This park is fairly big, nice and always busy. I absolutely love coming here and spending time walking and seeing the fishes across the bridge. On Sunday, there's a decent farmers market. However, the limited parking here is an issue. Either way, I think it's a great place to come and spend some time outdoors. read more

Thanks to COVid, we got to explore parks in our city, and this one is a nice find. It's a relatively spacious park, with plenty of parking. There is a river/channel running through the park, it's really nice to stroll along it, though the bridges could be prettier. There are people sitting along the river feed ducks (though there are signs telling you not to). There's a Meditation Garden. We went on a Saturday and found a farmer's market. It doesn't have any fresh produce stand, despite the name, but there are plenty of delicious eats and artisanal crafts. read more

This is one of the best parks in Miami. The security, friendliness, cleaningness (I have seen them cleaning the signs), the facilities. The maintenance of equipment is continuous. Another really cool park that we discovered, located more Southerly in the Kendall area, this park boasts some beautiful trails with bridges and water. Very picturesque. Would love to come back here and enjoy the trails more. The playgrounds are where we were at mostly - for a kid's part for one of our son's classmates. It was fun! There is a large baseball field nearby that the kids all enjoyed, and a huge spinning top kind of contraption that many of the kids jumped on and spun each other around. Tons of fun. The swing sets were good, there were a good amount of picnic tables and the park was clean. There was also a farmer's market so this place is a winner in our book! read more

Great park to take your kids or go exercising. I come here now religiously for my sons soccer games but honestly I should come here to run or work out. The park is always full of people and there are so many things to do within the park. This park is located next to a school. It has a play yard for children of all ages in one corner. When I mean all ages I mean all the way from baby to adult. The only thing I hate is that the bigger kids go to where the babies should be playing. Which doesn't make any sense why they would do that but they do. The park has numerous fields for soccer football and baseball. I've seen kids dressed there from tennis to even gymnastics. Looks like so much fun. There is a lot of parking throughout the park but so many people come here it's really not enough. That would be my major complaint. The kids enjoy coming here, but the playground area can get a bit crowded. We like how there is shade, large fields to play in and rests rooms for those longer days at the park. They have picnic tables for birthday parties, which might need to be reserved for that specific reason. We enjoy watching the ducks close to the water/canal area. Coral Reef Park is huge park, spanning more than 50 acres located in the village of Palmetto Bay. It is one of the biggest parks in Miami Dade County. Coral Reef Park is made up of green space, pineland preserve, and the winding C 100 canal which divides the active and passive parts of the park. The park is open every day from sunrise to sunset. Park amenities include baseball, softball, and football fields. Different sports programs are available in the park from youth to senior. There is a tennis center and racquetball courts. Children can play on the covered Bridget Allison Pier Playground. It has areas customized for different age groups from 6 months to 12 years. The playground was named for the daughter of a former village clerk who passed away from a stroke at the age of 7. There is a paved 1.16 mile walking, jogging, and bicycling path. Along the trail are 16 exercise stations. There is a gazebo and bandshell available for rent as well as an air conditioned recreation room and four outdoor picnic areas. You can contemplate in the English style, Ken Robinson Meditation Garden and Gazebo. The Parkside Cafe and Pavilion is the perfect spot to grab a bite to eat. Seasonal events held in the park include movie night, the Dare Art Sale benefiting drug education programs in schools, and the Village of Palm Bay's annual picnic held the first Saturday in March. Every Sunday the Palmetto Bay Farmers Market takes place in the east side of the park. There is so much to do at this park because it has a lot of versatility. Great family park for sport games, parties, family time or just to stroll around the beautiful grounds! The park is usually full during the week with practices and games on the weekend. Parking is not great but everyone makes it work! I feel very safe at the park. Never have had a problem. Having said that, I still lock up my car and hide my property. Don't want to make myself an easy target. There are picnic tables but I suggest to bring your personal folding chairs and cooler to stay hydrated!! Come out and enjoy the park! read more

This park is equipped with bridges, freshly cut grass for soccer fields. Tennis courts, and a large playgrounds for young children. Surrounding the park are large trees creating shade and beauty to this park. There are benches in place for family picnics also. The parking here is limited on prime sport days. This is my favorite place to walk! It is well maintained and they even have added more to the walking path this year. There are nice restrooms with water fountain and even a bottle refill station with chilled water! There is a nice playground and there are ball fields, tennis courts and lots of grassy areas to picnic. There are lots of ducks and squirrels and the canal runs through the park. Just a great place to relax or exercise. There are also exercise stations along the walking path that are back open after Covid. There are three parking areas to allow plenty of access. I don't come here often, but when I do, I've had a good time. For the last 3 years, around June 23rd, I've attended the "Dogs of Summer," an exposition hosted by the park highlighting responsible adoption and care of dogs. Miami-Dade Animal Services has dogs available for adoption in their mobile unit, and there are also booths set up catering to dog care accessories. Some of these booths offer free "puppy swag". They even have a volunteer doggie bath concession, and there are watering stations for the dogs as well. I enjoyed watching the Miami-Dade Police K-9 demo with their awesome Belgian Malanois. There was food offered, by a food truck selling "gourmet PB&J"...but I passed on that. Each year at the event, I also take the opportunity to speak with my local elected officials, Commissioner Cava-Levine, and Mayor Bell of Cutler Bay...they both attend the event each year. I also enjoyed conversing with radio personality Dougie Hitchcock, who broadcasts live from the event on my favorite radio station, ThunderCountry 100.3...he is a very passionate activist when it comes to rescuing dogs. I just wish they'd call it "Dogs of Winter" and have the event then 'cause it's REALLY hot, despite the fact that there's plenty of shade. The other thing I personally enjoy at this park is bass fishing. A main flood control canal meanders through the park. The walkways, overhanging shade trees, and bends attract fish and the banks are gently sloped, making for great line-of-sight fishing. The parking lot is very close, so you can easily access your gear, refreshments, or A/C easily. The rest of the park seems very well kept, and is larger than any park in my neighborhood in Cutler Bay. read more

I just love this park. It's got a great park for kids, tennis abs racketball and a beautiful trail. There are kids and adult tennis lessons. The clubhouse is just remolded. Baseball fields are always kept clean and fresh. I walk several times a week here and there are always people working to maintain the place. There are benches around the canals which is calming. Gazebos available for rental. Plenty of olen space to run around. Exercise equipment around the trail. Lots of parking lots. Market on Sunday's. Only thing people don't like is that no dogs are allowed. read more

Came here for a play date today and had a nice time. Very open park, no sand, different play ground areas with shade, nice trees. We had several picnic tables to our use and plenty of trash cans. Around 8pm in the evening we set off on foot from St Richards parking lot towards this park. A busy intersection where motorists are eager to get about on a Wednesday evening. So take care crossing the streets. We started on the SE corner of the tree lined path and made our way North on a synthetic tanbark trail next to the canal that ran through it and past a gazebo where tai chi instruction was being led with soft Oriental Music. We noticed at least 10 big ducks along the way. I stopped for one, knees bent it wagged it's tail waddling towards me in hopes of a few scraps of pieces of bread. I had none to offer. We continued past the parking lot where signs state the parking lot shuts their gates past dusk. Apparently some motorists must who stay past dusk find themselves locked in. At the far reaches of the park we notice tennis courts. Crossing one of two foot bridges over the canal in the park we walk past exercise stations. Now, west of the canal, we see girls completing volley ball practice on a sand volley ball court. There are no lights for the games to continue. It's a pleasant May evening and the full moon is out on this May 10th eve. It was a perfect way to spend 20 minutes before dinner. read more

Dear Coral Reef Park, You are an awesome neighborhood park located just down a ways from our house. Now that I have my bike, I like to come and ride here, through the little pathways, over the grass, and around the perimeter of the park. There's always something going on here which I like to see. There is cheerleading and football, volleyball and joggers. People with dogs (though not sure if they're actually allowed) and kids on bikes. Total family park. The reason you lost a star? Beautiful place to enjoy with the family. I've been there before but until today I realized how big it is, of course because we parked on the opposite site of the family meeting area. It is well distributed with more than two areas for parking, it has different entrances and it has been divided in 4 zones. On the 152nd Street entrance you will find the play grounds (2) marked by age limit, which I think it is incredible helpful specially for the parents with 2 years olds and under. It has restrooms in different areas, and kiosks that can be rented for he day, many picnic tables and bbq areas. They constantly pass by to empty the trash and replace the trash bags. A long channel goes across the park and you will find bridges to access the other side. They have the Farmers market on Sundays, and my favorite spot from now on is my new discovery "The Meditation Garden." You will enjoy a great variety of plants and flowers and a diversity of birds among others. It has walking roads and it's just a beautiful place to spend any day. They close at sunset. read more

Had lunch at Coral Reef Park on Saturday afternoon. Spent most of our visit at a picnic table near the corner of the park. Quality After grabbing take-out lunch in the area, decided to enjoy the beautiful weather by eating outside at Coral Reef Park. We had our dog in tow, so we were disheartened to see signs saying that dogs were not allowed. I can understand if they do not want dogs without leashes, but a large park with green fields and walking paths not allowing dogs is absurd. We chose to ignore the signs and picked a table in a quiet corner of the park to eat our lunch anyway. Quantity The park is a good size at more than 50 acres. It has lots of green space, tennis courts, picnic areas, and playgrounds. We had no problem finding a tranquil spot to enjoy our meal. Value The park is free to visit and they do not charge for parking. They do have some outdoor picnic areas and gazebos that can be rented out if you have a large gathering. Ambiance Coral Reef Park is located down south in the Palmetto Bay area. A few blocks west of US-1, the park is adjacent to an elementary school in a nice residential neighborhood. The park is pretty large with all the basics. It has baseball and football fields, tennis and racquetball courts, playgrounds, picnics, and walking paths with exercise stations along the way. A small canal also flows through the park creating a serene atmosphere. However, I can't help but harp on the fact that they do not permit dogs in the park. Almost everywhere we walked signs were up prohibiting even leashed dogs. In a city where so many people have dogs and more and more businesses are adapting to allow dog owners to bring their pets, you would think a massive open space could do the same. Crowd Two types of people made up the majority of the park visitors. Parents with small children and groups of people exercising. In addition to large empty fields to let kids run out their energy, the park had several different playground areas. Meanwhile, the walking paths with exercise machines along the way were in constant use. I also saw a pick-up soccer game on one field and a bootcamp workup class on another. Service I found the park to be much dirtier than I would have expected it to be. The only reason I could see them keeping out dogs would be Miamians tendency to not clean up after their pets. However, with garbage strewn on the paths, benches, and fields, I couldn't imagine dogs making things any worse. Parking It appeared like there were a few different areas with free parking available. We parking in a small lot that was towards the southeast end of the park near the elementary school. Extra Coral Reef Park needs to change its dog policy. It seems like it is a perfectly fine park, besides being a little dirty, especially for a walk or a jog. However, the decision to ban pets is idiotic and as such I will take advantage of more welcoming parks. read more

A great park with something for everyone. There is a playground, beach volleyball, tennis, basketball, baseball and a lovely walking/jogging/vida course trail/ bike path. Lots of shady trees and green grass to play. Pavilions to rent. Lots of birthday parties on the weekend. Picnic tables placed about the park too. It seems like parking is limited of you pull in near the playground but a short drive to the other side of the park and there is another parking lot with more space. For a great afternoon out with the family this spot can't be beat. They also have several classes offered. *also a geocache stashed here for this who are into that (like me). Best park in the area! Lots of trees so that mean shade. We all know that living in Miami this is an important aspect to consider when planning an outing with the kids. The play area is covered so kids are protected from the sun. Tennis courts, racket ball courts, beach volleyball courts, baseball field, nature preserve, lots of picnic benches and shady trees, playground, long and winding jogging course, concession stand, open fields and a river running through it. Most stuff is first come, but you can plan ahead and rent out pavilions if you like for birthday parties. I don't want to make it sound huge, it's no tropical park or anything as far as size. I used to come to this park as a kid, and have brought my own daughter here a few times, despite the fact we live on the beach, and there are plenty of nice parks here. There were playground attractions she enjoyed at Coral Reef, including the spinner and other things for older kids like her. Unfortunately, on our last visit, we noticed that ride and many of the others for the older kids were now gone, although we are not sure why. It seems they're catering to the toddlers, but what about kids who are past that stage but are not too old for playgrounds altogether? To top it off, a rude park employee yelled at everyone that their cars were going to be locked into the lot in the next 5 minutes so leave now or you will be locked in until the next day. Very rude, and considering it was 4:40, it was baffling. I have never seen a park close at 4:45, they usually close at the hour. Maybe they close the parking lot but not the park itself, which is still very odd. Every park I have visited has closed at sundown, or at 6 at least. There is still sun at 4:40 even after Daylight Savings Time, and there's no website to state their hours, so that is very frustrating. In addition, no ducks were to be seen on this visit. That was one of the reasons I loved coming here as a kid, so rude employee, rides removed, no defined park hours and no ducks knocks off a couple of stars from this review. read more

This park discriminates against basketball players. It has all the amenities one would expect from a posh suburbanite area, except a basketball court. Why? Can anyone answer that? I kid about the discrimination remark. This is a beautiful park. Everything from the design to the wildlife (the different breeds of ducks) are stunning. There are a lot of tennis and racquetball courts. Though they are usually packed. I would recommend reserving the courts ahead of time. There are 2 volleyball court that are usually being used. And depending on the season, a lot of sports programs taking place during the afternoons. They also have 2 baseball fields and 2 football fields. I go jogging just about everyday here and they have exercise stations throughout the track. The Good: Park has police riding around keeping it safe. The park is very clean. A lot of open space for anyone to do their thing. They have a little garden to the northeast part of the park. The bad: No flipping basketball courts. I can't believe I hadn't discovered this park before my Botany class took me there. It's hopping with fitness enthusiasts( even early in the morning). I would give this park 5 stars if I would not have gotten bit by some unknown bug on the shoulder and now I have the most ugliest scar! Ugh! Lots of shade and my girls love it! I push the little "Chuckee" around on her trike on the trail or have the big one play with her on the park. They also offer tennis lessons for all ages which is cool if you want to change up your cardio. Beware though...be expectant to play with other people kids if you do so. When I take the little one there in the mornings to play on the park and there are other kids there while their parents are too busy on the cell phone to play with them, they want me to play with them and begin to think I'm their playmate! This park is amazing!! I drive past numerous parks just to come here. They have tennis courts, playgrounds, and lots of open areas. Jogging or biking through, one feels as if they have entered into an alternate universe where happiness and prosperity is the norm. If the birds and ducks which stroll around the trails began dancing and singing songs I wouldn't bat an eye, I would simply think "This is normal here, this is where this happens." Nice trail for you to run around, though rather short if you're looking for distance biking. Cycling enthusiasts can just park here and head towards Old Cutler to fulfill their fix. All along the trail there are workout stations with specific machines. Great signage which tells you what area of the park you're currently in, should some unsavory character come too close, but have no fear, only singing birds and smiling upper-middle class frequent this park.
