We choose Jessica's program for many reasons, learning to understand and use a second language, outdoor spaces to play, Jessica's passion to teach and cook, and most importantly-the food! Take a look at her menus, I could not find this at another school. Many of her meals are complex with several ingredients and because she makes everything herself, and not from a box, she can control the types of ingredients, salt/sugar, etc. We do not have a pet at home, she gets to experience the responsibilities with Chicken's at school. It's obvious to us the amount of time that is spent after hours and on weekends developing her curriculum, continuing education, prepping for activities and meals. Our daughter loves going to school, has a wide palate and a large vocabulary in both English and French.

Her goal is…read moreto provide a nurturing and safe environment where the child can grow and prosper intellectually without modern pressures of technology or academia. Teaching is grounded in experiment-based learning as is encouraged in the Waldorf philosophy. The program is ideal for French and non-French speaking families alike. Our ideal parents are typically motivated by Jessica's approach to helping children become emotionally sound. Graduating children are encouraged to pursue Waldorf as an alternative education path in their K-12, but children will be ready for traditional academically-focused paths as well. And yes, food is a big part of our school. (please contact us for exact address location)

I had high hopes for Pixie Hill Preschool. Their mission statement sounded great: "all children are…read morehonored for their unique gifts and are supported in developing at their own pace. Pixie Hill offers a joyous learning environment that emphasizes social and academic growth through developmentally appropriate play." My daughter, however, was tolerated for exactly 4 hours before it became clear she was not welcome there. She is 3, she is speech delayed and struggles with transitions and new environments, but she is sweet and friendly and communicative. I genuinely didn't think she would present a unique or insurmountably difficult problem for a facility claiming to "bridge the warmth of home and the excitement of the outside world" for 3-5 year olds. The first day was rough, I was called to pick up an hour into the 4 hour session, but, to be fair, it was my first time leaving her like that ever. On our next scheduled day, she made it 3 out of 4 hours and I was called again. I was optimistic about the improvement between day one and two, but Pixie Hill was not. I was told, point blank, that the only reason she's made it 3 hours was because they had randomly had one extra person on staff that specific day but wouldn't going forward (but, like, why?). Before the third day with Pixie Hill even started, I was told my daughter wouldn't be able to continue without a dedicated educational aide which she'd need to qualify for through the school district, because they wouldn't deal with her otherwise. Coincidentally, I have a number of close family and friends who have worked in (local) preschools before-- I ran this situation by each of them and EVERYONE said the same thing, "how are they possibly making such big judgments about a kid in a totally new environment based on such little time?" To clarify: my daughter is not aggressive or physically violent, she isn't destructive or anti-social or seriously handicapped in any way-- she just needs extra time to become comfortable in a new place and around new people. Yes, she is stubborn and requires extra coaxing to participate in certain activities, but again, nothing I believe to be unusual or inappropriate in a 3 year old. They were nice about it and gave me information for other facilities and resources. Then when I swung by to pick up her spare clothes, they handed me a letter which detailed the reasons why she was no longer able to continue with them, listed here: she didn't transition well with the class, didn't want to eat lunch with the group, and didn't wash her hands on request. The speed with which this facility shrugged their shoulders, assigned a label, and decided she wasn't worth their time is what upsets me the most. There was no effort whatsoever made to try to accommodate or to try to help her adjust, they just went straight to "gtfo". Their mission statement is obviously "feel good" babble they are not prepared to back up at all. All this being said, the facility is nice and conveniently located, super reasonably priced-- only problem is that if your kid isn't a pre-groomed, completely compliant and obedient TODDLER, you're S.o.L. cause they will tell you very quickly that they don't have the bandwidth for any kind of accomodations (that you haven't provided for them). I understand that this preschool has recently undergone a leadership change and a large structural change recently. I didn't realize that the stellar reviews on here are now all 5+ years old, so I figured I should post an honest update!

I have been SO eager to write a review for this daycare for many, many months…read more TL;DR - you will not find more caring, communicative, and supportive school for your child. I wish I could convey how impactful our experience at Goddard Snoqualmie was to our family, but I do not believe words can adequately describe the admiration, gratitude, and true love that we have for this facility and the people who work there. We were at Goddard for one year and had the *best* experience. Mr. Julio and Ms. Maria are truly exceptional daycare owners (I say this with confidence, having toured many daycares in our new location and settling on one that is nowhere near as warm and inviting as Goddard Snoqualmie). They truly helped me become a better parent, better communicator, and just better person. They know everyone by name and are very hands-on with both the management and the children themselves. It is evident they care a great deal about their school and the families in it. The front office staff Ms. Kady and Ms. Talli are actual DREAMS. They are so friendly and so caring... to the point that if you are home sick with your child and you don't show up, they will call to make sure you are okay! We haven't been to Goddard in almost 4 months and my son still talks about his teachers there - even one he only knew for 1 month! That is the amount of impact that this daycare has on small children. Of course the smart, caring and compassionate staff are the most important factors in daycare, but outside of that - the facility is BEAUTIFUL. I mean really, really top-notch. It is bright, clean, with state-of-the art technology. I am confident that there was no detail left unturned. It was climate-controlled, the playground was state-of-the-art, and there was a TON of space for exploring. Curriculum was great. They use an app to update parents throughout the day and communicate. My son truly thrived here - they have a really excellent curriculum supplemented with things like music on Tuesdays and summer programming. Art is made every day, and they also do a lot of singing and story time. Had we not moved prohibitively far away, we would have continued to go to Goddard Snoqualmie for many, many years. I cannot recommend more highly.

The door is ALWAYS locked, and you have to enter a code AND scan your hand to pick your kid up - this is just to get in the building! Do you have concerns about your kid's education? This place does an awesome job of teaching kids as they are having fun - today my daughter built a rocket ship, played with 'alien' play doh, did a lot of puzzles and read books about the moon. And she had a blast! She didn't want to leave. Concerned that you don't know what goes on behind the doors of the school while you are gone? Throughout the day you will often get pictures of your kid as they are going through the different activities, and after you pick your child up, they send you a complete summary of everything your child did during the day - down to how much yogurt they ate, and how many times they went to the bathroom (or how many diapers, etc.). You will NEVER have to worry about your kids when you drop them off here. They have fun, enclosed playgrounds - the place is always incredibly clean, and the owners are some of the nicest, most genuine people I have ever met.

The school kept him safe and healthy (they only had 2-3 covid cases, never in his class) and also provided an enriching, fun environment. Once he started the pre-K section he was stimulated, learned all his letters, and began learning numbers. The class worked together on packets, while continuing fun and enriching activities on the side. He left very prepared for Kindergarten and had no issues transitioning due to their solid preparation. During his time there my son made great friends who he has continued with into kindergarten. When issues arose (as they do over a nearly 5 year period) we were able to resolve them quickly through meetings with teachers and staff. We always felt listened to and felt that issues were taken seriously and acted upon. I would highly recommend this Goddard to anyone looking based on our extended experience there.

As excited as we are for this next chapter, it's truly bittersweet to say goodbye to a place that has meant so much to our family. Over the past four years, the teachers at Goddard have not only cared for Benjamin, but helped shape the amazing boy he is becoming. Through their patience, professionalism, and deep dedication, they've nurtured his growth into a responsible, curious, understanding, smart, and loving child. Every positive trait he exhibits today is, in some way, connected to the values and culture instilled at this school. To all the incredible teachers: thank you. Thank you for putting your hearts into what you do every single day. You may not hear it often enough, but we want you to know how deeply grateful we are for your impact--not just on Benjamin, but on all the children and families lucky enough to walk through your doors. What you do is nothing short of extraordinary. And a special thank you to Kalis, the owner, for creating such a strong, caring, and joyful environment. You've built a remarkable team and community. Our past four years at Goddard have been filled with warmth, growth, and peace of mind--and we can't thank you enough for that. With sincere gratitude, Benjamin's parents, Sean and Lynn
