The P5 teacher Jennifer is exactly the same but hides behind the director. Encouraged my family to seek an IEP solely as a means to kick my kindergarten age daughters out. Tried to circumvent the IEP process by trying to reach out to the care team to gain a recommendation that supported their goal of kicking my kid out. When that failed the principal lied about what the care team recommended. Bullied, harassed, and finally attempted to blackmail my family into voluntarily pulling my kid out in the last few months of the school year. This behavior started escalating the day of our IEP assessment and ended in a forced reduction of service before any accommodation request was made. This was after a glowing assessment of my daughter's growth. When I made a complaint about discrimination against the Preschool Director they declined to investigate without so much as a call to discuss my concerns.

I was too young for kindergarten, but was ready for school so my parents enrolled me here. It is not a religious preschool, though it is located in the same building as the First Lutheran Church so in that sense it is a religious-affiliated school. It is the only religious-affiliated school I have attended from preschool thru graduate school, and the religious aspect in no way detracted from the learning experience. Most of my classmates continued on to the same elementary school after, which was nice for having consistency in classmates across grades and schools. The classes were fun and both my parents and I liked the teachers I had. Though I did get in trouble once for telling the teachers they were not the boss of me... We were allowed to dress up for Halloween in class and the best Halloween costumes I have had in life thus far were while I was going to school here. I left this school eager to learn more and looking forward to kindergarten, which is a testament to the quality of education First Lutheran Preschool provided me. To date, First Lutheran Preschool is the only school I attended out of the preschool, elementary, middle, and high schools I attended in which the buildings I went to class in are still standing. The buildings I took classes in at Sunset Elementary, Einstein Middle, and Shorewood High Schools have all been torn down in the past decade. So out of these four schools, First Lutheran Preschool has something that the other schools do not in terms of standing the test of time.

They do such fun crafts, stem projects, she has brought home plants before and one year they made a homemade peppermint soap for Christmas. So cool! They have a great balance of learning inside but also lots of time outside! They have an indoor play area too which is nice when it's super rainy outside. One word - AMAZING!…read more This is our second year of preschool with POP and I'm going to be so sad when it's over! My daughter started preschool at a private Christian school when she was 3. Needless to say, it was a less than great experience. I had heard from multiple people (even a mom at Papa Murphy's) about Prince of Peace, but had already paid the $500 non-refundable registration fee for the private school. I wish I would have just ate that money and started her at POP to begin with. We ended up switching her to Prince of Peace half way through that year and it made a world of difference. She was, and still is, so excited to go to school and comes home every day with art and schoolwork that she can't wait to show off. The staff is very kind. From the teachers, to the assistants, to the office admin... they are so caring. The preschool itself is always clean, bright and inviting. Mrs. Young is a total blessing. She's great with the kids and has a very direct, no nonsense attitude without being scary. We love her and we love this preschool!
