My husband and I were married at whispering Tree Ranch on 2/25/2017 and has the most amazing wedding. The venue is absolutely stunning, especially since the barn was built. We booked exactly a year before our wedding date and worked closely with Jenny to design our day and all the extra details we wanted to add. We upgraded our decor for an affordable price and were blown away by the beauty of it all. My bouquet was insanely amazing!! From the time of booking, to the actual day went very smoothly, even after Jenny lost one of her valuable employees. I had tons of fun planning my dream wedding, and Whispering Tree made sure I wouldn't be disappointed. We've heard from all of our guests that It was the most fun, and most stunning wedding they'd ever attended. We chose catering by Giddy Up Fixins, and they were accommodating to our unique menu requests, and made a great taco bar for our fiesta! Our DJ was Taylor Oullette, and he blew our mind! People were dancing all night!! My husband is a DJ and is very picky about his tunes, and Taylor was incredibly accommodating to our style. Our gorgeous and delicious cake was provided by Lisa Romero, she won't disappoint, although her communication was lacking just a bit (I'm also super impatient, haha.) I will never forget my experience with the WTR team, and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for an amazing and in-budget wedding. I can't put into words how incredibly lucky I feel for booking this venue. I just had my wedding on January 6th and not only was the place decorated SO BEAUTIFULLY, everything went perfect. Every single vendor was amazing (I used Giddy Up Fixins, DJ Coach Taylor and Cakes by Leah). They kept in contact with me from booking to just before the wedding, making sure everything was perfect. Jenny, the woman who owns the venue, was so so sweet, patient and helpful in making decisions!! My husband and I got married here 12/04/2015. This place is so charming and sweet. It's a rustic gem hidden down in Laveen, AZ. Jenny & her staff are awesome. Very helpful and willing to lend her resources to make your day as easy going as possible. And I appreciated that she was so laid back! She even let us use a lot of the decor that people have left behind from other weddings (wood slices, mason jars, etc.) You can also bring in outside vendors. Except for bartender- you have to use the one they contract with. We catered Oregano's for dinner, and hired Bites Donuts truck from Gilbert, AZ for dessert! This place was a dream come true. I couldn't have picked a better venue for what we had envisioned our wedding to be, and it was perfect for our budget! Truly a place I will never forget. read more

They have been very welcoming and helpful throughout our wedding planning. Every one there has not only helped us out with the venue but have also offered ideas that have been great!! Im not sure why the first reviewer would automatically go towards personal attacks on people that she doesn't know...but I guess everyone is different in the way they express their frustrations. NO CHANGE.. Jenny and her staff continued to be their helpful, amazing, friendly, fun selves. Our wedding turned out to be everything we had imagined and hoped for thanks to these fine people and their exceptional establishment (of course we also give credit to our family, friends and other wonderful vendors, but it would have not be the same without WTR). Wedding date: 3/15/15 Jenny and her staff helped to make my wedding day everything I hoped it would be. I appreciated how flexible Jenny was with scheduling a rehearsal time and helping to set up and clean up when my designated person became unavailable on short notice. The venue itself is everything I was looking for, and it's so beautiful by itself I didn't really need to add much. My guests had nothing but great things to say about the venue. I know a few people who have expressed interest in having their wedding at WTR after attending my wedding and hearing about how affordable it is. In terms of communication, Jenny always responded to my emails within a few days. I booked a year in advance and I remember thinking she didn't really reach out to me much, but by the time of the final walk through, I realized that we didn't need a whole lot of communication. She definitely covered everything in the final walkthrough, and was always open to answering any questions I had about decor and potential vendors. read more

Married this last weekend (27-Apr-19) and I couldn't be happier with my venue. My wedding went off without a hitch! Jenny and Erica were perfection in handling all the details. All questions were answered quickly, all details were seen to. All the vendors I used (Giddy Up Fixins, DJ Mixmasters) were awesome and people were raving about the food (thank you Tina Jay!!). You can really see the work that Jenny and Erica put into each wedding, because nothing went wrong and it was just smooth. I didn't get to see the decorations until the actual ceremony (I just kind of gave Jenny an idea of what I wanted and let her take care of the details) and they were beautiful. Maid of honor for wedding in October. It was supposed to be at this venue. The venue is adorable and country chic... but choosing venue definitely gave us a story to tell. It was raining pretty hard on the wedding day. It was about 3 hours before ceremony start time and we received a call from the venue. They said the venue was flooded and they were trying to get the water out. They said to the bride "maybe we can just get you here, get you married real quick, get you out and then you can come back in December for the reception." The bride hung up and was devastated as you can imagine. Luckily we have a good friend with great connections who was able to pull some strings and get a different venue reserved 1.5 hours before the ceremony start time. The bride really loved Whispering Tree Ranch and was looking forward to her dream wedding here. We ended up having the ceremony and reception at a small ball room at a resort about an hour north of whispering tree ranch with none of the decorations and no caterer. Weather is completely out of the venue's control and it really is a beautiful venue. If you choose this venue, be mindful of the time of year and chance of heavy rain. read more

From the moment we booked Whispering Tree Ranch, we were in love. It's green, beautiful and incredibly charming. On our wedding day, it POURED down rain. Any bride would be devastated having a storm roll in on her outdoor venue, however, Jenny and her team got busy taking care of business. She was somehow able to comfort me, organize the bridal part, set up and protect the decorations from the rain and help us throw an incredible party. Communication was easy, meeting with her was like meeting an old friend for coffee and her team was all smiles the entire day. I felt like they were genuinely happy to be a part of our wedding day, which is very comforting! I was a photographer for a wedding that took place here a few weekends ago. This venue is a little far from any highway. It is located out in the boonies. The area is a little sketchy. The signage for Whispering Tree Ranch isn't very large and you can easily pass it up and may end up in an Indian Reservation. Aside from the interesting journey, this place is very beautiful and quaint. There are separate cabins for the bride and room to get ready in. The feel of the furniture and decor set through-out the venue is very vintage. The ceremony area is set under a beautiful large tree. The reception area is open air with stringed lights above. I had a short interaction with the owners and they seemed very nice. I spotted them periodically throughout the event, so they are there if you need anything during your big day. read more

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Let me just begin by saying that when we found Whispering Tree Ranch, everything seemed to be so perfect. Jenny was very responsive to phone calls, emails and even texts. She seemed so happy that we booked with her and really was doing everything possible to make this wedding happen. Then things took a turn for the worst. She had a "family emergency" (seems to be a trend from down below in the previous comments) and went M.I.A. for a while because of it. Didn't have time to return any form of communication we were trying to have with her. Finally, when she decided she was able to come back to work, she got back to us. From then on, she was very up and down with her emotions. We didn't know if we were going to get good Jenny or bad Jenny. We literally were walking on egg shells with her. We were afraid to make her mad, or say something to set her off. It was very uncomfortable. She was horrible at getting back to my wedding planner. We were literally struggling to have ANY form of communication. She would just get back to us whenever she felt it convenient. With 14 day before my wedding (November 1st), she literally stopped talking to us. We had to make final decisions with parking and she chose to not get back to us. Finally, 9 days before my wedding, she wrote my wedding planner an email stating that "we either give Jenny full control of the wedding- even down to the decorations, or we could get our money back and find another venue". I was literally in shock! Who does that to a bride 9 days before the wedding? That same day, my mother and wedding planner showed up at Whispering Tree Ranch and asked Jenny for a full refund, like she said we would get in the email. She was shocked that we were getting the refund, but did follow through with her word and gave us all of our money back. I really believe she used that as a threat, not thinking we would actually choose finding another venue in 9 days. Even though we were getting our money back and were done with The Whispering Tree Ranch and especially Jenny, she was so persistent and NEEDED to know where we were having the wedding. We never told her, since it was none of her business, but she sure did try to find out all the details of what we were doing now that we had chose the refund out of the 2 options she gave us. All in all, Whispering Tree Ranch seemed like the perfect package. It really IS the perfect package if you take Jenny out of the equation. We did nothing but struggle to communicate and have what was written and signed in our wedding contract with Whispering Tree Ranch held to what it was supposed to be. Jenny is a control freak and definitely doesn't like when she can't have her way, or if there is any form of a wedding planner involved. Never in my wildest nightmares would I have imagined planning a completely different wedding 9 days before my wedding date. If you want Jenny to do everything for you, then this is your venue. But if you have plans of your own, please do not waste your time and energy here. All it will bring you is sleepless nights due to anxiety caused by Jenny. read more

Although some people may have had good experiences with this location, their recent attitude towards clients is sub par. I've been trying to get a hold of them ever since their open house and nobody returns phone calls, answers messages, and all I get is canned emails. Part of me would really like to follow through with this venue, but the other part of me is screaming run away. If NOBODY can get in touch with them to schedule, then how can we expect them to come through. The latest "rumors" were that the site manager has health problems. I feel really sorry for her, but if you can run your business, then count me out. read more

Jenny and her crew were AMAZING. Seriously, not only is the venue drop dead gorgeous, but the service is outstanding. She was so laidback, helpful, and open to the (many) whims and suggestions by my (often too excited and pinterest-crazy) wife. We wanted a wedding that was both wholly unique but still relaxed and fun, and we got just that. Mostly all of our guests remarked how amazing they thought the venue was (with many of them mentioning how it looked like a set out of a movie.) But again, the best part was working with such great people. During our last meet-up with Jenny before the big night, we spent 30 minutes talking plans, and the next 90 just BSing. She is that friendly and welcoming. Seriously, the price is ridiculously low and the value is ridiculously high. BOOK THE WTR! read more

I have lived in Laveen for 35 years, so I was excited to visit the Whispering Tree Ranch in our area, about time someone had an affordable wedding venue in the area! The property has a lot of charm and the trees are beautiful, but it could be so much better than it is! I noticed a lot of reviews were from 2014, when indeed the property did look quaint and everything fresh and charming. I think that must have been the last time they cleaned up the property though, everything is filthy, old and worn out looking. The signs look stupid instead of old fashioned, and there is so much old "stuff" sitting around it looks like a yard sale in the front yard. I was soooo disappointed, my idea of rustic and charming is definitely different than the Whispering Tree Ranch owners. If they would clean it up, replace the old, aged burlap that is everywhere with some"new" old ideas it would be booked every week! I did like the tables they were very quaint, but not much more. Old rotting straw bales in 2 or 3 places didn't scream wedding to me, but maybe my expectations were too high. I would not book this venue unless a "whole house" housecleaning was done ,and new current ideas used to bring this great little ranch into the wedding market. Such a shame.....the bones are good but the outside needs a "do over"! read more

Jenny and Erika are amazing! From the very beginning they were flexible, affordable and reliable! My husband and I agree that we always felt at ease while meeting with them and we're able to fully trust them to bring our vision of our wedding day to life the day of. They definitely did not disappoint! We had Giddy Up Fixins, food was great, Tina was very flexible as well with our menu. Cakes by Leah was absolutely incredible! Her sea salt caramel was to die for and totally worth the extra couple bucks! We used Lumiere photography which Jenny recommended, and Ily was perfect! Encouraging, efficient and her pictures are amazing! We had Taylor Oulette as the dj, who was nearly impossible to get a response from prior to the wedding, in fact we never even got a chance to meet him before our actual wedding. I would NEVER have a wedding here. Yes, it is very cute but Jenny is unbelievable. When I received an email from her about the wedding package I called her to let her know that I got it and told her I would forward it to my wedding planner she said ok and asked me my planners name I told her and she said ok and I set up a time to go and see the venue. After I got to the venue and saw everything I asked if she could email me the contract so i could send it to my planner and her response was "we don't allow planners. We have had to many problems with planners and they never do their job, we always end up doing it for them" I then said "so I won't be able to have my wedding here? Her- "Have her send me a referral from a venue she has worked at" me- "if i get that to you will i be able to have my planner and do wedding" her- "well I will have to talk to my husband" Then she told me that she would get back to me taht night to let me know, she did Not! The next morning around 10:30 i call her she says she spoke to her husband but he didn't really give her an answer and would call me back within the hour, she did not I attempted to text/call her a few times with no answer Finally at 2:30 she finally returns my call and says yes I can have my planner and says "but you know how we feel about planners" I say fine I called her right back to make sure there weren't going to be an issues with my planner being there and she was going to be able to do her job she says yes if she can actually do it because we have never had a planner actually do there job here we always end up do everything for them and goes on to tell me that maybe I should go to a different venue. I have never heard of a venue not allowing a wedding planner. I could not believe how rude she was about it and that she actually told me that i should think about going to another venue!! But then this morning she has the nerve to text me to ask if I received her email with the contract in it to read over. I would never go here or recommend anyone to! read more
