Friendly service and nice variety of old Timey candy…read more Ice cream in the back as well as some sorbet and overall a cute little stop to support a small business in the community of Roslyn. Fun fact. It used to be a bank. Peek in the back to see the safe!!

We were down in Cle Elum on a meatscapade when we decided then we should grab some sweets. The kids definitely didn't object! This place is a small spot located on a corner in downtown Roslyn. Currently, they're only letting small groups of six or less inside, so you may have to wait outside for a bit. The folks inside got everybody through quickly. They have a moderate selection of some old-school candy, including some really old-school stuff that would get your grandparents excited! It also got some more modern, old stuff like big league chew. Nothing made you feel more alive than shredded I will come design to look like tobacco! A big selling point is the fact that they have Winegars ice cream as well as a number of other funky flavors. One of the kid got pop rocks ice cream, another rocky road, and another a delightful sorbet. They also have some pretty cool antique showcases that housed the candy. You definitely have to watch the kids as their favorite thing while we were there was to lean on the glass case from the 1890s. One of the best things we found were the handmade chocolates that they have that came in a number of different flavors. The rosemary with sea salt, three citrus and lavender were the favorites, no the other four or five options that they had looked very nice. It was pretty cool to be able to get high end chocolates as well as gummy candy in the shape of cheeseburgers from the same place. The prices were good and the selection with solid and fun. This is definitely a spot you should check out!

Chelan Toys & Sweets is the second place in Downtown Chelan that serves hard scoop ice cream, with the other being the ice cream parlor located in The Landing. Both of these places are within short walking distance of each other on E Woodin Ave, on opposite sides of the street. The prices at Chelan Toys & Sweets (see photo) are lower than those at The Landing, and they also make floats, flurries, shakes and dirty sodas. While the ice cream at The Landing had more of a gourmet or homemade flavor, the ice cream here was still good enough for our party, especially when it came down to the kids' tastes. Comparing our separate visits to these two establishments, we spent about $30 at The Landing and $20 at Chelan Toys & Sweets for similar orders/quantities of ice cream. Also worth mentioning: the wait lines are much shorter here than at The Landing (probably because tourists see The Landing when they first come into town, and not this place). The staff who served us was very cordial and shared their opinions on the store's most popular dirty soda (when asked), as well as let us sample a few of the cream flavors (they had 24) in advance. Bringing up The Parlor as a comparison one more time, although their ice cream was good, it came at a higher cost combined with longer lines and impersonal, "assembly line" service (with no samples). In contrast, the ice cream counter at Chelan Toys & Sweets had more menu items/options, lower prices, and a personal, "local" (not touristy) atmosphere.
