What a fun place to stumble upon! Terri, Cece, and Rooney really made my visit here incredible! They were so kind and helpful. They also told me to check out all their fun sales posted on their Facebook and Instagram. I loved talking to them. Cece was so funny! Whispers of Time has a little bit of everything. Need a table cloth? They'll have it. Need a children's book? They'll have it. A cooler? Yup. You name it! It's a fun place to explore. It's the type of place you can spend hours in looking at every little thing or run in and run out if needed. I bought three gorgeous tea cups and a table cloth. I was hesitant on purchasing the table cloth at first, but Terri worked with me for the price. I found some things to be a bit pricey, but loved that they seem open to working with you. Whispers of Time has been a local Lakeside shopping haven for years. They have some good bargains here, hit and miss. Sometimes they will have a $1.00 sale table out front, so check that out. The owner and staff are pleasant and helpful. The prices are mostly reasonable, but some things are priced a little high since their competitors have some better discounts on things like lamps, jewelry and decor. I did, however, snag an awesome deal on a Fiesta set! What a find! (They also mark down some of their merchandise so look for the slashed / tags!). The selection is extensive, so if you're looking for something special, they just may have it. It's pretty jam packed in there, so be careful walking down the aisles. There is stuff in every nook and cranny so you really have to have eagle eyes! All and all, it's a nice store and I always make it a part of my shopping circuit when I'm in the area! read more

The lady running this place is a class act. During the Covid hoax she never gave anybody a hard time about masks. She was one of THOSE businesses. One of the good guys! Nice store in Lakeside. Lots of stuff... Just not anything I was looking for. Also, when a store is this crowded, it makes for an overwhelming experience for a shopper. Not everybody wants to or has time to look at everything with a careful eye. read more

Yet another consignment store in Lakeside, this is a store packed with stuff to sort through. Everything is in good condition, and most of it is vintage (or almost vintage). They have a little bit of everything in here from what I can tell- I've seen couches, tin tile picture frames, complete bedroom sets, bridge arm lamps, carnival glass tea cups, colanders, fur coats, and chandeliers with tea cups on them. They have two rooms in the back that have seasonal items and a small floral counter. They have a decent assortment of vintage linens and glassware, plus a second of children's toys and books. Truthfully, I think this place is a bit overpriced, and some of the items on the walls are actually not for sale, which seems weird to me. On the other hand, the staff is very friendly and it's an interesting place to dig around in. read more

You never know what you will find - it is a great mix of old and new, but not overwhelming. (There isn't anything here that you would have to fix up yourself) There is a good mix of items here: furniture, dishes, a bit of clothing, home decor. I just visited this store today on the recommendation of a friend. I just moved back to the area and need to furnish basically the whole house, so I'm doing a lot of consignment stuff. As soon as I walked in, the two ladies behind the counter (one was the owner) were SUPER friendly! They greeted me and told me about all the sales for the day. The store is packed (like most consignment stores), but it's still pretty easy to navigate and get a good look at everything. I found a few things I wanted (well....I found about 50 things I wanted, but I found a few that I could reasonably get today!). I found this gorgeous seafoam green leather chair for my living room that was EXACTLY the type and color I was looking for. I also got this gorgeous old distressed desk, a table and chair set, a couple of awesome wall hangings (one had old exerts from fashion magazines in each compartment...so cool!). PLUS, they deliver locally for $35! When I was leaving, the owner gave me a gift basket with a bottle of wine and some other goodies, a book, and some other fun stuff and they really couldn't have been nicer! I will DEFINITELY be back to buy more stuff for the house! read more

This is one of my most favorite consignment shops in Richmond, VA. Everyone there is very friendly and helpful. I consign with them as well as buy many of the items they showplace. I like to get emails notifiying me when they have a 10 or 20% off sale. On Mother's Day this year, they had 25% off of everything except clothing. Its a good way to pick up early birthday and Xmas gifts for the family. I encourage all my friends to go by and see them and sign up as a consigner if they want to get rid of many items no longer used. It's great to walk in and be told you have a check waiting for you! The extra money goes into my retirement account. The owner, Terri, does the majority of the decorating and is a real talent at the creative way she displays the merchandise. They prefer everything to be clean and in good working condition and they tend to discourage 'dollar store' items since they seek to display a unique assortment. Xmas is a really fun time for the Lakeside Community because many shops stay open on 1 special day until 9 pm for holiday shopping. They even have a free Trolley Car that runs up and down Lakeside Ave. on that day that will drop you off at the various stores for Xmas shopping.
