Avoid at all costs, I went to this location and one of the workers was very rude and unprofessional yelled at me, and was using profanity loud enough for my young child to hear. Instead I recommend using take 5 oil change, they're close much more professional, convenient!! read more

I have been a customer of this business for about 6 years. I just found out recently that they have been lying to me for all that time. I always remind them to grease the chassis. They always respond that the chassis can't be greased. I have it in writing on one of my service receipts. "No zerc fittings". Zercs are how you grease the chassis. I recently went to another oil change mechanic and he finds 8 zirc fittings. These should be greased at least once a year. I wonder how many other customers are getting ripped-off. read more

We had a tire repaired on our rental car. They have very clean shop with wonderful people. Terry our tech found the hole and patched the tire quickly. Had state inspection done and oil change. Good, no appointment needed, walk in. Bad, no appointment needed, walk in. They can get backed up but that's to be expected with walk-in's. They are very nice and do good work. Good value for the money. I've had my cars serviced there and will continue to do so. read more

After the severe rain and flooding, the rear brakes of my Ford Escape sounded bad -- REALLY bad! I called several places for availability, yet most were booked until after the holidays or non-committal or wanted me to just drop it off. Even though there was a 20 minute wait, I showed up and explained my situation. Donna was kind, courteous, and did everything she could to help me. She assured me that the team would take care of me although it may take a little time to get the parts. What I thought would be an entire day of waiting, I was out in 2 hours! I've been coming here now for the past three years. Service is slow, but they are busy. My complaint is that the don't DO what they say they do. I have all my receipts and EVERY one says that my air filter is "OK". Two weeks after my last service visit my check engine light came on. After having it checked out, it came back that I had a bad O2 sensor. Before taking it to a mechanic and forking out a $400 repair, I checked the air filter as that can be a potential reason for the code. It, almost looked like it had a birds nest in there. This is a fairly new truck and you could tell that the screws on the lid had never been touched. Upon replacing it (and the cabin air filter which was just as bad) My truck now runs fine and gets 1.5 miles per gallon better gas mileage. Point is...all the receipts I got out (and still have) all indicate that it was good. How many people have a machine to check these codes like I do? How many would have just forked it over to a mechanic to spend LOTS of unneeded money. These guys are a mill....not doing what they say. BEWARE! read more

OMG...worst experience I have ever had getting a simple oil change! I walked in the door, told the guy at the counter I had a Fleet Vehicle and needed an oil change. No problem he said, should be about 45 minutes. An hour an a half later, they finally pull my car in and then they tell me, they are not a Valvoline store and dont take the fleet card!!! Are you kidding me! Now I have to pay out of my own pocket!!! And while I was waiting, there other customers came in and said that they had called ahead and were told on the phone that they could get an inspection today, but when they got here, were told, I'm sorry, we are really busy, we can't get you in today...this place is poorly managed, thev employees are super slow, they dont care about their customers at all!! BEWARE!! Then they charged me $90 for an oil change!!!! Theft!!! read more

I bought 2 tires from them and had a front end alignment done just a couple of months ago. I had an appointment scheduled which they were about 45 minutes behind in getting me in, but I wasn't upset by that because I saw the attention they were giving the lady in front of me. I honestly thought this was a sign that they truly cared about their customers. Well last night the low tire pressure light came on in my car, I stopped and tried to put air in my tires and the light did not go off. So this morning I had to be just up the road from Southport lube and decided to run my car down there to have them put air in the tires. I go inside and tell them what I need and the lady tells me that she'll have to put me in line and it would be about an hour (who wants to wait an hour for air?) I guess customer service is not top priority unless they are going to be making a few dollars off of them. I just told her no thanks I'll go somewhere else. I did take my car just down the road and they put air in my tires and didn't even charge me. Guess where my business is going? It won't be Southport Lube. read more

Strongly suggest saying away from Southport Lube Center / Valvoline Express Care on Long Beach Road, Southport. Our 10-yr old car came with window tinting when we bought it new, that we never changed and for the past 9 years had no trouble passing inspection. The State requirements have not changed, nor has our tinting, yet they failed our vehicle. Then they tried selling us a service to remove the factory installed tint and sell us new windshield wipers we didn't need either. Even though we never had a problem before they refused to give us our car back until we paid. read more
