We played the old course which I have to say, didn't impress us, visually or by its design. We walked the first 9 and it was a relatively easy walk which was nice. The cart path guard rails could be more rickshaw friendly. The signage was quite lacking and often left us trying to figure out which way to go next. One sign telling walkers to head straight - into the woods - with no visible path or markers as to where the next hole was, was the biggest puzzle. Once we walked around the cart path and could see where the next hole was, it made more sense. There are no indications on the score card of how the course or holes are laid out. For the back 9, we did take a cart and bought their guide book. I would call the guide book a must for this course, though I have certainly seen batter books with more details and measurements included. It seams this course is far more favorable for repeat playing, and perhaps not the best option for visitors or travelers. One of the ponds were full of foam, there were many down trees and it looks like this course has been through some difficult weather. There was not much at all for interesting visual appeal. The man made ponds were square with no rock boarders. rather dull in my opinion. We did stop in at their lounge for a flat bread pizza, which took well over 25 minutes, the chicken was a bit dry and a third of the crust was burnt black. The log cabin clubhouse is quite nice. The entrance to the washrooms is extremely dark, making you feel your way around for the door, when you come in out of the sun. The women's washroom has had a flickering light that mimics a dim strobe light. The stall doors have very large separations and could use a fix-up. I've seem worse however I have seen much better at a "golf resort". We went back this past weekend and played the links course down the road. We had a much more enjoyable time with the guide book and map in hand. The signage and sight lines were also better on this course. There is some distance between some of the holes, but it is not too bad for hills and we would likely walk it next time. On a weekday afternoon, there were not many people heading out. We were able to play at a comfortable pace with out being held up and finished in under 4 hours. We did have a fun round. We have PrivPlay cards which provide a discount on the round and cart at listed locations (the links course), but we were denied the cart discount. We weren't going to bother making it an issue. In general, the staff were friendly. It was not too hot either round, being late May and June 2nd. There were some nicely treed areas and shelters that would offer good shade in the summer, on either course. I won't judge the fairways, tee boxes, and greens too harshly as it is early in the season still. The greens were not fast either round we've played, but there are some interesting curves and break to account for. In all, we will likely return and give the old course a second try and replay the links course. We are not likely to order food. For those with an iPhone or Android device, there is a free GPS app available, For those business people with a Blackberry, you're SOL.

Great value as well, especially Mon to Wed. Use a cart on your first time there, because there are some long distances between greens and the next tee box which often slow down all the golfers behind you. It's a fun putting course and her horses are so friendly. Perfect riders, and they listen and follow direction well. When I was there they were just finishing up a spot for their drive range, it's done now as well. The surroundings at the house are comfortable and cozy, and the meals are awesome! This was my first time visiting Billy D's and we only came across it because there was a wild fire…read morenearby our usual driving range. Am I ever glad we found this place!! We came at 7:50 even though it says they close at 8pm the owner was so nice and let us get a couple buckets of balls. We brought the kids to practise hitting some balls and they loved it here. The owner told us he just invested and upgraded the tee off mats and tarmac where you tee off. It looks so nice!! The greens you stand on are brand new and cushy! It's clean here and they even have flushable toilets. In the clubhouse (which is accessible with a ramp) there are some chairs and tables. It's slightly outdated inside the clubhouse but you're not really spending time in there anyways. There is a small store to buy Powerade and other things. And also a deck with some tables and chairs too. There are a few benches for sitting while you wait or watch people tee off. They also have a putting area to practise your putting on which is a nice addition. Overall this place is a great small business and was not busy at all which was really nice! I have been to Billy D's many times before to just hit balls. The prices are reasonable. The parking lot is gravel but there's a paved lot right next to it. The facility itself has all the necessities. Every person who I have met working there seems very genuine and nice. Sometimes you need to wait a minute as they are giving tips to people who are at the range. The boxes worked well and being right handed, there were tons of them. The putting green is smaller if you're going there to practice that. In regards to our lesson, Bruce was awesome! He got to know us and worked together as well as individually. My husband's swing improved by 500% in just one lesson. I have done a decent amount of golfing but have picked up some awful habits. Bruce was able to zone into what parts of my swing were giving me trouble. I haven't hit the ball that straight... ever. We ended up booking a series of four lessons as we were so impressed. Even after our lesson was over, Bruce continued to check in on us which is pretty amazing. The range is located near the Costco on 91st. I almost didn't want to write this review as it's a little secret and never seems too busy. I changed my mind as I would love this business to flourish. If you want a casual but still professional place to go hit some balls or to have an awesome lesson, look no further!

We hymned and hummed but quickly came to the conclusion that our family for the first time would golf. We walked into the club house and were immediately greeted with open arms by the staff. My partner, Karen, and our children waited in the car as daddy got everyone clubs and carts. Daddy even snuck a few beers in the bag without Karen knowing. That was my only victory that day. We began to golf. It was a long 9 holes but Sally, my daughter, was surprisingly good. Even the players behind us were cheering her on. I think the gentleman's name was Brennan. He was a member which surprised me because every time I looked back he was shooting his ball out of the rough and tall grass areas. Anyways, It was a joyous experience and my family now loves golf. We had a blast. Thank you Meadow Lands for being part of a great memory.

Customer service was the best. And then course was amazing. We went for 9 holes and one club member was added to our party of three who was a professional golf instructor/coach! The weather was fantastic and we had an amazing experience. Before we drove away, we were already planning our next visit! :) I highly recommend this place and going forward it would be my most favourite golf course in Edmonton! :)
