Best mani/pedi I've ever had! Lasted over 2 weeks without a chip, and this wasn't gel!

You said I was 11 minutes late. 11 minutes. Most dentists, doctors' offices, and social services offices provide a grace period of 15 minutes. That's a reasonable accommodation for traffic conditions. Even still, being 11 minutes late has nothing to do with me not having an empty chair when I got there. I could understand if it was 20 minutes. I arrived early to my 1st and 2nd appointments; and, the 1st appointment was good , which is why I booked the 2nd. I still waited 30-40 minutes before the second appointment began. On my 3rd appointment, I waited 10 minutes until the receptionist was off the phone just to be checked in and told that another barber would be completing my service. I said OK and was told he was finishing up. I waited another 10 minutes (while I read the reviews of the lounge) before I walked out. If we are talking about punctuality, I'll give you the 11 minutes, and you still owe me some time. I guess all those other people in the reviews complaining about your double-booking were 11 minutes late as well. You already stated in your own words, "To feel slighted is absolutely understandable and I will personally own that." There is nothing more to say after that. To accuse me of being condescending when all I am doing is telling my side tells me two things. #1, you don't know what condescending means. And #2, you don't know what accountability means. Lastly, I have never seen or spoken with a Lozell S. I spoke with a woman that day. I did not get her name. I was never asked, nor was I ever offered an opportunity to speak with the owner. If I had, I would have taken that opportunity. I am a reasonable person. I asked her if I could receive 50% back. She said no refunds. I said OK. She never mentioned a refund at all. I took it like a life lesson, and I left peacefully. I did not know I had been given a refund until after I left my initial review. Even then, I only asked for 50% back. If anyone says anything different, it is a lie. I did receive the deposit back, and it is appreciated. To anyone reading this: Read my comment carefully. Then read the response from the owner. Then ask yourself if you really want to take the chance of having to deal with this. A professional owner would have stopped at "To feel slighted is absolutely understandable, and I will personally own that." Instead, this owner would rather call the customer a liar in a Yelp review. Read the other reviews and ask yourself if you think I'm lying. This has been wild.

I had been a client for about a year and a half, regularly seeing an outstanding nurse, D.M., who left in April 2024. Every treatment from her--Dysport, filler, and even treatment for my gummy smile--was perfect. She completely corrected that issue, and I was consistently pleased with the results. On September 19, I saw a new (to me) practitioner, Bailey. She was kind and seemed to understand that I just wanted to maintain the results D.M. had given me. Unfortunately, that wasn't how it turned out. I contacted the office with concerns, and Bailey responded quickly and scheduled a follow-up for September 24 to correct the Dysport placement that hadn't reduced my gummy smile as expected. I appreciated her willingness to fix it, and I understood that, as a new patient to her, a correction might be necessary. In the following weeks, I noticed heavy creasing around my face--outside my normal smile lines--and saw this clearly in photos. I compared them to earlier images from just a few months after my last visit with D.M., and the difference was significant. I contacted the Skin Center again. Bailey was once again helpful and kind. She said it could be related to the crow's feet injection spreading to the zygomaticus muscle, which affects lip elevation. She explained that if that was the cause, the best solution would be to wait about three months. She also asked if I had experienced weight loss; I had lost about 8 pounds, but not enough to explain the change. After doing some research, I found images showing the results of neurotoxin spreading to the zygomaticus muscle, and they matched what I was seeing. I was grateful the result was just creasing--some outcomes are worse. I appreciated that Bailey was transparent and gave me two options: she could fill the creases at no charge or I could wait it out. She recommended waiting, and I agreed. The experience took a disappointing turn when I asked for a refund and the Patient Experience team got involved. I requested a full refund to my original payment method, as the results were not what I expected. Anna Lukas responded that the creasing was not caused by Dysport (despite Bailey suggesting otherwise) but said they wanted me to be happy. She added that the product Bailey used for the correction had already been "comped" and offered a partial refund or in-center credit. This response was frustrating. Corrections are routinely done at no charge and shouldn't be framed as a special favor. More importantly, offering credit assumed I'd return, even though I wasn't sure I wanted to. Anna's tone implied that the problem was my face--not the treatment. I responded that I wasn't open to a partial refund or credit. Anna later said I could receive a full refund--but only if I signed a legal document including a non-disclosure agreement. I found that extremely inappropriate. No patient should be silenced from sharing an honest experience, especially after a cosmetic procedure left them visibly worse than before. I was embarrassed by my smile and sought answers in good faith. Bailey and Faith responded with professionalism and kindness. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the Patient Experience team. To be clear: Bailey, Faith, and especially D.M. were all wonderful. The issue is not with the Shaker Heights team themselves--it's with how the Skin Center's leadership responds when things go wrong. Rather than taking accountability, they deny fault, offer token gestures, and rely on legal tactics to quiet dissatisfied patients. I can't recommend the Skin Center--not because the team at Shaker Heights lacks skill or care, but because if something goes wrong, the Patient Experience team is not equipped to handle it with empathy, transparency, or integrity.

They are not only AMAZING in the services they offer, but they are the NICEST people on the planet. Rachel (esthetic director and manager) made sure I knew every-single-step of how Botox works and the routines/procedures/payments/etc of this spa. Daniella (nurse practitioner who did the Botox) explained the procedure (I was nervous...) and even gave her email so I could check in with her anytime with any questions. By the way - she emailed me back within hours of me sending her a question and was so kind. What I LOVE about this place is how they go for a natural look. Nothing "fake" about how your Botox will look or any other treatments. I definitely did not want that fake look - and was happy to hear they dont like that look either. They are about enhancing your natural look. Since my first appointment with them, I have been back for more appointments and even use the skincare they sell there (Zo Skin Health). Seriously - my skin has never looked better. I am beyond thrilled with their services and with the products they offer. I completely 100% recommend them!
