Today we went to this water park for my little cousin's 8th birthday, a celebration that had been planned well in advance. Our family spent weeks organizing everything, invested a significant amount of money, and arrived early to spend over two hours decorating the reserved birthday area we had rented for the day. There was a brief moment of thunder, and we completely understand that guests cannot be in the water during lightning or thunder for safety reasons. However, the thunder stopped almost immediately, there was no rain at that time or for the rest of the day, yet the staff forced everyone to leave the park. We were also required to take down all of our birthday decorations, despite having paid to reserve the space. The staff was rude, provided little to no explanation, and told us we would not receive a refund. This policy was never disclosed to us when booking the birthday rental. About 1hr later, we were finally allowed back into the park, but by then we had to completely redecorate the party area and contact all of the families and children who had already left so they could return. It created unnecessary stress, confusion, and took away from what should have been a special day for an 8-year-old. This is a warning to anyone considering booking a birthday party or group event here. Be aware that if weather causes even a brief closure, you may be forced to leave, dismantle your entire event, and receive no refund or clear communication. We were very disappointed by how this situation was handled and expected much better customer service. read more

It has a skate park, beach volleyball, basketball and tennis courts, a large lake a paved path and a big grass field. There is also a huge pool. Doral Central Park is adjacent to the headquarters of Carnival Cruise Lines and the United States Southern Command. This 82 acre park is between NW 92nd Ave and 87th Avenue on NW 33rd Street. Doral Central Park is the flagship project of the $150 million Doral Parks General Obligation Bond passed in 2018. The improvements to the park have been six years in the making and the east part of the park is finally ready for visitors. Doral Central Park is reopening in two phases with the outdoor portion opening first. Around the 21 acre lake is a brand new fitness loop, amphitheater, skate park, 2 playgrounds, multipurpose fields, a boardwalk, fishing pier, kayak launch, pavilions, outdoor fitness equipment and restroom. Even though it was raining on the day I visited, the park was still filled with people fishing, cooking out, exercising, and playing with their children. I especially loved the nature area with a boardwalk on the lake. The second half of the park is scheduled to be completed by the end of December with a projected opening date of January 2025. This section of the park will include a community center with a double gymnasium with bleacher seating and elevated indoor running track, a child watch room, a large indoor fitness center overlooking the lake, teaching kitchen and multi-purpose exercise rooms. The park will also have an aquatic facility, outdoor basketball and tennis courts and additional parking. When it is finished activities in the park will be open to anyone but Doral residents will pay less. This park is the site of many city events including the EGGstravaganza and the Independence Day Celebrations. It will be able to host many more events in the new amphitheater. Doral Central Park has a blend of sports facilities, recreational amenities, and natural beauty which makes it a versatile and appealing choice for a wide range of activities. I had an unpleasant experience at the water park at doral central. The section designated for little kids was poorly managed and unsdertaffed with lifeguards, which is the most importantly element of a water park. Specially the section with the slide. The area with the slide required a life guard at the slide entrance in order to properly manage the flow of children. During my visit a lifeguard was not present at the entrance of the slide and it was chaos. There were kids pushing, cutting the line, and not waiting their turn to go down the slide. At one point I saw 5 kids trying to go down the slide at the same time. When I asked to speak to the lifeguard manager her response was that they were understaffed. Although I appreciate that she came out to speak to me, her reasoning regarding the lack of a lifeguard at the entrance of the slide was unacceptable. The manager's solution was to tell the lifeguard that was designated in the area to stand near the slide. The only thing I saw the lifeguard do was blow her whistle at a group of little kids as if they were going to respond to that. The other issue I took with that "solution" was that the lifeguard is now focused on the kids accessing the slide and not keeping an eye on the rest of the section of the pool. They had no one else sitting in the lifeguard chair to watch that section of the pool. This was a major safety concern for me. I ended up leaving the water park because the park does not view safety as a priority. read more

We had no idea about this park. Although we live in Kendall, we went to the Raul to go bowling and watch a movie and on the way home we stopped at this park to end our day. They really did a great job. The park is very spacious. They have a BMX and skateboard park with running trails and exercise equipment along the way along with two big playgrounds and volleyball courts on sand we wanna come back and explore more. read more

With regard specifically to the kids' playground - NO SHADE ANYWHERE!! A lot of money was spent on this park, and yes, lots of trees were planted, but did anyone stop to think that all those trees would take short of a decade before they offered any shade? The kids playground (either side, small kids or bigger kids) was unbearable in Miami sun and heat. The few palm trees don't offer enough shade to allow enjoyment for more than a few minutes. read more

The Doral water park is..... awesome. They have for everyone to have fun and parents and family members can watch out for the kids easily been able to relax themselves as well . The food is excellent and the people working in the cafeteria very nice . It is very safe , they have several life guards on duty and the place is very organized, what helps a lot to make the place so enjoyable. They don't allow the park to be crowded, you can see they are concerned about quality in all the aspects of the park . One of the pools has a small but incredible fun lazy river .The showers can't be forgotten, because they add quality to the place . Besides all of this they have an incredible touch.....the planes flying overhead..... like St. Marteen. I am really surprised with this AWESOME water park . Parks are an amazing enclave to escape the city life and always welcomed in a city. Thus, it is difficult to complain about them as even the worst designed park is still better than no park. That being said, despite being welcome as an addition, Doral Central Park is certainly not the highlight of parks. Doral Central Park is vast, but does not feel like an enclave of nature whatsoever. The pure amount of cars and roads surrounding every piece of this park makes it appear more like a giant parking lot with a pond in the middle. The running trail around the lake is an excellent idea, but why build a road alongside it? The amount of noise and gas fumes from surrounding roads is substantial. There is barely any greenery here, with mowed grass dominating the spaces that aren't covered with concrete. There are no plants to isolate the park from the busy surrounding streets. The cleanliness is not great with lots of plastic lying around everywhere. The upside is the amount of grills stationed around the pond and that a pretty decent sized running trail exists. It's not a park to go out of the way for, but can be convenient for a jog due to the lack of better options in the area. read more

A park with a track surrounding a small lake in Doral! I absolutely love this park. I came here to train with some friends preparing for a half marathon. One of my friends lives in Doral so we all trekked over to Doral Central Park. I'm a huge fan of all the public parks in Broward and this park in Doral was no exception, although not in Broward. There's a huge track/walkway surrounding the park. There are lanes for cars, walkers, runners, and bikers. In the center of the park is a lake. One way around the whole park is about 1 mile. There are even mile markers written in different colors along the track so you can keep tabs for how long you've gone. Along the track are parking lots and exercise parks. Whomever thought of this idea for a park, I applaud you. I would hug you if I could. It was probably one of my most favorite parks to train at that I have came across. Doral is quite the ways away from Broward but if my friend is ever back in town, I wouldn't mind making the trip over to run here. read more

First time here at night for the holiday festival. They did a good job directing traffic (at least at towards the middle of the night) though we had to walk quite a bit. It is a nice large area with a lagoon and walking/bike path. The festival was busy but had lots of activities, rides, photos, food, stage with performances, slides, snow piles for the kids (nicely separated by age so the littles didn't get trampled- good foresight). There's a few public tables, sparse trees for shade and only saw on bathroom in the huge area. Must be hot during the day. Free yoga on the weekends. read more

Came here specifically for the Doral Food & Wine festival. Thanks to Yelp and Diandra I got the tickets...that was just pure Joy!!!!! I had never been to this park but it"s the perfect outside location. This park was so huge that people out there just to enjoy the park still had enough space to . We saw families flying kites, having a picnic, running around, and just walking laps. Parking was a breeze and there was enough space for all of us to enjoy the day! After getting scanned and checked in right away there was a gift bag for all which came with engraved wine glasses. Each side was lined up with vendors. They even had a stage for performances and a section for kids. To the left was the Veza Sur beer garden complete with several of their beers and a female DJ. The main tent had vendors all lined up with food, wines, rums, and then some! We worked our way around and made aure to try everything! I must say the popular dish every restaurant seemed to have was ceviche, no complaints here! There was a melting pot of different dishes ranging from charcuterie platters, steak with chimichurri, wagu burgers, asian fried chicken, hummus and baba ganoush, Ceviche, octopus and shrimp salads, pork tacos, pizza, and the list goes on and on. Let's not forget the Puerto Rican Rum section, the red, whites , and blushes of wines, tequilla, long island iced teas, and the Veza Sur beer garden with over 6 beers from their brewery to choose from. What was also pretty cool was a smaller stage for chef cooking demonstrations that let the audience participate! Each vendor also gave out coupons for discounts for future visits and purchases, it was awesome! After all that debauchery we headed to the eer garden to listen to the DJ, down some beers, and just relax on the seating they provided or be like us and just sit on the grass. The weather was beautiful with a perfect breeze so we just took advantage and really relaxed. This festival is a Must every time and this park is so spacious there's so many activities to do! read more

I met up with some friends here to go running on a Sunday afternoon. I really appreciate how this park is laid out. The road goes one way around a pond and is divided into three lanes: cars, bicycles, and pedestrian. It goes a mile around, and the running trail has quarter mile markers on the ground. What's also really nice is that there are multiple starting points and they're color coordinateed, so no matter where you park you're never too far from a starting line. That's some thoughtful design that I haven't seen anywhere else near where I live in Broward. There's bathroom stalls on two sides with water fountains. I also appreciate that the water was cold temperature after having done a 9 mile run under the sun! I didn't use the bathrooms so I can't comment on their cleanliness, but judging from the rest of the park the area seems very well kept. More inland there is another unmarked trail the goes around the pond that's good for walks if you're pushing a stroller or have kids running about. In the back there's also big field good for throwing a ball around or soccer practice, and there's also a nice little exercise playground that's good for some calisthenics. The park is definitely centered around fitness, but the pond offers quite nice view for where it's located, and there are picnic tables spread around the area too. While we were running, we could even hear someone practicing on their saxophone which was pretty cool. This is a nice little park that might be easy to miss, as it's adjacent to another field for grazing cows. There were a bunch of other folks at the park when we went, but parking wasn't an issue. Definitely a good spot to get outdoors and enjoy a breath of fresh air in the middle of Doral! read more

This is an exercise park yet it's also peaceful to enjoy the surroundings or for picnics. I come here for exercise as it has a 1 mile circuit. It is peak time in the mornings. Around noon it starts slowing down. Some people come to skate, go cycling, jog, run, walk, etc. I've brought dogs here too, the only problem is that there isn't any fencing so a leash is a requirement. Mine can be off leash but gets distracted. The goal is 10,000 steps per day. According to my app 5 laps reaches the goal! I make around 2,000 steps per lap here. Currently there is construction away from the park within what I believe will become part of the park. Basically 3 lanes for walking, biking, and cars and all go in one direction only. There are bathrooms available, & water. The con is that there isn't much shade available. It can be very strong sun. When the trees grow parking space may be cooler. I believe there is Security as well. Park closes at 8pm. The time is shown at the entrance. read more

This 21 Acre Park has a lake in the middle and a .9 mile jogging walking trail. It is very close to the US Armed Forces Southern Command so you always encounter military personnel exercising here. There are boot camps in the morning, lots of cyclists and runners come here to do their workouts on the trail. I find it useful to do my fartlek and interval workouts as the loop is too short and can get a bit monotonous especially on the bike. The park is safe and well lit and it has exercises stations and picnic areas. They just added bathrooms so that's why it finally deserves the 5 stars. We are fortunate in Doral to have great parks and this is one of them. read more

Originally called Doral West, which it will always be to me, this park is the to-go place for some good workouts. Gustavo sums up the distances quite well, and it is always a treat to see our wonderful Military getting down with the running here. The loop is slightly under one mile, it is perfect if you want to interval train, to bike/run for the triathletes or to just get a few safe running miles in. Inside there is a walking trail where mothers will be walking the children in strollers, rollerbladers will be out in full force as well. There is a nice little park for kids to play, a lake in the middle, picnic spots. All in all a nice park to have in the area. The ONLY thing missing from this park is a dog park. Doral has yet to get dog friendly. read more

What a great park! My guy recently discovered this gem when we were looking online for a place to go for a run everyday. We just moved to Miami and much of the area around our home is full of businesses and isn't very runner friendly. Even though there were quite a few runners, everyone was very respectful of one another. The one downside of this park is that the running/bike area and the road are all together. Made me a tad nervous when I saw that and a couple of people mentioned in their reviews that they've almost gotten hit by cars. It might be a good idea to put up some sort of small barricade to make it more apparent to drivers that they need to look out for people running and riding their bikes. I would just hate to see anything bad happen to someone just trying to enjoy a workout. read more
