How can you go wrong with an $8 basic car wash and the use of free vacuuming. Will be my go to.

FIRST OFF, I've been coming to Buff Masters of Wilmington for over 6 years now. I hate writing…read moresuch a negative review but they deserve this. I come on Wax Wednesday's and got the top tier clay bar wax special, which was $139.95 after service charge, truck charge and douche of my mag wheels. I got there at 11:28 from the time of the receipt. At 1:10, an hour and a half later, they discovered that my truck had been parked on the side of the business and NOTHING HAD BEEN STARTED. 30 minutes later my truck was supposedly done. When I went to get my supposedly ready truck I came out to find a single old non-English speaking man still spraying detail spray on the grill. I'm absolutely certain no clay bar had been used, though I didn't watch it. The sloppy work, missed areas was evident. I had to go to my first GMC service appointment or I would have stayed to make them "make it right" but sadly I couldn't because I was already late. When I got home I went around the truck and even looked on the roof as I was sure I'd see they hadn't done it as the little old man, even on a step stool wouldn't have been able to reach the roof. What I found proved it. He just reached up as far as he could reach and didn't do the roof at all. Sadly Buff Masters has lost all respect in my books. They are both a victim of their success and personnel shortages. The people they do have are scrambling back and forth and no one is actually controlling the yard as a foreman. Quality of their work represents a complete rip off to the consumer. They are not only cutting corners but in my case, deceptively charging me for premium wax bar treatment and 6 mo sealing wax with just substituting a quick detail spray in its place. I can assure you, this was my last visit to Buff Masters of Wilmington NC. I also intend to ask the NC State Attorney General's Consumer Fraud division to come do an investigation of Buff Masters to see if they too can catch them in this obvious consumer bait & switch misrepresentation of services being provided. In my opinion, Buff Masters needs to shut down its operations, retool, regroup, and put in place a clear process to ensure the consumer is not being ripped off by shoddy, corner cutting work like I received. Then reopen and do a better job of managing their processes. They've enjoyed huge success but have lost sight on what garnered them that business in the first place. They're upping their prices, as all businesses have had to do, but from the services I received, this is just going to get them more profits at the expense of the consumer who, based on my visit, are being short changed and ripped off.

One thing people need to understand is that this is a full-service car wash, not a $300 professional detailing shop. If you're expecting every tiny speck, scratch, and stain to disappear, your expectations probably aren't realistic. For the money, especially the Manager's Special, you get excellent value. It includes the basic service--prep wash, machine wash, underbody rinse, towel dry, wheel cleaning, interior vacuuming, window cleaning, dusting, and door jambs--plus a coat of polish, fragrance, and tire gloss. That's a lot more than you get from a typical drive-through wash where you sit in your car for three minutes and leave with a wet vehicle. I also appreciate that they offer additional services like steam cleaning, leather conditioning, hand waxing, and bug, sand, pet hair, and pollen removal if your vehicle needs extra attention. They make it clear they're willing to accommodate special requests whenever possible. What keeps me coming back is the staff. They're friendly, professional, and they work hard. On a hot, humid North Carolina day, these folks are outside cleaning vehicles one after another, and it shows they genuinely try to do a good job. Is every wash absolutely perfect? No. But compared to several other car washes I've tried around Wilmington, Coastal consistently does a better job and provides better value. One final thought: please tip the crew. They're working in the heat and humidity, moving quickly from vehicle to vehicle, and a few extra dollars is a small way to recognize the effort they put into taking care of your car. Highly recommended. I'll be back.

There were still visible dirt, dust, and spots that were clearly missed, and it looked like the inside was barely touched. I expected a basic interior clean to at least look noticeably better, and that wasn't the case at all. For the price and a tip, this was really disappointing.

I brought my new vehicle in expecting exterior detailing and scratch correction based on the discussions beforehand. The final result did not meet my expectations, particularly regarding the scratch repair and overall exterior finish. The invoice listed "One Step Paint Correction" with a hand wash service for $200, but later I was told the pricing was actually intended to be broken down differently. That was never reflected on the invoice itself, which created confusion and disagreement regarding the services performed. To be fair, after I raised concerns, the company did offer to redo the work and provide additional buffing at no extra charge. However, by that point I was no longer comfortable bringing the vehicle back because the situation had already escalated into discussions involving collections, theft of services, the sheriff's department, DMV involvement, and vehicle liens over what I believed was ultimately a disputed service issue. I did ultimately pay the invoice to close the matter out, but overall I found the communication and handling of the dispute unnecessarily aggressive for a customer who acknowledged work was performed and attempted to discuss concerns in good faith. My advice to future customers would be to make sure all services and pricing are extremely detailed and itemized in writing beforehand.
