I have visited this salon four times…read more 3 out of the 4 times I was greeted properly and professionally and walked out very satisfied with my hair. However, for a professional organization it only takes 1 time to mess up and today was a major faux pas. I was livid leaving Ambiance Salon today. As a professional hair salon I expect for certain standards to be met: 1) agree to the terms established between you and your client and 2) respect your client's (who had scheduled an appt prior) time. Neither of those were done today. My stylist was made aware I had to leave no later than 1. She washed my hair and prepared me to go under the dryer at an appropriate time. However, I was done under the dryer at 1215, I made her aware....as she took another client who did not have an appt and sat her in her chair. In addition to make her aware of the time st 12:15, I repeatedly made her aware of the time every 15 minutes as it was drawing nearer to 1. Eventually at 12:52 she tried to rush me into her chair after she finished the client who did not have an appt and expected me to stay past 1 to finish drying and flat ironing my hair. I walked out with an unfinished hair style due to her mismanagement of time. She neglected to uphold her part as a professional, which was truly disappointing and as a result has officially lost a regular client.

I have been coming here for 4 years. Experienced last straw today. Had an appointment for a soak…read moreoff and a full set starting at 10:30. After which I made an appointment for my hair to be done at 1 at a different salon 10 mins away. 2 1/2 hours, plenty of time right? Wrong. As usual it took half an hour from the time I arrived to even begin soaking off my nails. Then it took another 3 hours to actually get my nails done. It wasn't a complicated style. A solid gel polish with some small gems on one finger of each hand. No intricate detail. So needless to say after getting out of my appointment at 2 I missed my hair appointment and my nails weren't even anything like the picture I shower. Today is also my birthday so now I get to have gross out grown hair and nails that I honestly didn't even want to pay for. There was also a girl that had an appointment at noon who had to sit there for 2 hours while the nail techs chatted to each other about random things completely stopping in the middle of working with their clients to gossip. No professionalism what so ever. I have 2 stars because Ashely the owner is extremely talented and does a good job. So if you have an extra 3 hours than you had originally planned to get your nails done then this is the place for you. As for me I won't be going back.

Back in December, a thoughtful Christmas gift was arranged: a fully prepaid microblading session was purchased for my relative. A kind and generous gesture, one would think -- but what ensued over the following months was a symphony of disorganization, dismissiveness, and outright disrespect. Despite the service being paid for in full months ago, my relative was strung along by the technician's forgetfulness and lack of communication. The original plan, for the technician to perform the service while visiting my relative's city, was evidently forgotten. When another relative of mine reached out again, trying to salvage the situation, arrangements were made for my relative to visit the technician's studio instead. What followed was nothing short of baffling. Upon arrival, my relative was met not with warmth or professionalism, but suspicion, as if she were attempting to scam a service that had already been compensated four months prior. The technician, seemingly unaware (or unbothered) that the payment had long since cleared, treated my relative with thinly veiled irritation, as though doing her a favor rather than honoring a paid appointment. The atmosphere did not improve. Throughout the session, my relative was openly mocked for her natural reactions that she simply cannot control. One might expect a beauty professional to show empathy, patience, or at the very least, basic decorum. Instead, my relative was treated as though her humanity were an inconvenience. There is a word for this type of experience: unacceptable. To dismiss a paying client's needs, mocked by something they can't control, and fumble something as fundamental as honoring a prepaid service is not just bad business -- it's disrespectful. Aesthetic skill can only carry a practitioner so far. Without kindness, without professionalism, and without accountability, what remains is a hollow practice. I would strongly urge others to seek their services elsewhere, from someone who values not just their craft, but the dignity of the people who walk through their doors.

Apparently, the pictures were never looked at because when I arrived, Gina Rogers thought that it was a good idea to critique the work of the previous lash tech and make faces. I attempted several times to get a word in edgewise, but Gina Rogers decided that her time was better spent over-talking me and explaining that, "her" lashes were natural and that she didn't even have lashes the length that I was wearing, and what type of lashes did the previous tech use and that my lashes weren't extensions, but individuals, blah, blah, blah. I get it, Gina Rogers prefers to create a specific, limited, defined look. However, if that is the case, this is similar to a hairstylist that will only create 1 certain hairstyle. In any case, truth in advertising is key. Make it clear to all comers that they must have virgin lashes, (Oh, because she, "doesn't like to work behind others...") AND post a photo on your social media with a disclaimer that you will ONLY create THAT look. Problem solved.

But the experience blew me away to the extent that it will be my permanent salon for lash fills. It was fantastic all around! The space is centrally located in downtown Cleveland (West 6th). It's a gem for anyone who lives downtown or nearby. Personally, I'm traveling 20 minutes just to come here and would travel even further. The space is clean, stylish, and gives off a very calm, welcoming vibe. From the moment I walked in, the staff was friendly and made me feel comfortable, which I really appreciated. The furniture and decor at this place deserve a separate paragraph. The place is decorated with refined taste and gave me upscale country chic vibes. The bed for lash service was "contoured/curved" and so comfy. I usually toss and turn during a long service, this was a very comfortable experience. The salon is also very spacious with dedicated rooms. You don't feel constrained. The service was really good. My aesthetician inquired about my preference of lashes - classic or hybrid and also level of desired fullness. The end results were amazing, so full and great quality. I can't speak for longevity yet but I have very good feeling. We also connected very well, she was very enthusiastic, energetic, and friendly. Just can't say enough good things! The only unexpected thing for me was no lash bath, I'll ask if they do it next time. I'm using to have lash baths as part of the service. It's just a personal preference really. I found that salon's availability is great. I was able to book the next service with no problem. It works very well for my schedule. Lastly, don't be intimidated by parking. Ask the salon about a discount code for parking for designated areas or find nearby lots. There's quite a few with the closest being across the street. There were five of us who needed hair done for the day and we called on Shannon Michael Salon. I also needed my makeup done as I would be singing at the service, and they were willing to do that too! Not only that, but they were willing to come to our hotel in downtown Cleveland. Ashley and Shannon arrived around 9 AM on the day of event - I had to leave for the church around 12:45 and the rest had to leave around 1:30. For five people, I was nervous that we would be pushing it on time...I was totally wrong! Not only were they professional and incredibly talented, but they were so speedy!!! 5 updos and 2 makeup applications done in just about 3 hours. Incredible! Ashley was so professional with the hair styling, taking our concepts of what we wanted and bringing it to life in record time! For my mothers hair, she did the most beautiful French twist with the perfect amount of "oomph" at the top. For me, the best side swept bun - again with enough body at the top that didn't make me look bald. Shannon was a makeup wizard, using all MAC products and making my face appear flawless. I don't like a lot of makeup or a lot of eye shadow and she definitely made it look dramatic without using too much! And the best part was that it lasted all day through heat and sweat and dancing. If you are looking for someone for your next event, either hair or makeup, this is the place to call! Plus they travel to where you are (within reason) so you don't have to worry about traveling on an important day! I wish they were closer to my hometown so I could hire them again for another event; if I find my way back to Cleveland, I would definitely use them for events in the future!

Ashley had done my hair both times and I have never been so complimented on my hair before! It was STUNNING! And considering we didn't even do a trial I was SO impressed and excited! I let her know I want to be her company, I am a business owner myself when it comes to my client I would take it out of my business account and whatever third-party or system that she uses, she should have dealt with them on their own not me needing to wait at that point I had no choice because she gave me no other options She said I finally put a review on my social media Instagram, which I also have proof of at that point she goes into my DM's threatening me to sue me get attorneys involved and she also told me I'm not getting my money. Well take that back first she said it was going to be six weeks.
