The dock was really nice. They have a lot of water toys available. They do not have the water trampoline like they advertise. We were in cabin #7 and they did not have Direct TV in that cabin as advertised. Our experience at the cabin wasn't horrible but it certainly wasn't great. The owners left their "employee" in charge while they were gone for most of the week. This kid could not have been more than 18 years old. He did not know anything about the lake. His response to every question I asked was "I don't know." My son wanted to catch crayfish. Blackduck doesn't have any. Fine. He could have given suggestions on where to go. We were having no luck catching fish. I asked where we should try in the lake. He couldn't help. My husband had back surgery last summer so he needs comfortable furniture. I picked cabin 7 because the picture shows a very comfortable looking arm chair. When my husband sat in it and tried to recline, he realized the chair was completely broken. He had to prop the chair up with a cooler and case of water just to sit in it. I told the "employee" and he just said ok. If the owners had been there, we would have tried to get a different chair but with this kid, I'm sure there would have been no point. I get that the owners deserve a vacation but you would think they could find someone a little more responsible to put in charge. Also, while the cabin wasn't exactly dirty, it really wasn't very clean. The carpet had so many stains on it, I wondered if it had ever been shampooed. The shower and shower curtain had mold and mildew. The bathroom sink was so small you couldn't wash your face without splashing water all over the place. The only communication I had with the owner was via email/text and one voice message. She was helpful via text when we asked for recommendations to get our boat fixed. I did see her when I was checking out and she seemed very nice although she never did ask how our stay was. Or ask if our boat was fixed. I actually had to bring that up myself when I checked out. Otherwise she wouldn't have known about that either.

We rented a pontoon here. When they showed us the boat they pointed out the electrical for the…read moretilt/trim had recently stopped working but told us not to worry about it. We also asked about the wiring hanging down under the boat in the water but we're told that wasn't a concern. On the 2nd day we had the pontoon, while we were driving along the motor trimmed up all by itself while we were driving. We quickly shut the motor off to not damage it. But we're unable to get the motor to go back down. We called the resort and they did come out and tow us back. But the owner guy never said sorry and made it clear it was an inconvenience to him. Well it was an inconvenience to our boat full of kids that were stranded into the dark as well and the lights were only partially working and we noticed they had exposed bare wires that were rusty. We had to rent another boat because there wasn't any indication of when things would be fixed, nor could we really trust the boat with the numerous electrical issues. They did eventually call back and insisted we pay half the weekly rate despite not being able to finish the 2nd day. The owner guy had no response when we asked why they rented us a boat with know electrical issues and the wires hanging in the water. Ultimately I'm not surprised that a resort would try to rent us a complete junker of a boat. But refusing to accept any responsibility when it broke down or even saying sorry to the 4 cold and scared kids, and not be willing to offer another boat, not commit to any repair timelines, and not be willing to agree to a reasonable compromise on the rate for the rental was surprising. I never even asked for a complete refund, just wanted to pay a discounted rate based on the time we actually could use the boat. Based on our interaction, I'd expect this place offers poor customer service quite frequently and rents boats and cabins that are in disrepair. Really sad for them to also not simply acknowledge when they make mistakes. Go to White Birch, or one of the other resorts on the lake. Also, the boat they rented us appeared to have been in a demo derby. It was severely beat up, incredibly dirty, and the seats were all torn. None of the buttons worked, nor did the radio.
