We are visiting from from CA and saw a few of these viral videos and it's just a few blocks from where we're staying. Its on the corner in a small plaza with a decent amount of parking. We got there around 11:45AM on a Sunday. It was pretty busy, and we waited about 10-15 minutes. You grab a little slip at the counter and fill out your order, the guy behind the counter did it for me on our visit. This is a straight up legit butcher shop with, lots of special cuts, seasoning, sauces, hot sides and tons of stuff in between. There is no seating inside and it's a bit of tight space. We got the Excalibear (bone in) which comes with pickles, onions and cream cheese, no modifications are allowed. Excalibear Sandwhich 4.5 Stars - this thing is huge and comes on a large soft French bread halve. The meat was really flavorful, tender, and not overly juicy/wet. And that fat, it was rendered down perfectly. I didn't get any real flavor from the cream cheese or onion, but the pickle was a nice break in the sweet BBQ sauce. I would have loved a little bit of heat in there. Pecan Butter Cheesecake - 3 Star - a good size slice with a chocolate graham(?) crust and topped with ribbons of pecan Carmel-esque cream. It's from an outside vendor so I don't think it's made in house. Very rich but not to sweet. We called later in the day to see if we could order over the phone, we couldn't and they can (and did) sell out already.

This place is WILD! The sandwiches are sensationally delicious, especially the Excalibear- a ginormous short rib sandwich with pickles and barbecue. It's insanely, ridiculously good. Seriously check this place out; I can't wait to try other things!!

Went recently for the Excalibur & a pulled porchetta sandwich. I don't feel like the portions were as stacked as you see some of the local food influencers get, but other than that it's a great place. Don't plan to eat there at a table, there's one outside and I can't recall if there were any inside but it's small & if there's a crowd you're packed in there. The staff were all super friendly and helpful, they were crazy busy but you'd never tell if they were stressed or overwhelmed. We will definitely be down to try again, when we are in the area next!

Me and the family decided to head down and see the boys at White Bear Butchery to try their viral Excalibur sandwiche. This beauty consisted of 10 hour smoked beef rib, pickles, onion and crème cheese all on a French baguette. Let me tell you every bite was absolutely amazing! Do yourself a favor and go grab one asap!

Flicker meats - now white bear butchery This place is tremendous. The staff always seems to be having a good time and are very helpful. My wife and I love to come here for a sandwich. The meat is great too but the sandwiches are the real standout. They are some of the best I've had. They are are like a work of art and seem to be made with care and not just slapped together. We can easily split one between the two of us but I've also polished one off on my own. We most recently had the porketta and I'd recommend you anyone. The interior of the store is pretty fun too.

This place is actually pretty damn amazing. The details of the decor they put in to this place are absolutely gorgeous, unique and clever or shall I say "cleaver". Service was attentive from everyone. So many delicious items to choose from there. I came specifically to grab a sandwich after doing a quick search online, knowing I would be in the area. An fyi for first timers, there's a little form at the first counter on the right, just after you walk in. Use a form for each sandwich you'd like, hand it to the person behind the counter and wait for them to call your name. I am so pleasantly surprised at how delicious the sandwich was. The bread, THE BREAD, was perfectly toasted but not hard. It was crispy, yet light and airy--so good. It looks super bready but it was not. The crust on their brisket, chef's kiss. My son even grabbed a White Bear Butchery cap cause they've got it all here. Needless to say, I will be back and look forward to trying more things.

    Excalibear sandwich

First time here to get the Excalibear sandwich because of a video I saw online. I've lived near here for a long time and didn't know it had sandwiches as well. This place was packed and all ordering the same sandwich to which I waited an hour and 10 minutes for from order to hand off. I also got the pork & hog. Both sandwiches did not disappoint. Between myself, my husband and our 17 year old, we were full!! Very generous with the meat and the seasonings and toppings were perfection. $38 for 2 sandwiches but was worth it. This is a must visit. Also tons of fresh and frozen options along with snacks and condiments to purchase.

Ordered a Meat And Cheese Tray for a friend's Holiday Party. Customer Service Noah was very helpful walking me through the choices. Awesome presentation and I got rave reviews over the quality of the product from people vs. somebody else that brought a different meat & cheese tray from a competitor. Flicker Meat has a great vibe to it and offers so much selection from Butcher Shop, to sandwiches, slaws and more. They know their stuff and have a passion for it. Thanks again and I'll be back soon. Follow me for more reviews, click the Helpful button, and comment what place I should try next.

Phenomenal food! Stopped in finally after moving into the area and their giant sandwiches are actually amazing for the price. The sandwich process is easy enough with fill out forms to give to them. They do not skimp out on any meat or toppings and it's super filling, worth every bite! I also tried their ribs with a side and they definitely know what they're doing. The shop itself is super cozy with a lot of character and the employees are really helpful, always making sure you know they're ready to help you out. I even noticed they sell homemade pet food while I was checking out the stock. Lots of unique things to look for and buy, I'm so happy I found this place and plan to doing try their new lunch box meal soon!

Grungy and overpriced. Rib eye was chewy, tough for its inflated price. Too much product in a tiny space with bad lighting.

St Paul Meat Shop markets themselves as St Paul's only whole animal butcher shop. One of our favorite items is the pastrami. Their pastrami is amazing! Made and smoked in house. It is sliced thin and makes a great sandwich. They also have turkey which I believe is cooked sous vide. Our last visit we picked up some skirt steak and their juicy lucy burgers. As we were checking out, there was one condiment that we forgot and it didn't appear that they had that. The very nice gentleman was able to locate some for us and helped us out. Quality and service has always been top notch.

I absolutely love the duck! The fact they had duck!! Customer service was top notch can't forget about my new buddy in the glasses. This is my MF place!! Top spot on all of the street. I'm looking forward to trying more on my next visit. Basically cleared out the hot dogs the other day and I was like the first person in the shop lol sorry but not sorry. I didn't try them before but they were damn good and shouldn't of been that damn delicious and they have that snap too. I got a chuck roast too for later in the month or maybe I'll try to do easter? Is it beef or duck that they have on Easter I wonder.. either this place is the dream spot of the MEATS (PAUSE! LOL that's me being goofy). Young and older people should fully support this place. I recently moved here but this is my JAMMY JAM!! I wonder if they had meat jam or pickled onions? Honestly somebody to build a bakery and cheese shop nearby so you just get my meat, cheese and bread all on one perfect block. Might have to find a job or buy a house near this place. If they haven't been here for 100yrs.. I hope you make it to that and another 100yrs. Btw who's the MF who made this pie?! This is the best apple pie ever had. I come from San Diego.. we're supposedly doing an apple pie considered like the best but someone was lying. This apple is delicious!! I'm coming for another pie next .. possibly this week but I need to stop spending. You BETTER have those pies on stock

Being 5 minutes from our destination we decided to give it a try And boy are we glad we did! The sammiches weee absolutely outstanding. They come with a smorgasbord of toppings, so you need to peruse the list to determine if there is anything you DON'T want. We had three turkey sammiches and one ham, and everyone chose to modify their toppings slightly (note/ if you desire tomatoes, those need to be added as they oddly aren't on included in the smorgasbord ‍) I opted for everything - perhaps a bit anxious about how well all the flavours would mesh (mayo, mustard, horseradish, oil and vinegar along with various toppings). But you know something / it worked really really well. We also chose the potato salad as a side and it was also quite tasty. Lighter, northerly mayo's. While the sammiches weee being constructed we perused the offering in the attached grocery. Everything oooed fantastic and if we lived Locally, I would certainly be a regular - with an eye to trying many of their offerings beyond the sandwich counter.

You ask a question, they've got an answer. Ask another one, now you're learning about cuts you didn't even know existed and suddenly you're standing there reconsidering your entire weekend barbecue strategy like a man staring at religion through a glass display case. That's the problem with this place. You walk in thinking, "I'll just grab some hamburger and maybe a couple steaks," and five minutes later you want to leave with half the damn store. They've got custom sauces, spices, rubs, marinades, meat enhancements, all the stuff that turns a backyard cookout into the kind of meal where people stop talking for a minute after the first bite. I've been to a few butcher shops around the city, but Ready Meats feels different. No gimmicks. No artisanal nonsense. No guy in suspenders trying to sell you parsley foam for nineteen dollars.
