They are able to look at a woman and GUESS what bra size she should be wearing (because you know, most of us don't wear the right size.) And after they guess they go out to the racks of bras and pick out the ones they think will fit best. And they're always right. It's AMAZING!!! I have never once been measured at Comfortably Yours and have never walked out without underpinnings that fit. The last time I went they only had a few items in my size. I found one that I loved and they ordered it for me in a few different colors. They are a bit pricey but once you know the wonder of wearing a brassiere that fits you'll gladly pay the price (besides being 1000x more comfortable you can instantly lose 10 lbs!) And they also have a great selection of pretty, feminine bras for all sizes (as opposed to a lot of places that a) don't carry your size or b) only have white/nude bras that look like they were stockpiled in the 50's for that ultimate pointy-boobed housewife look.) In addition to services for those of us with hard to fit bosoms, they also service mastectomy patients. And they have swimwear. Comfortably Yours is an oasis for those that look at Victoria's Secret and places like it, where bras are designed on the assumption that every woman looks like Gisele, and laugh at all those ladies spending too much for undergarments that won't fit and will fall apart after the first washing. Actually getting sized and realizing, like most women, you are wearing the totally wrong size and that's why you think all bras are evil. 2. Personal service. Someone else that knows what they are doing to measure you and listen to your issues and bring you all the things then help you pick which ones work 3. Getting to try on many different styles. See above. 4. They keep a wishlist for you and your size on file so you put someone else could buy you that bra that you just couldn't pull the trigger on. 5. You can make an appointment. Seriously, I've been putting this off for so long and then finally made a same day appointment and went in. Having a commitment helped me actually go. You can walk in too but if it's busy (there are only 2 fitting rooms and 2 attendants at this location) then an appointment is going to go ahead of a walk in, I assume. What are some reasons to avoid going bra shopping? The expense is a main one for me. Years ago, I made peace with the fact I'm never going to be able to wear flimsy Victoria Secrets things and even more robust bras you can find are usually not the right size. Nope, once you go European bras, you can't go back! Now, there are cuter bras in special sizes but the price might give you a heart attack. One I tried on was $169. Before putting it on, I had to talk to myself and say, you might have to buy this infernal thing if it solves all the problems and looks good. Fortunately, the color was doing nothing for me. I dared to ask if it came in any other colors and they said they didn't have any of the other colors. This leads us to the next issue with going someplace in person--they are not going to have the stock that online shopping has. But they will order things for you if they can and that saves you the trouble of having to buy a bunch of stuff online yourself and then having to return it if it doesn't work out. Lastly, on that note, sometimes the store price is still the full MSRP but the bra might be on sale elsewhere, so there's that risk/drawback as well. Maybe it's not feasible to buy all your bras at a bra shop but, it's definitely worthwhile if you've had a recent change in proportions or are ready to burn all your bras for some other reason.
