Oh my gosh, why do I keep going back here?!? This time the surrey bike we rented was in good condition(!), but the customer service was horrible. I'll spare my fellow Yelpers the story, but just know that it got to the point where I asked the employee for his name and he refused to give it to me - which means he knows he was in the wrong. Not a great experience. Website made the operation look a lot better than it was. We rented 3 E-bikes (not very good models) & 1 hybrid. The guys at the rental were rather indifferent. Helmets to choose from were dumped in black bins. Some of the helmets were broken and old. Not great for a critical safety item. One in our party had to return her e-bike because she ended up very uncomfortable riding in traffic especially with the weight of the bike. She returned after 20 minutes, Not refund, partial refund, or credit...just indifferent. Our advice is to try another place for a better experience. read more

False advertising - sign states after the one hour minimum rentals are prorated in increments of 15 minutes. If you paid for more time up front however they do not prorate to reimburse. I recommend paying for 1 hour and return later. With a free 15 minute grace period then prorated for every 15 minutes. They punish people for paying upfront and returning early. Kids bikes won't fit average sized child under 6 or 7. Also warning - the surreys have no gears. You will pedal endlessly and barely move. read more

We come here every year and always enjoy our experience. You can ride through the neighborhood to get to the bike path on the beach. I would suggest a helmet since there is a lot of traffic if you are visiting during the summer months. read more

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE. They do not track the time right and are extremely rude . Felipe the cashier claimed the time we asked about rentals was the time our clock started. We returned 50 minutes into our 1 hour rental and were told we were 30 minutes late. I showed proof of time as we had a timer set and was told we were liars. When I asked for the cashiers name and to speak to a manager I was told "uhm no". In a completely rude and condescending tone. Felipe needs to learn customer service. Extremely rude , there are better , local companies that deserve your business read more

We had so much fun bicycling! The rate for 1 hour is $40- which is reasonable. We got lucky that one was available for our group. We biked and got lost, the map doesn't justify and was a bit confusing. But that's ok, we were able to bike around and look at the beautiful homes. Wish we could of biked on the side along the beach. Like how Monterey, CA does it rather than on the busy road. I would come back and do this with the family again! read more

Took my son and nephew to Coronado and rented some fat tire e-bikes here. The bikes were great! Pretty fast. The batteries lasted all 4 hours of continuous riding. The website says you get a discount if you book them online, but you don't. I paid more than I would have if I paid when we rented them on location. But I guess you may risk not having the bikes reserved? read more

3 stars for the actual bikes, 4 stars for the value. Easy to find in their new location, the bikes where a bit beat up. Mine had a weird cranking sound every time you pedaled. Value though for $8 an hour (and actually we got an hour free if you look on their website and book by noon), was a great deal. We pedaled all around and even passed another bike shop renting at $25/hour. Was a fun thing to do and glad we went w this bike shop. It as a bit harrowing to ride around with all the cars...it was more congested than we thought it would be. read more

What a fun day this was! The girl working at the little booth was super sweet and showed us how to work the surrey. We got the one bench, which fit me my husband and our 11 year old. But only two can pedal. Then our 4 year old sat in the front seat which she thought was the coolest ever! Our of other places on island, this place was one of the cheaper places per hour. They have a map on the bike for places to go. It was a great way to get a workout and to see the island! read more

I rented an electric bike on this second trip to Coronado Island. OMG, well worth it! It is soooo easy to go uphill, your speed and effort are boosted and it made it a pleasant ride all around. Tino Mendez helped us - very polite and pleasant and very accommodating on explaining how to use the electric bike. You must wear a helmet with the electric bike as you can go much faster. There are three speeds - eco, medium and high. On eco, you get your full workout as it is minimally boosted. I left it in high - shamelessly lazy! You still have to pedal, it just made it much easier. It is $20/hour and we did three hours to ride out to the end of the Coronado beach (west side of the island) and then to the Cays, all the way to the peninsula. It's also a must to visit Hotel Del Coronado - so elegant and classy! They keep your license as a means to make sure you bring the bikes back. $20/hour, better than the regular cruiser bike which is $20 for the entire half day, but remember, you have to pedal! read more

Really easy to stop by this business to get your gear and head out to explore the island! The cruiser/basic bikes were $8/hour, and as you get the more advanced/more features bikes, they go up in price. The bikes were good for their price, but my bike seat was a little shaky when going over bumps. I would also like to see the bikes being cleaned/wiped down - a couple had returned their bikes right when we were going to rent ours, and the employee simply gave us those two along with the rest, without really checking up on the bikes. He only asked the previous owners if they had any issues and that was all. Probably will come back one day to rent other kinds of bikes for a different experience! read more

Simple spot, great price. The two guys out front were super helpful and friendly. There was a bit of a wait but they apologized and greeted everyone. My mom is 65 and they let her try out a few bikes prior to renting so we could ensure she was comfortable. Definitely going to be my go to spot. read more

Do not rent the big bicycle with numerous people. No matter how hard you pedal there is one speed and it's SLOW. Also, all the bikes are rusted and brakes squeak very bad. The trails along the Coronado bridge are beautiful and give views like the photo attached which is why i'm giving this a 3 star. read more

Good: Great bikes! Bad: they need more adult helmets. However, it was July 5 at noon so they were probably absolutely overrun.

The attendant was nice. He may somewhat come off as if he doesn't care, but he's alright. He's just there to do a job. I personally wouldn't want that job. WE RODE THE 4 SEATER BIKE. I only give it a 4 star because I didn't know where we could go on the bike. I asked the attendant, and he just said stay off Orange Ave. I tried to show him my map, and I still didn't get a warm and fuzzy about going on the board walk. We had gone too far down and realized after all that hard work (it was a work out lol) that part of the beach didn't allow the bikes. Long story short, the map of where you're allowed to ride the bikes is on the bike itself where the wheel is. Even crossing the street to go towards the beach though, it just seemed as if we were the only ones that has ever done that - by the looks of how ppl were looking at us. It was really a workout for us. There's a steep will to go to the bike trail along the main road that goes down to the park by the bridge, but to have to come up that hill again - ROUGH. read more

We were rented a broken bike. It became progessively worse on our ride to the point I thought we would need to walk the bike back. We cut our time short and returned. Upon returning the broken bike which was a less than fun experience, the employee could have cared less about our experience with the bike company. He said write a review. That was his response to the situation. It would have made us feel a lot better if he had acted like he even cared about our experience. with the bike. He said the employee that rented it to us was suppose to check the bikes condition out before renting it to a customer. My advise is make sure the employee checks the bike out and isn't just sitting there behind the counter. It's a great concept and I would highly recommend riding around the island sight seeing on a bike. read more

Had a terrible experience here. Me and a friend got two bikes for an hour and 45 minutes but after a few minutes of riding it was obvious that the bikes they had were very old and slow. They were also very poorly maintained, and within 30 minutes of biking one of the pedals started to get loose. We started biking back but the pedal fell off! We had to walk the bike the whole way back and wasted a ton of time that they would not refund. 0/10 would recommend, they really need to upgrade the bikes that they rent out read more

Very poor customer service . Rented the electric bike and less than a mile into the ride the bike stops working. Being that we had a schedule to keep and were already heading to our destination I continued without the assisted pedal. Mind you, when we left the employee checked for a full battery. Upon returning, I explained that I was unable to use the assistance of the electric bike and had to self pedal. When requesting the employee to just charge me for a regular bike, he refused and claimed that I still used the hour. I explained the circumstances but he insisted that I could have turned around and returned it. It honestly wouldn't have been worth the $8 to return the broken bike with the timeframe I had out here. Honestly, there are plenty of places to rent bikes from...needless to say, I wouldn't return. If I have l armed anything in my own businesses, it's that little minor efforts of custodmer service go a long way read more

Came out to Coronado for a fun day biking around the island on Saturday! Stopped by one bike rental shop and they were closed...found this place down the street and they were very helpful! We rented one bike for my girlfriend and they were able to pump my tire back up for me as well. Prices are very reasonable...especially for the area. Nice selection of bikes, no fancy shop, a stand that looks more at home on beach front area. Service was adequate and rates were more affordable than others we saw being 1.5x more. Area is flat for easy ride. Be careful of people and shared roads with cars. We rode under the Coronado bridge,thru a park, the harbor with downtown San Diego skyline, marketplace and past naval base. You cant sites all in one area that is super bike accessible and no inclines. read more

This seemed like a great place to rent from at first. When we got the there though, we waited for a long time to be helped. When we were finally up, we requested 2 E bikes, a cruiser and 2 kid bikes. The worker said ok and made us fill out a bunch of paperwork. After all that, he then said the only bikes available were 2 kids bikes. No apology at all, no other solution or care that he agreed to our request and made us fill out all the paperwork, but never delivered. It's not like he had to go back and look at his stock, all the bikes were right there. But he said, after all that, that they didn't work.
