This was my first visit to Whiskers. The hours indicated they closed at 4 o'clock t he day I visited. There was also a sign on the door and on their marketing materials that walk-ins are welcome. So I walked in at 2:45 PM and took a seat. There was another gentleman in the waiting area and there were two barbers working on two other patrons. After a few minutes of sitting there I believe it was the owner came over to me and informed me that he could not take any more customers for the day. Again, there was one person sitting in the waiting area, it was 2:45 and they close at 4 o'clock. He suggested I try again tomorrow. I went back to my regular place and got my haircut. read more

I am very picky about how my hair is cut. I find a barber that I like and then I do not change to a new one. Just having loved to Tulsa, I have been dreading getting a new barber and have put off getting my hair cut in order to avoid it. After looking around online, this shop seemed to be a good mix between the service I wanted at a price I could afford. I will be honest, the reviews almost spooked me away, but I decided to go ahead and give it a try anyways, and I am so glad that I did. Tom did a great job with my haircut. He greeted me when I walked in the door and did a great job ensuring he knew what I wanted done with my hair. He worked quickly and gently, and finished it with a hot towel and straight razor. Yes, I have had longer hot towel finishes (as another review mentioned), but I'm not coming for the towel, I am coming for a quality haircut, which is exactly what I received. My personal experience found the negative reviews to be misleading and not accurate. All of this to say, I have found my barber in Tulsa now, and I will definitely be going back to Tom the next time I need a cut! read more

Less than 10 seconds of a hot towel on your face, virtually no lather, barely 3 minutes of prep before the razor, and you're surprised your customer says the blade is pulling and uncomfortable? This was less an experience with a legit barber and more like a clown rushing through his work instead of caring about providing good service. A real insult the craft. First off, shout out to Douglas Weiss for cutting my hair to my specifications and doing a good job. Don't let his young age fool you. He had me out of the shop under 40min, ready for work. I was initially going to pass on Whiskers due to their bad reviews. Being pressed for time, I decided to take a chance on the shop. It's a quiet, hospitable environment with good music playing in the background. And the staff was courteous; free or any pretension. I'm looking forward to my next visit and see what they have to offer. Nail grooming is no longer available, but, shoe shine services are. This place used to be my go to place. However, things have changed a lot recently. There has been change in staffing that led to less than satisfactory haircuts. The previous friendly atmosphere no longer existed and I felt the need to take my business elsewhere. On a side note: In my opinion, the owner of Whiskers is very unprofessional and I no longer feel comfortable visiting this business. I was messaged by him on here that I had to delete my negative review. The point of this app is to be able to voice your opinion of the business. I was the "first to review" this business over a year ago and had a 5 star rating, once I changed it to 1 star, it was deemed to not meet guidelines. If you notice, all of the new 5 star ratings are within the last month or so... pretty convenient. Appears they are trying to hide the bad reviews. Not to mention, pretty much all of those reviews are from people with a history of *1* review... that should tell you something. read more

I procrastinate. I had an important, next-day, early meeting and I needed to get my do cleaned up. Whiskers, I honestly thought it was Whiskeys at first glance, is a small, laid back barber shop. I think they should have Whiskey though. Sam was up for the challenge to cut my hairs. I warned him... the last haircut , another location, gave me a horrid haircut. I could see Sam was nervous. He meticulously cut each hair with perfection and skill. As sweat dripped from his brow, he checked the length and texture from all angles. I think I even saw him use his iPhone flashlight at one point. He even laughed at my dad jokes. So respectful. In the end, I woke up the next morning pleased with my do. I looked great, killed the meeting and went on to conquer the world. I guess I'll have to come back for more great haircuts. The bar has been set! read more

This was a mistake. I made an appointment online and didn't choose a specific barber as this was my first time coming here. I came to my appointment and an older gentleman was available. From the moment I sat in his chair I knew something was off. I showed him a picture of a simple fade I wanted. He used both hands to use the trimmers and I felt the shakiness throughout. He had me not facing the mirror so I wasn't able to see what he was doing or how it was looking. I could feel the unevenness, however. Sure enough, when it was done he showed me the mirror. One side of my head had a high fade and the other side was low. I normally would say something if I felt it was something the person could fix, but I didn't think he was capable so I had to go somewhere else to get it fixed. For a $30 haircut, I was expecting it to look pretty good. Save your money and patience and do your research before coming here. I cannot speak about the other barbers in the shop. read more

The fact that this place has 3.5 stars is ridiculous, it also seems positive reviews only come after a negative one so they can fix their average! Stay away! I found it super difficult to get a haircut based on the fact they don't even follow their hours. If I show up at 1:30 and the hours say open until 5, don't turn me away! On the occasion I did get my haircut here it took a very long time and it was nothing special. Even more so every time I've been in, there is some crazy religious documentary on the tv. There is nothing wrong with their beliefs but if you don't want to hear how the world is only 3000 years old for an hour to get a haircut you could get anywhere else, I wouldn't make the trip. read more

Walked in midday on a Saturday, got in the chair within 10 minutes, and got the best haircut of my life! Very classy joint, great staff, and is well worth your money. Service is seriously lacking. Last two times we made the drive to come down went like this: they closed 4 hours earlier than their hours say and they turned us away. Current stylist Megan Doubt shouts at us through the locked door to come back the next day. Disappointing but it's fine, the next morning we make the trip again, and again Megan sends us away saying everyone is booked. "Walk in's welcome"? Not a chance. Next time just tell us to book an appointment! The one and only time we got a haircut there the cut ended up fine but it took the stylist a long time to grasp a "shorter on the sides, leave the top slightly longer" request.
