This review is more about what we saw and learned walking around the library as tourists. The library was first established in 1859 as the Uxbridge Mechanics Institute and Library. In 1981, this library was deemed a historic building. We saw a sculpture outside the library. Turning of the page is the sculpture's name, created by Wynn Walters in July 2019. We looked through the window to see what the library looked like. We were looking at the Blu-ray and DVDs section on the main floor. The selection was decent. I saw a little free pantry, so we headed over to check it out. It was nicely stocked. We wished that he had something to contribute to it. There was a water fountain across from it. It caters to humans and pets who need to quench their thirst. It's a cute area. There is a table where you can play checkers or chess. The flowers around the library looked nice. We learned that the Uxbridge Horticulture Society helped beautify the library's exterior. Uxbridge has two public libraries. We stumbled on the original. There is also Zephyr Public Library, which is further north. The library is closed on weekend. Its hours of operation differ between what was posted on the door and what is stated online. I'd call the library before heading over. It's a cool library. Here's hoping that we can visit it when we are back and it's not closed. (308)

Just chilling here in Aurora Library is a great relaxing experience. Then this lady talking on the phone so loud wake me up from my dream.....I don't really want to know about her love life really... Wifi access only offers to library card holders.. so out of towners like me are out of luck!

The Civic Centre Resource Library is the latest addition to the downtown Vaughan area. The library…read moreis still being constructed and growing its staff. I visited on the 2nd day of opening and the trees by the entrance weren't planted yet and there were 2-3 staff members at the front. Self checkout wasn't working yet. There is plenty of parking space outside. There are also two EV charging stations for the environmentally conscious. The only annoying thing about driving was that the entrance faces double-yellow lines, so you can only turn in (and out) going west. The inside of the library is really nice, with high ceilings and lots of windows that let in natural light. I noticed the start of a coffee bar, which should be a nice addition. There are tons of stocked shelves, but also quite a number that are still empty. There are many comfortable chairs throughout the library, including a few C-shaped chairs outside the children's books section. In the middle of the library is an outdoor courtyard to enjoy during the sunny summer months. One of the nice features of the library are the numerous semi-private rooms. The rooms are encased in see-through colored glass, so you can see if they're occupied. There's also a computer lab with small form factor HP desktops. For those with their own mobile devices or laptops, free wifi is also available.

Want to host a meeting? Book out a room. What to record a podcast? No problem. Want to use a 3D Printer? We got a few, son! Want to sit on a rooftop freaking patio and relax? Welcome home. Never mind the vast library of video games, Blu-Rays, audiobooks, this place has it all. I love that they even have exercise bikes set up so you can get a workout in while you read. Like what?? Insane. What a win for the city of Vaughan.

Love the colour theme too, so full of energy! Smell of paint and brand new books! Shelves and shelves of them... A multi level parking garage! Something in life that good can be free sometimes! Free open Wifi for everyone... But if you are into other language books, you would be disappointed, there are only 1 small shelf for other language right next to those hundred of Japanese comic books, maybe I should just read those instead....

Getting a library card set up was super easy, and the guy helping me at the desk was friendly and helpful about showing me all of the cool things the library has to offer these days. There is a 3D printer that is pretty cool, although I'm not sure personally what I would use it for. They not only have books, but magazines, DVDs, Blu-Rays, TV seasons, video games, and audio/ebooks to borrow. You can borrow 100 items at a time...WOW. I love borrowing movies from the library for free!! It's almost like Blockbuster still exists. This is a small library, but it's still full of TONS of great books. The lower level is mostly kids stuff and it was a little louder, but upstairs was library-quiet and wonderful. Parking is free for 3 hours when you get it validated, which is great. Also free wifi, which is another bonus. I'm so thankful for the library and everything that it offers...I'm glad I checked this one out!

Angus Glen Public Library is nice and roomy, with plenty of windows, skylights and high ceilings. There are plenty of seatings (sofas and seats) so you can just lounge around or you can use the private rooms if you want to have some privacy. There are good selections of current paperbacks and best sellers. Most of them are in great conditions and some of them brand news since the library is only 3 years old or so. I really enjoy spending a hour or 2 on my day off having a cup of coffee and lounging around using their wifi internet and read some magazines. Of course the best thing is the free wifi!!!

We went to the desk clerk and explained what happened, and we asked her when do the books get reshelved so we can find them and sign them out again. She took her time and went to the drop box area and looked through all the books and found the ones my daughter needed and signed them out for us. Wow, 5 stars for customer service experience !!! Totally made our day. :) 4.5 stars - 5 stars for this library!!

The lights reminds me of moons and stars. Open concept space with comfy colourful seats and ledges that showcase books. You can also sit on the ledges below the moon and stars lighting as you can see in my pics. This is one fun library! They have 3D printing and button making for free on the daily!! There was a game by the kid section of the library and there was a sticker station (not sure if this is offered on the daily). The 3d printing allows you to make miniature toys and learn how to design your 3d art. There is a two hour limit on the 3d printing. Very enjoyable!

There's a separate reading room that has a variety of newspapers, both current editions and back issues. Downstairs is a large children's section with books, CDs, DVDs, video games and board games. It's easy to reserve items including those located at other branches. My whole family loves it here and frequent often.

Likely due to the amalgamation in the late 90's, the Toronto Public Library couldn't have two reference libraries. The Toronto Reference Library retained its name. This one changed its name to North York Central Library. I don't recall when the North York City Centre subway station changed its name to North York Centre. I remember frequenting Coles and the food court back then. I should go back. I'm sure everything looks and is different. I like this library a lot. It's spacious. If you need a place to quietly read a book or study, there were plenty of tables and chairs to do it. It's still the case to this day. It's a popular place for students to visit, do research, and study. I like that there are lots of floors to spread out. There were seven when I was last there. This library went through major renovations back in 2017. Three floors were affected. This section was reopened a year later. These days, it has auditorium, a Braille writer, magnifiers, and wheelchair-accessible furniture. It also has wifi. I always liked the DVDs, CDs, and other media formats. This library had the best selection. I miss having a Toronto library card. Back then, I used to live in Toronto before I moved to Markham with my parents. I then studied in Toronto, so having a library card was free. I neither work nor live in Toronto. I refuse to shell out money for a Toronto library card. Instead, I'm content with my Markham, Mississauga, and Brampton ones. (43)

I went there at around 11am and was happy to grab a table in by the windows. I stayed there till closing and must say that it is a good spot if you want to study in groups or individually. The single study booths are hard to grab as they are on a first come first serve basis.

Whitby Public Library has all the bell and the whistles and anything that I want in my dream library... I think I can even organize my "dream" wedding here! The only problem is the limited number of parking spots. Only around 15 or so for a large library this size (it has more computer terminals than parking lots!!) Of course there are some reasonable municipal parking lots right next to the library at 50 cents a hour and free on evenings, weekends and holidays.

So I opened up yelp and came across this one not to far from school. The building looks very pretty. And the inside is nice and quiet. Very organized and clean. There are two levels one has a few computers in the far corners and the second level has some tables and couches to do some work. Asides from having books on both floors. It also has a cafe in the building, which was neat. I haven't seen a library with a cafe before. I had chosen the couch spot to do some work and sit by the fireplace since it was cold outside. It was quiet and I was able to finish a lot of work while I was there. I would definitely recommend this library to groups as well, since they have rooms you can book to do group assignments. The only thing I would say sucks is the parking, I wasn't able to find parking near the library so I had to park at a P lot, which wasn't too expensive. $1 for 1 hour.
