I went to Rancho thinking I would get one of the best educations ever, many reviews (i'm assuming are either payed reviews or the extremely rich parents who's kids lied to them about enjoying it) seemed amazing. However, when I arrived I found all the kids my age to be the most stuck up, snobby, rich kids I had ever met. So extremely out of touch, dimwitted, racist, and tone deaf. I was sitting in study hall when I overheard a group of people gossiping about a senior the previous year who cheated on some very hard/important finals and got caught. The parents allegedly paid the principal an additional 25k (which is the same amount as tuition) to stay quiet about it and let him pass. However, that could easily be untrue and just a rumor (wouldn't be surprised with the amount of liars enrolled). I was in Integrated 2 math class. The absolute worst math teacher EVER had. I was more of a quiet kid, I wanted to keep to myself and not talk to any of the out of touch students there. She would often call me out during break asking why I wasn't with my friends, knowing I had pretty much none (by choice). She was more focused on being a "tough"/"strict"/"intimidating" teacher than a good teacher. I learnt more about her unnecessary classroom rules than about what I needed to pass the class. On the midterm final, I spent 2 weeks studying everything we had learnt throughout the year. We weren't made aware until the week of that we weren't allowed calculators on the test, although we had practiced with calculators the whole year. The final felt like a whole new class, for a moment I thought I was at the wrong final exam when I saw what was on it. The housekeeping of this school is very poorly looked after. It's disgusting, specifically the bathrooms. I can only speak for the girls bathroom, there was always toilets that hadn't been bothered to be flushed. The janitors do not do a good job to clean it up, there would be the same unflushed mess in the same toilets for a week straight. More importantly maybe the adults should teach these kids how to flush a toilet as their maids have been doing it all their lives. I will be calling out another teacher who I thankfully did not have but I did witness doing some strange things to a sophomore girl. We were doing presentations in class and this teacher came in to watch a group of girls who obviously he gets along with and has for a class. I always think it's a little strange whenever teachers and students have oddly close or even flirty relationships with one another. I didn't think too much of it until out of nowhere one of the girls screams bursting out of laughter. This 35+ man was tickling a 15 year old girls waist. Absolutely disgusting and predatory behavior. I won't be saying names but all I know is that he teaches science classes. They always emphasized how strict their rules were about dress code. About how skirts should be 4 inches from the middle of the knee, most girls were walking around with their underwear visible and nobody batted an eye. This place does not deserve to be ranked #2 in Arizona's private schools. Disgusting, sloppy, shady, and overall a complete joke.

Most of my teachers loved making learning in the classroom very fun and interesting. The "specials" teachers were amazing and helped me figure out the kind of stuff I love to do. I realize that the school has had a few changes in teachers and principals but I still consider it to be a GREAT school. I made many good memories and have very good friends that I grew up at the school. I always look forward to going back and visiting my teachers. So again I would recommend this school to anyone!

Fourth grade and up is when things got questionable for me. The instruction was mostly good, with interesting lessons and projects, but the way discipline was delt with was enough for me to rate it 1-star Fourth grade was when the teachers started heavily restricting students from simply being kids, and expecting us to be as mature as someone twice our age. In fourth grade alone we probably spent more than two weeks having "silent lunches". Fith grade improved, but only after 3 teachers got fired and re-hired. Part of this is because almost none of the teachers at this school have their certificate (because it's a charter school). Sixth grade only brought more issues with teachers, instructing students like it's high school or even college-level classes. I think I had 3 teachers in sixth grade that formally worked in high schools or middle schools, that got fired, and joined benchmark as almost a "last resort" for both parties. Teachers were constantly being fired or moved around. My younger brother now goes to Benchmark. He cries basically every day before and after school. He was threatened twice with suspension for messing around in the bathroom. This is why I am writing this. I don't think that this is fair or ethical. You shouldn't scare 5th graders like that for just being themselves. There just kids. Please stop. At least deal with this in a way where the student can learn from their mistakes. The students have also been lectured on using "inappropriate internet culture". I talked to my brother about this and he says that a majority of his class doesn't know what sort of material they are referencing when they use "internet culture", and the school isn't teaching them to learn, they are just, yet again, threatening suspension to any student who uses anymore "adult content" in their language. Overall, this school doesn't let kids be kids, doesn't seem to know how to hire good teachers, and can't seem to let kids learn from their mistakes. 1/10 would not recommend.

Overall, I had a pleasant experience being at NPX and graduating in 2025. However, there are a few…read morethings you should know about. For one, there are certain challenged children in the school that make it quite difficult to safely learn. I remember back in my wee ol days of freshman year, one of my fellow students threw a rock at my teacher. Another separate incident with a different student involved said student shoving another kid's hydroflask as far as he could down the toilet pipes, effectively disintegrating our school pipes. The same kid that threw the rock as mentioned previously, performed a parkour routine in the bathroom that led to 4 critically injured and one still in a coma to this day. I was one of the unfortunate souls affected by this great tragedy, otherwise known as "The Great Bathroom Reckoning". I think the teachers are great, save for one in specific that had a thing for kids, along with another teacher who steals baby photos and keeps them in their personal collection. The food they offer at lunch is decent at best. I once contracted Aids from one of their sandwiches, which ended up making sure I will never bear a child. They have since patched this glitch, and have been supplying better food since that incident. However, the vending machines are very expensive, and are likely linked to human trafficking. This has yet to be proven, but is actively being investigated upon by local authorities. Finally, the school dances. I simply requested that they play a certain jack black song, only for them to instead play Benson Boon and California Women. The events are often lackluster, aside from the occasional moment where the aforementioned mentally unstable children will partake in fights to the near death on top of the roof, whilest streaming it live on instagram for their fanbase to witness. I used to be one of these, the common riff raff, but have since changed my ways after I got hit on the head with a 15 pound rock so hard, I developed memory loss and forgot that I was kind of special. One last thing. There was an incident where I was happily eating my Thursday pizza slices (which sadly the school had cheaped out on that specific day), where a teacher came up to me and started calling me a big back and told me I reeked of calories. I still talk to my therapist about that to this day. Overall, I think NPX is a good place to send your kids, but be weary at the cost of good education.

In my experience, Great Hearts has not handled bullying the way a school should. It feels like…read morebullying often gets ignored or brushed off instead of being taken seriously, and that can make students feel like they are not protected or listened to. Some teachers also do not come across as kind or supportive, and certain staff members seem to take unnecessary actions that can make students feel unfairly targeted or punished. I also feel like the school has grown too fast and has not fully developed the systems needed to support students properly. Because of this, some decisions feel rushed, unnecessary, or undeserved. A school should be a place where students feel safe, respected, and treated fairly, but that has not been my experience here. Another issue is that Ms. Sood's grading can feel very unfair. In my experience, it sometimes feels like certain students are called on more than others or put on the spot in class, which can make the classroom feel uncomfortable instead of supportive. Overall, I think Great Hearts needs to do a much better job dealing with bullying, training staff to treat students with respect, and making sure grades, punishments, and classroom treatment are actually fair.

Between my 5 children this is the 5th preschool we've attended and my last 2 absolutely will never attend any other preschool. They value academic education thru art, music, sensory and small group activities; and place emphasis on emotional growth through research based social/emotional programs.
