I've used White Dove Cleaners - Red Bank & Tinton Falls for 24 years. White Dove has the best people - friendly, professional & courteous and my clothes never looked better. Years ago I spilled red nail polish on a pair of Brooks Brothers blue & white gingham summer pants with a white polyester lining, nail polish on both. Guess what?- I don't know how they did it or what they used but not a trace of red nail polish & the fabric not damaged at all! When I brought those pants in I thought I had nothing to lose and it turned out I had everything to gain- my pants back to wear! Excellent seamstress on premises for alterations, also! It took a few years for me to realize what White Dove did to my suit jacket... At some point in the past few years, I gave White Dove my suit jacket to clean. When I received it back, it sat in my closet for a few years as I never had a need to wear it. A few days ago I had an event to go to. I wanted to wear that suit jacket. I pulled it out of the dry cleaner wrap, put it on, and discovered that all the buttons had been torn off. I then take the jacket off, look and found a tag that stated the jacket had been received in defective condition. So, basically, they were blaming me for mishandling my jacket during dry cleaning and stripping the buttons off. Now, I assure you, those buttons were fine. I had just worn the jacket before submitting it for dry cleaning. At some point, while in their care, they damaged my suit and then blamed me for it. What makes matters worse is you would think the clerk who handed me the dry-cleaned jacket at pickup would have mentioned the damage. Wouldn't that be the right thing to do? Review on Tailoring Services. Very Expensive. I brought in a simple linen dress in for hemming--nothing fancy, no lining, no beading, no lace, no special stitching--and was absolutely shocked at the price. The cost was wildly disproportionate to the basic nature of the work. 61.00 to take the hem up approx. 4 inches. While I'm always willing to pay fair rates for quality craftsmanship, this felt like pricier than even boutique-level pricing without the boutique experience. I needed it done and did not know of another place to take it so I had no choice to pay the amount left it there to be altered. But no way can they justify that inflated cost. The alternation was fine, as expected for a super basic hem. I have since found a new place; this was the first and only time I will take an alteration to White Dove Cleaners. If you're considering bringing in an alteration, save yourself the sticker shock and look elsewhere. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. THEY ARE A SCAM! I trusted my wedding dress with White Dove Cleaners, based on a recommendation from my seamstress, whose work I admired. Unfortunately within a year, my dress developed stains. When I raised concerns about the stains, the owner blamed me, saying it was because of humidity in my storage. However, I stored the dress as recommended in a cool, dry place, and I haven't touched it since. It's also worth noting that scientifically, humidity only accelerates the darkening of stains, whereas the actual cause of stains is mineralized water, which should have been removed in the supposed thorough cleaning. Upon presenting this research-backed evidence, the owner dismissively referenced his 30+ years of industry experience, ignoring the fact that time spent in something does not equate to quality service. This is also quite evident in the number negative reviews on this place. To make things worse, the owner refused to refund me, and suggested I pay for the shipping and re-cleaning of the dress. He even acknowledged these stains might reoccur, which raises questions about the thoroughness of their cleaning process. Paying $300 for a cleaning that doesn't last, coupled with the expectation of recurring payments for recleaning, is absurd. It's clear White Dove Cleaners operates like a scam, neglecting the quality of their work and draining your wallet. Called White Dove the day after my daughter's wedding hoping to have her wedding gown cleaned and preserved.. Was told I must come "when the wedding gown man is present".He actually was on premises. When I arrived 20 minutes later after carrying the heavy gown into the shop I was told that he had left. Struggled to get it back into the car with the intention of finding an alternative to White Dove. A few days later i calmed down and decided to try again and support a local business. Called before I went and spoke to the "wedding gown man" myself who then barked at me that I need to understand "He is a busy man and can't be pinned down to a certain time". 5months later i decided to try them one more time because I have mobility issues, and White Dove has a drive in. This time i needed a pair of jeans hemmed for vacation and first spoke directly to the seamstress who would actually be doing the hem, and she assured me that they would be complete by the following Monday at 12:00pm, please note we are going away early Tuesday morning. Showed up at the cleaners the following monday at 2:00pm, 2 hours after the given time for pick up but I was told they wouldn't be ready till sometime on Tuesday. Told them that's impossible for us to pick them up on Tuesday as we're on a flight. This time she said I could come back later on Monday but that was an impossibility for us. Asked for the pants back, and just refund our money, refund because they require PAYMENT BEFORE THE JOB IS COMPLETED. The owner (wedding gown man) stepped in and stated that since we paid with a Credit card my money could not be refunded and would have to accept a store credit. Told the owner that didn't work for me because i'll never come back here again to use the in-store credit and had to demand that he refund my payment. He then handed me a 20.00 bill and then mumbled "Apologies". So we tried 2 random times and the owner seems to create rules on the spot that are not customer friendly. 1 star I wish I could give zero stars to this place. They ruined my wife's wedding dress and refused to take any responsibility. I brought my wife's dress here after our wedding to have it cleaned and preserved. It was a beautiful lace gown that she had spent months searching for and thousands of dollars on. They told me it would take two weeks to get it back. Two weeks later, I went to pick up my wife's dress and I was shocked by what I saw. The dress was in a plastic bag that was ripped and dirty. The lace was torn, the beads were missing, and there were stains all over the dress. It looked like they had thrown it in a washing machine with bleach and then dragged it through the mud. It was unrecognizable. I asked them what happened and they said they had no idea. They claimed they had followed the instructions on the label and that the dress was already damaged when I brought it in. They said they could not do anything to fix it or refund me. They were rude and dismissive and blamed me for being too picky. I was devastated and furious. I had trusted them with my wife's precious dress and they had destroyed it. They had no respect for me or my wife's dress. They had no professionalism or integrity. They were the worst dry cleaners I have ever dealt with. Do not take your wife's wedding dress or anything else to this place. They will ruin it and rip you off. Stay away from them. read more

Took my wedding dress to get a quote. The man there noticed damage on the dress that I didn't & told me i should repair before cleaning. When I was confused as to how it got so damaged he replied "it's very delicate... see?" And ripped another (totally fine) part of my incredibly expensive dress to show me how delicate it was. ???? If I could give 0 stars I would. I've been a long time customer of White Dove for the past 5 years as a local to the area. By happenstance I started coming here and just recently realized that I'm not getting consistent pricing on the same pieces I bring there often. So, I have asked the young lady in the front for a price list on multiple occasions and she said that people ask all the time but the OWNER JOE is not willing to provide one; to call him to ask about it. So, I finally was able to reach Joe. I told him I know they do great work, but just want to make sure i'm getting consistent pricing, and also pricing that is on par relative to other's in the area. I think this is reasonable as a consumer and long time customer. If I am coming in with highly expensive or delicate clothing, is one thing, but my standard work clothes is another that don't need any special treatment. He got SO defensive and asked for my name about 5 different times, as if to look in the system to see how much money I spend there on a weekly basis. He said, Well, WE ARE NOT THE KOREANS OR ASIANS - YOU KNOW WE ARE DOING QUALITY WORK. Is that not enough for you? IF YOU DONT LIKE IT I DONT KNOW WHAT TO TELL YOU!. He then went on to say he'd be happy to give me a price over the phone, but will not provide me with a price menu. (For God sake, I just wanted to know roundabout prices for pants, dresses, slacks, shirts, etc. I understand small variations depending on staining, but how difficult can that be??) He said he doesn't owe answers to anyone and if I don't like it sorry. To say he doesn't value his loyal customer base is an understatement. To say that it is bad business or "shady" business by not being open about his pricing is also an understatement. He actually told me to look back at my receipts and take an average His lack of professionalism, racism, and general respect for his customers is appalling. I will never go back to White Dove. I told him this, and he was smuggly OK with it. This review is about the red bank location as I've never been to the one in Tinton Falls. I've been to so many dry cleaners in the area, and hands down this is the best one and I've stuck with them since I found them. The fact that they're family run comes through in the care and attentiveness everyone shows- no matter who is working the day you go in, you're greeted with friendliness and questions and comments about what you're dropping off. I've come in with stains on delicate garments that seemed hopeless (black ink on light pink silk!) and left with them looking like the stains had never been there. read more

I will no longer be using their services for my everyday dry cleaning. Not only are they overpriced but the man who works is extremely rude and condescending. I called to inquire about a service. He wants $400 to clean my wedding dress and snapped at me when I asked what to expect (do they box it? How long is it preserved?) I also asked if they guarantee their work and he already started blaming me for whatever happens to it lol. I am big on just overall kindness and integrity- especially at those prices. First and last time using White Dove in Tinton Falls. I received an email that my cleaning was ready. When I arrived, there was a line. I waited and when it was my turn, a man came to the drive-up, exited his car and entered the building. He had a bag of cleaning to drop off and six orders he was picking up. I waited. When finally the woman was done serving him, I gave her my phone number. She went to get my cleaning and returned with a dress not cleaned. She told me they couldn't clean it but she didn't know why. I'm so angry as this happened to be the LAST time I bring anything to this so called cleaners. They have damaged so many of my husbands and my pieces and they always seem to blame the manufacture of the item. THEY use TOO hot of a temperature on delicate items and they don't seem to check the pieces for cleaning instructions before they clean them! I have gone over each piece if it needs any extra care involved and they just agree and when I pick my cleaning up and bring it home I find that they, again, have damaged something!!!! This time I brought it back and they were so rude and couldn't care less about what had happened! Missing buttons, or broken buttons, ripped or burned fabric NO EXCUSES! We rely on White Dove cleaners and they do a great job. The shop is run very professionally, and they stay on the ball. They offer delivery service (pick up and drop off) and always get the job done right. If you're a busy person and want to have your dry cleaning taken care of without worry, this is a great choice. I have been a customer of the Red Bank location for many years. I have never had a problem with white dove!!! They are very professional and respectful and honest. They do great work. As a matter of fact, when we leave money, cufflinks or jewelry in pockets, it is always returned in an envelope with a note. When I send expensive suits, the buttons are wrapped so that there won't be any damage. They pick up and deliver my clothes and if its raining and no one is home, they take the clothes back and leave me a note. read more

They are SO expensive. 4 woman's dress shirts, 2 skirts, 2 casual work dresses, 1 pair of pants, and a men's suit cost me over $100. Also - I brought the clothes in on a Monday and asked the soonest they could be ready and I have to wait until Friday after 4pm. The last time I went I dropped off a table cloth I needed for a work function and they assured me they could expedite and have ready in 2 days - when I showed up a few hours before the event they did not have it ready. They ended up just steaming it to get out the wrinkles and not even cleaning it because I had to leave. That should have been my sign to not come back.
