small snacks such as chips, but they mostly encourage guests to bring their own food and enjoy a picnic on their picnic tables! I loved petting their little rabbits too. They were so friendly!!! I appreciate that they do not charge you until after you are finished berry picking. I've been wanting to go raspberry picking here as well, so I picked up three baskets. I was getting tired so I decided against it and was able to return the baskets easily. Overall amazing family-owned farm that I hope never changes and I can keep coming back to every year!

To me, it's more fun when there are significantly more people around, and during peak summertime when there are plenty of strawberries, red raspberries, and black raspberries, that is the most fun and, in my opinion, worth the higher price. Off season both strawberries and raspberries are not going to be very sweet. It's rare for me to find black raspberries just in general, so that is a major draw for me returning!! It is so much fun to pick your own berries and such a fun outing for families and kids! They run a tight ship about making sure people stay in certain areas before they open up more, so I can see how that can be an inconvenience for some. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my first experience and I definitely recommend a visit!!!

Always wanted to go strawberry picking, but every year we miss the picking window…read more This year we finally went. Chose Stade's based on reviews, availability and location. It was great and would definitely go again! Pricing is fair. They require a $7 minimum per person. It wasn't a problem for us because we chose (2) 4 quart buckets. As of June 2026, 1 qt was $7, 2 qt $14 and 4 qt was $20. I feel their pricing is fair esp given the price of berries recently. They provide the buckets that you keep. You can either take a trolley, train (extra charge) or walk. The field wasn't too far about 10-15 min. We opted to walk both ways. The strawberry fields were pretty big. I highly recommend coming early in the day because it gets busy and the earlier you come, the bigger the berries. They stagger their plantings so it stretches the season longer. They also have lettuce, radishes, cilantro, raspberries and sugar snap peas this weekend. Everything except sugar snap peas were a separate charge. All of their pricing is on their website and their Facebook page has their availability for the day. Strollers and wagons are welcome, but no dogs. The market is worth checking out. They had meats, pies, gifts, donuts, drinks and some produce. I highly recommend the strawberry lemonade slushy. It was refreshing after a couple of hours in the sun. The strawberry donut was tasty, too. It was moist and tender and not terribly sweet. Will definitely be back next year for more strawberry picking. We may comeback for other pickings later this year.

We picked Cody's farm because there wasn't an entry fee, it wasn't too far, and someone picked up the phone when I called to answer all my questions. You purchase an empty bag for picking apples before starting. A bag costs $30 and holds ~ 30 pounds according to them which works out to $3 a pound. The weather was nice and it was plenty of apple trees to pick from. There were only a couple of other people picking apples while we were there. I imagined these huge trees with apples high up to reach for, but all the trees were around 4 to 5ft. There was several very long rows of different apple trees to walk up and down. I am now convinced to get an apple tree for my back yard since the size isn't huge. The farm had play areas and activities for children so it is a cool place to bring the kids. We hit the store and I bought apple cider donuts that just happened to be really delicious. Most of the produce and products seemed to be a little pricey, but I'm thinking everything is supposed to be organic so the prices are mor. I would definitely return and bring little ones if I had any to spend a day out here.

So I love Amish products, they seem so legit and "farmers market" without the hipster markup, amirite? So this new place was initially very intriguing and unusual... I think this storefront used to be a pre-prepped meal kit place, like the home delivery stuff being sold now over socials... Anyway, the store seems more like a eastern euro (Polish?) Business reselling Amish items. Prices seem well below retail on the few items they carry but produce and such fresh items are only passable and look to have seen better days. Dairy, bread and canned goods are interesting. Due to lack of preservatives the daily baked bread seems to go stale by end of day, so I got the inexpensive French mini loaf tossed in for free. Was planning on Air fryer toasting that into crostini anyway... so score. The drop in a star was due to the iffy customer service. Older lady needs to down some sugar and not shoot dour looks at me, not the best impression on a new customer..., the other lady seemed friendlier but should probably chill on long convos in Polish while a customer is standing at the register to checkout. Might be back, next time I'm in the strip mall for curiosity... but Woodman's has Amish items too.
