The Village of Pinecrest was officially incorporated on March 12, 1996. Evelyn Langlieb Greer was elected the first mayor and served from 1996 until 2004. She is considered the founding mother of Pinecrest in recognition of her efforts as one of the main advocates for incorporation of the area. Pinecrest Park was renamed in her honor. Evelyn Greer Park offers 10 acres of well maintained recreational fun for the City of Pinecrest. One of the nicest features of the park is Leslie Bowe Hall which can be rented for $450 for the first three hours. Leslie Bowe Hall has the capacity to accommodate 150 guests and comes with five 8-foot rectangle tables, fifteen 72" round tables, and 150 banquet style chairs. The park also has a gazebo with Wi-Fi which can be rented for $200 for the first three hours. Both facilities make this park very inviting for people who want to host weddings, parties, and private events. The park also has a lot of amenities that appeal to families, team sports players, and fitness enthusiasts. Throughout the park you will find multi purpose athletic fields, batting cages, outdoor gym equipment, picnic tables, a playground, restroom, paved walking trails, and water fountains. The park is beautifully landscaped with large shade trees and lush plants. Many classes are offered in the park like a cross fit boot camp. Very nice park. They have a tot lot and an area for ages 5+. Took my 3 yr old yesterday and he enjoyed playing on both playgrounds. They have a nice, large pavilion and open fields where there were several soccer games going on. It's unfortunate though that parents seem to be on their cellphones or socializing and don't watch their older children (8+) playing on the playground structures because the older children were running all around, jumping on the structures, running up the slides and just not playing appropriately. I was a witness to a small child (2-3yr old) knocked over by a bigger kid not paying attention. He didn't mean to harm the child, but was playing a rough game of tag with other children and unfortunately wasn't looking around him when running. Also, watched as two of these older children get into a verbal altercation, using swear words. With the "prestige" that the community of Pinecrest tries to uphold to, with a parking lot filled with very expensive European cars, it was very disappointing that the parents weren't more involved in managing their older children's behavior. read more

What a great park! The bathroom are clean plus you actually have soap & toilet paper. The vending machines have healthy than expected snacks. There is a large banquet style room available for parties. Covered playground that is divided into 2 sections, one for children ages 2-5 and the other one is for 6+. There is some kind of mulch instead of sand which is nice. An exercise track circles the parameter. The park is eco-friendly and even offers has a machine that you can purchase sunblock. read more

Pretty park in pristine Pinecrest. Yes, that is what comes to mind when I think of Evelyn Greer and the park that is down in Pinecrest, a incorporated part of Miami in the middle of the 90s. This area was somewhat of my old stomping ground as I grew up in Kendall, yet had never been to Evelyn Greer previously. Something I am glad has changed after this past weekend. As always with parks and places in this neck of the woods, you enter a well trimmed and pristine area that is nicely fenced and gated for protection of families, children and all. There seems to be a little less parking than one would think is adequate, but turns out it is ample for the amount of people that would likely be visiting on a daily basis. There is a very nice round permanent structure to house many people and tables for food or games or gatherings; then there is also a more main, offices and walkway with enclosed-outdoor restrooms with ample facilities. The park has a walking track around it which offers great exercise options for folks who live close by, and yes, this is in a residential area so I would believe it would be well used for this. There are two baseball or softball fields I believe and a sizable area for either flag football, which our group this past weekend used it for, or other running or playing activities. Then of course there is a very nicely kept playground and jungle gym area for the little kids. With nice and safe structures for climbing and having a cardio good time, the parents and guardians can sit back at a good close distance and feel that their youngsters are in a good place. So overall, with the event at hand we shared on this day at Evelyn Greer, I like the park and would love to come back and hopefully in some time in the future with little ones of our own. read more

They host great community events here. Recently we took our toddler of a daughter to Halloween here. It was perfect. Instead of walking a whole neighborhood with traffic, you walk a jog circle. Local businesses had tents set up all along the circle and were passing out candy (yes, the cheap stuff) and promotion literature. They had food (crepe maker, cotton candy...) and they had a huge blow up slide. Joey LOVED looking at all the other kids in their costumes. And there is a playground (it is a park after all) to burn off that extra energy for the stroller bound little ones. They do community events through out the year. I heard of something to do with Cancer around April. read more

They have lights!! You can walk here after dark because they have lights!! We're here today for the Boy Scouts Physical Fitness Challenge!! However, there are a lot of other kids here for baseball and for the playground. The playground is nice and it's covered. The park also has a room that you can rent for events. We frequent this park on the weekends. It never seems planned, we just stop as we are driving by. We don't use the park to its fullest, as the covered play sets and swings are the only things that the baby uses. That and she has a strange affection for water fountains. There is a walking/running track with those exercise stations that would make an Ironman, well, leave. But for the layman I'm sure they're nice. There are batting cages, baseball and soccer fields, a covered picnic area and more. Most recently we went to the Halloween festival here. Coming in April will be another event to raise money for cancer. Definitely a welcome, albeit dated by now, addition to the community. read more

It's not as great as Coral Reef. The reason why I give it three stars is bcuz they have mulch down in the playground area instead of the rubber ground like Coral Reef so when it rains its a big mess! It is an ok park though and has a nice trail that's opened and not covered by too many trees so u can see your kids. Oh and pile on the mosquito repellent. They are HORRIBLE at this park! read more

Wonderful family park in the neighborhood of Pinecrest! Where to begin? There's the park clubhouse which hosts all kinds of activities such as karate, dance classes and it is available to be rented. Then there's the amazing playground along with swings under a sunshade for the little ones on one corner. On the other side there's a batting cage to go along with the double baseball fields used for little league games. All this happens around a 1/3 mile track that forms a rectangle with recreational exercise stations (You know the kind) spaced every 50 to 100 feet. Large field in the middle for soccer, football, frisbee, etc. They have large park lights for night games. Also the bathrooms are on the cleaner side for a public park and gotta love that free WiFi. Cons: The parking lot can get packed during little league games, so the parking will spill out into the plaza across the street. There should be a basketball court, but there's one at Suniland down a few mins on US 1. The court would've been enough to get 5 stars. read more

Perfect park ! We have been coming here for a little over a year. I like it that the bathrooms actually have TP & soap! lol. Enormous room available indoor for birthday parties. Playground area is covered throughout (perfect for Miami weather, but could use some more benches around the playground ), exercise tools around park, a walking/running track. Would like some vending machines , with all the sports and things to do here dehydration is possible. There is 2 playgrounds: one for bigger kids and little toddler one. The best part about the playgrounds???.. they are right next to each other, so if you have more than one munchkin like me you won't have to run from playground to playground to watch them. Park is very special to me I met 2 of my sons friends moms here. Turns out 2 boys from my son's school saw me at the playground and they both approached me. I walked over to the moms and it was love at first sight. We hit it off great , we still k.i.t., and love to have picnics at the park. There could have a little more parking specially with all the activities going on. Also, my son started playing t-ball here 3 months ago and he is having a ball. I recommend this park to everybody. Full Disclosure: I live within walking distance, so I may be a little biased... That said, this park is very well maintained, always has something going on, and is well suited for all ages. Ample parking, just off off US1, I mean, I can go on and on. Be sure to check with the town of Pinecrest often so that you don't missed your favorite event. read more

I absolutely love this park, it is my all time favorite! love that it is very spacious, the playground area is huge and covered which is a plus, the only thing I wish the flooring was foam instead of mulch, that stuff gets everywhere. I bring my kids here all the time. I do like that it has a play area for big kids and one for small toddlers. The running trail is great. The indoor room is available for rental and is big enough to host all types of events. The park staff I've met there have been very friendly and accommodating. read more

What a nice clean park to hang out at. It is big enough for the kids to run wild, but small enough you can still keep your eyes on them. Good for all ages with the exercise track and open field. The playground is covered so that makes it nice on sunny days. Only down side is the mulch at the playground a rubber ground covering would be better. read more
