Rented a bike here and honestly this place is awesome. One of the best bike shops in San Diego for sure. The staff was super chill and helpful, pricing was fair, and the whole process was quick. If you're visiting Coronado Island this is honestly one of the best ways to enjoy it. rented bikes yesterday for my friend's birthday, and after only about a quarter mile, her basket fell off while riding, nearly causing her to crash. We then discovered my bike had the same issue. Since we were already about a mile from the shop, we secured the baskets using the bike locks so we could continue. Unfortunately, that meant we couldn't lock the bikes and had to skip all of our planned stops. When we returned, the employee acknowledged that he was already aware of the basket problem. While he offered us a discount, which we appreciated, there was no apology or real concern about the safety issue. Our biggest concern wasn't the money--someone could have been seriously hurt. Known equipment problems should be fixed before bikes are rented. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I would not rent from this company again. read more

Went here on a Wednesday afternoon around 630. Rented 3 bikes $10 each for an hour. Had such a fun time biking around. We biked to Hotel del and back. Loved that had a map so you knew where to go. Only one of our bikes had a bell on them so I think that was my only complaint about the experience really. Such a scenic, easy bike ride though. There are a lot of bikes here and the line to rent was long. The line did go fast and the guys were super friendly and helpful. We rented two e-bikes and rode a good distance checking out a lot of places. We ended at Coronado brewing and parked the bikes at the bike racks outside. It was a lot of fun but to be honest my bike was pretty beat up and wobbly. I love to ride and I can still have a good time on a Janky bike! read more

My friend was teaching me how to work on my turns on my bike, she is pregnant and her tires were super low on her bike, so in a way he helped ensure safety for many lives today. Don't use a credit card! I rented 2 pedal-assist bikes in April and they charged me $130. That was fine. Then, later that day they charged me another $130. The guy at the shop said that it does happen sometimes, and that I'd have to speak to the manager. I've spoken to him and emailed him 3 times. He said he'd have to get the owner to fix it. Here it is July and still haven't gotten a response. Go to another bike rental shop! These guys are worthless when it comes to customer service! If there's a problem they will do nothing to help you. read more

What a fun experience! Second time renting bikes but first time here. They have something for everyone. My family and I came party of 5 adults and one child rented a 2 bench. They charged $20 for 30 mins and $35 for an hour. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The workers wore masks and provided hand sanitizers. They sanitize the bikes as well. They do collect your credit/debit card info before you ride off, you won't get charged until you return the bike. They also provide a map that you can use as a guide for trails. The 2 bench was so much fun, pedaling can be a challenge even with 4 people pedaling it was definitely a workout. Beautiful scenic routes. Highly recommend and would definitely come back. read more

I took in my Brompton in for a tune up which cost $135 for labour but was charged an additional $32 for installing the inner tubes for both wheels. Isn't that part of the tune up ? And if not, is everything beyond essentially oiling the chain an extra ? When I picked my bike up the rear wheel was flat and I was told it needed a new tyre but why wouldn't I have been told that before hand ? Plus the hinge bracket had not been lubricated even though the tech must have unlatched it several times to work on the bike. And it wasn't exactly clean either. So I had to leave it and come back again wasting my time. The Manager offered a cursory accommodation of the tyre at cost which hardly compensated an hour of my time, gas, parking and no concession for my position that a tune up should include the 2 minutes it takes to insert the inner tubes not $32 which is a blatant misrepresentation of effort. The customer service was just terrible and I would go elsewhere if you've taken the time to read this review. read more

This was such great fun! We got to Coronado via the ferry and wanted to go visit the other side of the island and decided to bike over instead of walking or taking the bus. In comes Holland's! They had competitive rates and close to the pier so we decided on the regular bikes for a half day ($25). They offer a map of the island and gave us the pointers to not go on the main road as there is a lot of traffic. We decided to go down B Street and returned on D Street. Let me tell you, D Street was so much better as there was no traffic and easier cross walks. To get to the other side of the island was 1.25 miles. Holland's also provides a bike lock for free. Service was quick and friendly. Make sure you ride around a bit in the parking lot before getting in the streets. It has been over 10 years since the last time I rode a real bike & it took a bit getting used to! The bike also seemed a bit top heavy so it was weird to steer. Next time, we're getting a Surry! Most recently I needed a tandem bike for a couple to rent (They were on a treasure hunt ending in a proposal). I worked with Shawn (Sean?) and he was fantastic. My husband & I came here for my birthday & rented out 2 cruisers, best decision ever! They have 2 locations in Coronado, this one is next to the ferry. Be aware that there is also another bike rental place in the area. I chose this one specifically because they have baskets that can hold my small dog. The basket has holes but they provided lining for free. We had 2 young guys helping us & they were so friendly! I am short, & one of the guys was so patient in helping me find the right cruiser that he took out 3 for me to try. Thank you! They have cruisers, tandems, electric, surreys, & more. Cruiser--$8/hr They also recommend paths. We took a nice, easy path from their location to Hotel Del. At first we were like no way after hearing it would be 6 miles but it was easy breezy! read more

Great place to rent bikes in Coronado for the day. The staff is nice and friendly, and they provide locks and helmets upon rental. I would have given 5-stars, but my bike was a bit on the wobbly side. Also, they swipe your credit card information on a carbon copy (holds the bike and later shredded); but is probably not the best business practice since your entire credit card information is exposed during your duration of your bike rental. My suggestion would be to place a small amount on hold "electronically", and when the bikes are returned, release the hold. Very similar to a car rental. Otherwise, easy to rent, and lots of fun around the trails. read more
