Evelyn Greer Park offers 10 acres of well maintained recreational fun for the City of Pinecrest. One of the nicest features of the park is Leslie Bowe Hall which can be rented for $450 for the first three hours. Leslie Bowe Hall has the capacity to accommodate 150 guests and comes with five 8-foot rectangle tables, fifteen 72" round tables, and 150 banquet style chairs. The park also has a gazebo with Wi-Fi which can be rented for $200 for the first three hours. Both facilities make this park very inviting for people who want to host weddings, parties, and private events. The park also has a lot of amenities that appeal to families, team sports players, and fitness enthusiasts. Throughout the park you will find multi purpose athletic fields, batting cages, outdoor gym equipment, picnic tables, a playground, restroom, paved walking trails, and water fountains. The park is beautifully landscaped with large shade trees and lush plants. Many classes are offered in the park like a cross fit boot camp. Most of the work was for underground drainage so most of the park looks the same as before. The same playground, basketball courts, baseball cages, baseball field, tennis courts etc. The renovation isn't completely done, the parking spots and some grass area still need a finishing touch. This park is close by my workplace, and I began a fan of it during covid, when I could take a short drive here during my lunch break, so I could pull down my mask and breath in some fresh air. The children area is really nice under shade. I hope they will install a section with adult gym equipment as well.

Built in the 1920's, it was the home of the first mayor of Kendall. During my visit I enjoyed strolling the winding pathways but this park is also ideal for enjoying a picnic with family and friends, taking the kids to play on the modern shade covered playground, or simply seeking a peaceful spot to be in nature. More active sports enthusiasts will enjoy the well-maintained tennis courts, basketball courts, and soccer fields which are perfect for a friendly game or serious practice sessions. He was well known for supporting the creation of Biscayne National Park which was signed into law by President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1968. The visitor center in the park is named in honor of Representative Fascell as is this park. Although this is a small park, it has a lot of amenities including a playground, outdoor fitness equipment, open recreation space, a pavilion, BBQ pits, tennis and volleyball courts, and an exercise trail. My favorite part of the park was all of the public art. Dante Fascell Park is the home of the Columbia Sculpture Garden which currently has six installations. There is also a large sculpture of a nude woman by the playground that was created by local artist Donald Lee Seiler. A naked lady is kind of an odd choice to stick in a kids playground but it is a cool art piece. As I walked around I admired all of the large shade trees and beautiful native flowers in the park. This is the ideal place for a picnic, play, exercise, fresh air, and culture and it is a unique community treasure in South Miami.

Being a block off of Red Road, you'd think there would be heavy traffic or loud truck noise all day long, but with the addition of the Publix between the park and 57th, it has a much more closed off, protected, and intimate feel to it. There is ample parking, and a few places for the kids to play and explore the freedom of running in a large green space. With benches and trees, there is more than enough of an area for adults to rest, soak up the sun, or enjoy an afternoon of peaceful nature while being steps from the reality of a major city. If you are looking for a little escape from the grind, slip your shoes off, slap your shades on, and let your toes feel the soft grass on your feet while you reconnect with the gentle beauty of peaceful relaxation at Cooper Park.

At the front of the park you will see a bust of the park's namesake, Licenciado Benito Juarez. I saw a lot of trash around the park and I would recommend that you bring bug spray because the mosquitos were out in full effect. There is also a playground are at the park which is lined with sand and consists of a couple of toddler swings, a rock climbing wall, and a couple of jungle gyms with slides. The large pavilion is available for rent. This is an ok park. I just happen to have stumble across it and would probably not make a special trip here. This park has a lot of potential and hopefully the city with invest in it more.

Veterans Wayside Park is named in honor of the service of the men and women of the Armed Forces of the United States. In 2007, 79th Avenue which runs adjacent to the park was co-designated as Veteran's Parkway by the Pinecrest Village Council. At that time a plaque with inscription marking this a Veterans Park was added. As far as Veterans Memorials go it is pretty small and easily overlooked. This passive passive park is 4.5 acres in size and has a freshwater lake, picnic tables, and open recreation area. The water attracts a lot of birds so it is actually a great place to bird watch or have a picnic. Although it may not have all the amenities of the larger parks. Veterans Wayside Park is still a respite of nature in the middle of a neighborhood.

There are many like it along the length of US1 and it is nice that they made these quarries into green spaces, if nothing else. This one has a fountain in the center of the pond, but it is little more than a green space and has very limited parking. But every park doesn't need to have a playground. Or be a dog park. Or have extensive walking trails. This park is a breath of fresh air in the midst of a concrete jungle and I much prefer it be a green space then another store front. And for that I am grateful.
