The vet was checking her out and discovered a bleeding puncture wound on her back (picture is after being cleaned by vet). I contacted Dashing Dogs to find out why/how it happened. They had no idea. The people working said they didn't see or hear anything while she was there indicating the dogs were not being watched as promised. While they did say they were sorry it happened, they accepted no responsibility. I am just posting this is a word of caution. There is no screening process for deciding if dogs are aggressive and should be with the other dogs. I would be careful leaving your dog there!

We had prior arrangements with a boarding facility in Smithfield but the circumstances of one of our dogs had changed a bit and she needed additional medical attention.. before i could even let them know what she needed done they responded with "nope we can't do that".. I walked out of there feeling disappointed with that facility . I cancelled that reservation and now we were frantic because we didn't have alot of time before our cruise. I googled boarding facilities in the area and "Home Away from Home" popped up.. never heard of them but thats where we went!! the moment i opened the door to the facility.. i felt welcomed by Kathy !! We explained our situation in depth and without hesitation, they said yes.. whatever it is we can do it! If i tell you.. I legit started crying!! I asked Kathy before i left if i could hug her because she literally saved our vacation!! They took such great care of our babies we were able to enjoy our vacation. Kathy and the staff at Home Away from Home were so accommodating. I would highly recommend this facility for your boarding needs and i wouldn't hesitate to board our babies there again!! When they take the dogs inside, I was told that they are Humanitarians therefore they do not kill rats or mice living inside the facility. So your dogs are being exposed to mice and rat feces whenever they are inside on the couches or floors. If you choose to take your dog here, make sure you get a full Walk through every area for your dog will be at, look under the couches around the doors and in the bathrooms, employees had to use toilet paper with mice feces!!!

I found Oaks Vet Clinic through a panic search on Google as my dog was experiencing a potential…read moreemergency while I was out of town and he was here in Smithfield staying with family. Sensing some urgency I wanted to find a place that could see him the same day even if he wasn't a patient. While they aren't an emergency vet they were still able to set him up promptly with an account (after I sent over his records from his primary vet). The lady I spoke to on the phone was so kind and the process was seamless. My mom was the one who took him but she said the place was very clean and she was impressed at how there were no weird smells and she felt comfortable being in there. My dog saw Doctor Clark and she said she was sweet and very good to my boy. We found out the cause for his issue and she was able to prescribe him some medicine to help him heal, and since then he's been doing alot better! So thank you Oaks Vet for taking such good care of my boy and getting us on your schedule at such short notice! It's good to know we have a place in town that we can trust and go to if ever we have another incident while we're in town.

Kimchi is easy going, and though would have no problem being boarded in a kennel, being able to stay in someone's home was the best experience. We did a meet and greet and felt completely comfortable leaving our baby with Paw Addicts for the week. We received frequent updates (with pictures like this one!) on how she was doing. They paid special attention to her knee as she is still recovering from knee surgery. Upon picking her up, she was soft and clean as they gave her a bath and washed her bedding. Julia, her family, and their cute pup Bruce did an amazing job making Kimchi feel at home and cared for. Paw Addicts will be the first place I'll reach out to, and highly recommend!
