There are a few interesting food stops, including Lobanton, and even a shop dedicated to H.P. Lovecraft merchandise. I also appreciated the historical photos displayed throughout. A couple of things to note: Parking isn't free - there's a garage across the street and paid street parking nearby. Also, accessibility could be an issue - I didn't notice a wheelchair ramp on one side of the mall (maybe there's one on the other side?). Overall, it's a neat place to explore, especially if you appreciate history and architecture, but it's more of a quick visit rather than a full shopping experience.

The first floor consists of small eccentric shops and cafes while the upper floors have been converted into studio apartments. (I am entranced by the idea of residing there - just think, I can leave my apartment in my Jammies and walk downstairs to a cafe for my morning coffee.). One of my favorite haunts to shop is Williams Sonoma and still one of my places to shop! I have seen this place mobbed with shoppers and I have seen this place struggle at certain times but in all it has been a big draw for shoppers with plenty of parking! The massive food court has always interested me to sit and grab food while I take a rest to shop again! What really peaked my interest in the Mall was in 2024 while home I watched a documentary called SECRET MALL APARTMENT on Cable which was a true to life story of 8 Rhode Island Artists who actually built a 750 square foot Apartment hidden in the hidden spaces of the Mall! In 2003 and supposedly lived undetected and unnoticed by anyone for about 4 years! It was fascinating to see in the movie the amount of furniture and items they got past security or anyone ! To think I was there shopping and had no idea this was happening under my nose while in the mall! So, since the discovery of said Apartment This Mall has been something of a surprise and I will continue to enjoy my shopping experience here always! I hope that all the stores get lots of foot traffic to continue being a staple to the Mall!

I had the opportunity to visit on Sunday, September 14th. Garden City Center's historic gazebo green transforms into a vibrant, open-air Farmers Market. The Farmers Market is every Sunday from May 18 through September 28 from 10 AM to 2 PM. I wandered and checked out the local vendors. There were a great variety of them. I purchased a really cute coaster from The Book Emporium RI. The Book Emporium RI sells books that are wrapped and you have a blind date with a book. I also purchased a lavender sachet from 15 Lavender Place. I spoke with the owner and she told me all of the lavender is lovingly home-grown and hand-harvested, ensuring the highest quality and care go into every product. There were soothing lavender eye pillows, relaxing neck wraps, sprays, and bundles of dried lavender. I also went to Fully Rooted to purchase two bottles of freshly pressed juices-Watermelon Slice and Golden Greens. There were also local food trucks, farm booths, and local makers. The Garden City Center Farmers Market is a market for everyone. Either if you just want to stop for coffee, get produce for the week, flowers, dog treats, see alpacas, and so much more.

There's parking for about 390 cars, so it's a pretty large lot and on average more than 10,000 cars pass through this part of N Main St every day. Almost half a million people live within a 10 mile radius of this shopping center, so it does have a good potential customer base. The traffic in and out of the center can be chaotic as many people visit the various stores in here...still, with a little patience, it works...

We have been many times to eat, shop and relax...the area is in a residential setting, so for those who live nearby, it's like a block or two away walk to get a French croissant, grab the latest bestseller novel or get a funky lamp from a home decor store. It reminds me of Old Town Pasadena, but on a much smaller scale. I really like it. We went in the West Elm store and my in-laws bought some things for their home. The fitness club also left the shopping mall, so it's mostly small businesses right now. BankRI and Bottles are going to be the main tenants unless someone large moves in. Lots of parking and convenient to anyone living on the East Side or near Wayland Square.

For many items, they have an option for same-day pickup, which is quite convenient. There are designated pickup stalls at some of the retailers - a great addition during the pandemic. This nice shopping area in Cranston has slowly gotten a face lift in the past few years...Many…read morebusinesses have come and gone through the 80s, 90s and 2000s, but lately the new ones settling here...... as well as the ones that have been around for a long time are seeing busier traffic, both on foot and people driving in. There are many new businesses, like a Centreville Bank branch, Bertola Italian, and a restaurant called Alani's Mediterranean Bistro...many other businesses have been around for a while like the Durfee True Value hardware store, the Chinese American market, King's Garden Chinese and the US post office. Another landmark in the area is the Park Theatre. We have visited the area businesses several times and they usually go for the ethnic ones where we can get stuff that sometimes are not easy to find in other parts of metro Providence. Rolfe Square is being positioned as an art and theater district, theater district for all Rhode island residents and visitors to enjoy.
