Cruising in my X5 FRANK decided a caffinated pit stop was in order. I'd bookmarked this place…read morealready so I felt today was the day to see the hype about this old coffee joint. It was ok, but I'm a hard coffee conisour so it will take a lot to impress FRANK. Yet this charming place reeked of localism and I loved it. So if you had time you could lounge around inside and enjoy communicating with humans vs everyone reviewing YELP or other social media distractions. I witnessed people communicating freely with each other.. For the beverage portion of my tour well I stood in line and viewed the chalkboard of choices. 2 ladies handled the coffee machinery like champs. You could feel & hear the grinding of beans along with the wave of hot vapor being produced by the espresso machine's boiler thats used through a steam wand to heat and aerate milk for a beverage. You know each drink is created with love whether you like it or not.... As for treats well many options in the case and even a few bananas for the health nuts... I'm sold on the unique coffee place regardless of if I loved my beverage or not. Just something about hanging out here did it for FRANK...

Don't have to commit to a full bar when I'm watching my sugar intake. Or at least trying to.. Relatively fast turn around time and cozy seating. Do you want to have the best corn dog of your life? If the answer is yes, then you should visit…read moreBob's Espresso. Bob's is bucking the latest health trends and leaning into life's simple pleasures, namely their iconic dipped-meat-stick. In my opinion, their snowy little shack should be named after the dogs themselves, instead of the espresso. They do have a plethora of drinks that you can choose from, but I can't speak on those. I was locked in on the main prize all day, taking down two of these monster dogs. You'll immediately be taken back to a simpler time, maybe at a state fair or your local carnival, which was probably the last time you had one. Your impression of a corn dog is probably that it has too much breading, like a sausage wrapped in a pancake. But no, these are much more dog-forward. The batter is only a thin layer, making for an impeccable crunch on every bite. The inner-dog is flavorful and juicy. My only gripe is the lack of variety in sauces. I've proclaimed many times here that I am a sauce boi, so mustard and ketchup alone will not cut it. A mayo-based sauce would have taken this to the next level as a dog shop. But I can't take away points for that, since this is still the best of my life. A worthwhile stop after a day of hiking, skiing, or shameless indulgence.

They have several alternative milk options, are very reasonably priced and offer $1 refills on drip coffee, and have lots of pastry (including gluten free, vegan, and gluten-free vegan options!) options as well. The medium drip coffee wasn't my all time fav but wasn't bad either! Staff were super nice, and service was quick. There is a huge amount of indoor and outdoor seating; it was a place where you could both be there to read/study or to catch up with friends. The best part is that the outdoor seating has a beautiful view of Mt. Sai, the most popular hike in the area. We will definitely come back for our coffee needs when passing through North Bend. PS they have a loyalty program if you're local!

Extremely Disappointing Customer Service…read more We stopped at Huxdotter Coffee in North Bend on Friday and ordered a 16 oz PBJ Smoothie, a 16 oz Mango Smoothie, and a ham and cheese croissant through the drive-through. At the window, we received the croissant and the 16 oz PBJ Smoothie, but were handed a 12 oz Mango Smoothie. We immediately pointed out that the drink was the wrong size. Rather than simply acknowledging the mistake and correcting the order, the employee told us that the order had been entered as a 12 oz drink. We reiterated that we had specifically ordered a 16 oz Mango Smoothie. Instead of saying something as simple as, "I'm sorry, we'll remake that for you," we were told that she would have to refund the original charge and then charge us again for the 16 oz drink. Seriously? Apparently, Huxdotter has developed an innovative new approach to customer service: If we make a mistake, the customer gets to fix it. The mistake wasn't ours. We ordered a 16 oz drink, and the employee or the person taking the order entered it incorrectly. Yet instead of taking responsibility for the error and providing the customer service one would reasonably expect, we were essentially given a bureaucratic explanation of why correcting their mistake was going to require additional transactions. We were on our way to an appointment and didn't have time to wait around sorting out an issue that should have taken less than a minute to resolve. We simply said, "Never mind," and left. What is especially disappointing is that this wasn't about the cost of a smoothie. It was about how the situation was handled. Mistakes happen. Good businesses acknowledge them, apologize, and make them right. Telling the customer that they have to go through a refund and repurchase process because the business entered the order incorrectly is simply poor customer service. Unfortunately, this experience left such a bad impression that we won't be going back. There are plenty of coffee shops willing to treat their customers better.

We looked forward to grabbing a drink in the morning on the way to our hike as well as our post hike lattes enjoyed out on the Adirondack chairs on the front patio. One day we even ordered a couple ice-less iced lattes to enjoy the next morning since we needed to head out on trail before they opened. As for the coffee, it's a darker roast than we personally prefer but that's just a matter of personal taste. As a home espresso enthusiast, I really appreciated their execution of preparing the drinks. Everything was consistent and done well. The coffee shop itself is a very warm and welcoming decor and seems to function as an oasis for PCT hikers and Cascade bikepackers for good reason. As someone who once did a coast to coast bike ride, I would have loved places like this.
