    The dart board

Okay- So this women Jessica was the absolute worst. She didn't even greet us properly and then I go to take one of the chairs from the left side of the room and she yells at me- for trying to make one of my friends more comfortable. I don't understand why she was so terrible but she was. I'm a manager and I honestly recommend switching her out with someone who understands humans. Because she sucks. However- great whisky- sorry she had to disappoint my night and make it one of my worst experiences in winston. Thanks! Fire Jess.

I'm kind of in love. Stuck down an oddly enticing stairwell in the back of the Billiards bar on 4th Street you'll find the closest thing to a speakeasy in WS. The staff are inviting and accommodating. There are nightly specials, and darts in the back. I'm hesitant to give a great review because I kinda like having the place to myself for stretches on a weekday, but here we are.

Great atmosphere. Dart boards and live Jazz Music. Can't get better. Bar staff know their craft and are professional. Small and cozy place, great forJazz.

This place is awesome. The atmosphere is amazing! The closest thing to a speakeasy there is in Winston. You have to go inside the billiards bar (off of 4th) to a staircase in order to enter the Whisky Box. The service is great and the selection is fantastic. This is my favorite bar in Winston!

Love this little place! Going down those beat up stairs makes me feel like I'm getting away with something sneaky. Great cocktails, too!

I spent most of my time downstairs in the "whiskey box" and I loved the vibes.

If we put on another social gathering, we will definitely rent their space and order their catering again. The open bar was a nice touch everyone appreciated! MOST SINCERELY!

My husband was assaulted inside the bar, and the people responsible left before police arrived. To make matters worse, we were told the cameras only livestream and do not record, which was incredibly frustrating because it meant there was no recorded footage available to help identify the people involved. Everyone deserves to enjoy a night out without worrying about their safety. Based on our experience, I would choose a bar with better security measures and recorded surveillance instead.

A few people were playing card games at one table, others were hanging out near the pool table, and a handful were just vibing to the music at the bar. They have an extensive beer list and some fun New Orleans-style tropical cocktails. I was happy to see an Aperol Spritz on the menu--and it was made properly, so I ended up ordering a second one. It seemed like a few friends of the bartender came in and started picking the music, which shifted into a mix of dance tracks and rap. The vibe fizzled out a bit after that, so we decided to head out. Overall, it could be fun little spot, we will check back later. If you're in the area and miss Hoots Brewery, definitely check out Bar Nola. I can only imagine how great their Mardi Gras party must be or Super Bowl day. On the other end of the building, there's a huge open space with beautiful hardwood floors and a another bar. It looks like the kind of venue where you could easily host a party with a live band--maybe they even rent it out for weddings or holiday events, though I'm not sure if it's officially part of the bar. There's also a large outdoor area with a TV and an uncovered bar, but since it was cold last night, everyone stayed inside. It seems like you can take your drinks out into the alleyway between the two buildings. Definitely a beautiful area to be when the weather is nice.
