Amazing selection of meats, jerky, sauces, and everything in between. Great customer service!

I've been to flicker many many times over the past several years. Their spicy sausage can't be beat! But after this weekend I will be a frequent flier. I sent my husband out for a 3-4lb tenderloin for beef Wellington. I told him to check flicker and sams club. He started at Kowalskis , then sams club and finally flicker. We ended up with a beautiful 5 lb tenderloin for 1/3 the price of Kowalskis and they cleaned it up, and trimmed it down before weighing and selling it. The Wellington was perfect!! I finally made it to White Bear Lake to check this store out. Its on the SE corner of Co Rd E East and White Bear Ave. Its a butcher shop packed with meat. It reminded me of Hackenmueller's but roomier. No clue what to get, but we sample some Jalapeno brats and are sold. We also picked up some tasty pork chops for tomorrow. The prices seemed reasonable for the product offered. The staff were friendly. The pig didn't say much at all, but he tasted great. read more

A friend and I each got a Groupon for Flicker meats last fall. We both got their Grill Box, and I am now a huge fan. The store is bigger than it looks from the outside. Located in a strip mall, I thought it might be tiny. I was wrong, but it does still feel a little cramped inside. Prices are in line with what I would expect to pay at a butcher shop, and the quality is excellent. read more

They treated me like I was a beginner and babied me all the time. They never leave me alone and got mad when I turned down there jerky deal. I felt very offended when they grabbed the meat with there bear hands and put it on the scale than with the same hand grabbed the bag. It is very dirty and is a germ pit. All the workers are very rude especially the young ones. Never going again. read more

Very disappointed with Flickers. I called and got a spit ball quote on brats a burgers for my sons grad party. I was quoted between $170 and $180 when I got there they charged me $236. They knew my grad party was today so I was stuck. Then when I got home all the burgers were frozen !!! I wasn't a fan even before I tried the meat. Too bad. read more

I have been coming here for 15 years. I do not get here often, but when I do, I am always greeted by a pleasant, knowledgeable staff. I have come here for every thing from wood chunks, lump charcoal, fresh meats and recently their barbecue Thursday. My barbecue Thursday purchase consisted of 1/2 rack of baby backs and a side of beans. In the barbecue world the question asked often is where can I get good barbecue in such n such city. I am going to be there for business, family visits, etc, I am now going to suggest Flickers for their Thursday barbecue night. Picnic style, take out only. It is reasonably priced at $8.60 for 1/2 rack of baby backs and a 1 pint of sides of beans. Your price may be different because they sell by the lb.. They are cooked with a dry rub and a generous 1/2 pint of sauce on the side if you are interested. read more

Since I've recently gotten into actually cooking, I've become slightly obsessed with specialty shops. And Flicker does not disappoint. Walking in, you'll immediately see that the shop is pretty basic, but everything is fresh and smells amazing. The butchers are top rate, they know how to cook any kind of meat just right - which is great for a girl who couldn't tell you how to prepare short ribs for the smoker if her life depended on it. Oh, and if you can't quite put your finger on what you're hungry for, they'll steer you towards something fantastic. Love. read more

My grandmother (now passed away, sadly) first took me here. She was born in 1912--the daughter of a St. Paul butcher. She told me that if you ever want good meat, or something for a special occasion, skip the grocery store and find a local butcher. Unfortunately these days, real, knowledgable, old-school butchers are so incredibly hard to find. Flicker does it the right way. They can always answer your questions, tell you the difference between cuts of meat, and supply you with some nice specialty stuff as well. It's nothing fancy, but it doesn't need to be when the employees know their trade and take pride in their work. read more

Grungy and overpriced. Rib eye was chewy, tough for its inflated price. Too much product in a tiny space with bad lighting.

I frequent this place in the summer quite regularly. They have a great selection of beef, pork, chicken etc... all of which is excellent. Some must try's are the porketta pork chops and the turkey jerky... Thumbs up!!! read more

I go out of my way to get over to Flickers!! Great jerky & sticks!! Although, I was disappointed in the pork jerky! Had an overpowering green olive taste!! I have lived down the street from Flicker Meats my entire life and this was my first time going in there. I am very glad I did because their ribs are fantastic! The dry rub is delicious and the meat is so tender that it just falls off the bone. The BBQ sauce costs extra but it's tasty and you get a lot of it. The baked beans that came with the ribs were good, as was the potato salad that we also purchased. I will definitely be back for more ribs! read more

I just asked my 17 year-old to pick any dinner he wanted for his birthday. His response, "Anything from Flicker". We love Flicker meats, not only for the tasty food, but the wonderful customer service as well. My teenage boys often bring their buddies up to our cabin in the summer. Awesome place. Super friendly staff, took us on a mini tour of the shop. Gave us a ton of BIG samples to take home and try. They smoke anything in house for you, you can bring in a turkey or a ham and they'll smoke it for you. You can buy ribs from them and they'll smoke them all day and you pick them up just before throwing on your grill at home. Highly recommend this shop. read more

I used to go to a very well-regarded butcher shop in Nicollet but when no longer down there for work I was adrift. Never thought I'd find another shop I liked as well. But then a pal told me about Flickers. I've been going there for about 6 months now and every experience has been wonderful. Staff are very kind, knowledgable, and always seem to be finding things to throw in to sweeten the order. The meat itself is a whole step above that found in the more famous local chain. And the Thursday feast of smoked ribs and chicken is some of the finest meat I've encountered anywhere. Very highly recommended. read more

Had an awesome experience at Flicker Meats last week. It was the first time I'd been in there and just stopped on my way home from work to grab something for dinner. I got a beautiful ribeye, but also picked up several different kinds of beef sticks and jerky. The steak was excellent and everyone I shared the jerky with agreed that it's the best they've had with great smoked flavor. But, even better than the food, was the service. The guys working in there were very helpful and incredibly friendly. All around, a five star experience. read more

Nice staff and great products. Not cheap, but well worth it for the quality. I shop here often my only suggestion for a better flicker meats is that it takes a minute or two for the staff to greet the customers. Called last Sunday to get $125 in gift certs for family in White Bear Lake. It is now Saturday and called them again to fine out where they were, since I have to remail them to White Bear. I was told, today(Saturday) that they were mailed on Friday, even though my credit card was charged on Monday. I was also told that if they did not arrive to my family, even though I have to remail them to Minnesota, there would be NO charge to my credit card. I live in Florida so the mail service is not great, even not during the holidays. We used to own the CobbleStone Café and bought all of our meat from Jeff. He does not seem to care. I guess that he has gotten to big to remember the people that helped him to get where he is now. To bad. I really liked the place. read more

I have gone to flickers often normally to get the burger,cheese and lunch meats for our weeks worth of meat normally every weekend they are open on sundays get 10 lbs of burger and get a better deal,kinda bummed cuz I normally get some hotdogs also in summer and seen the counter guy open the ambassador bag and fill the tray kinda soured me on that maybe I'm naive smelling the smokehouse thinking everything is made in house which is why I go to meat markets but I will say the customer service is fantastic and that's why I continue to go and just get the burger and lunch meats. read more

Purchased a groupon.... unfortunately the meat was representative of what we paid grissley steak .... old tasting chicken. Very disappointing for a meat market who shows well fresh food. read more
