When she moved to Assisted Living in that facility, she needed extra help in the morning to shower, get dressed and eat breakfast and lunch. Visiting Angels was there no matter the need. The caregivers are professional, kind, caring and responsible. Special shout out to Betsy and Jackie who my mom adored because not only did they help but they were great company for her. I believe the great care she received from Visiting Angels was responsible for helping my mom live to 102 with all her faculties intact. The ower, Steve, and the office staff, especially Donna, were always responsive even after hours and extremely helpful with whatever issue arose. They were told by my mother that see wanted to try the service and see if it was a good fit. They charged $130 for a health care evaluation for there own baseline. They secured a security deposit for 2 weeks of service @ 8 hours per week 16 hours total. There home health care aid had no cooking skills, was not herself health conscious and provied little or no amenable care other than to chat up my mother @ $32/hr. After 4 days of 4 hours of service my mother decided it was not a good fit and called Home Instead to cancel services. 4 days latter they withdrew another 2 weeks pay out of my mothers account of which my mother had reversed. Then they then sued us in Superior Court for none payment. There was no phone call from Home Instead to discuss the matter or fined a resolution. This company was a predator and created a-lot of unnecessary stress when it can to my mother and our family!

If they would just take the time to do an intake review with the patient and family, it would eliminate back tracking and unnecessary stress for all involved! All of the care givers are overworked, over-stressed, and doing their best. Truthfully I think they've had it! There's hardly ever a smile on their faces. Advise them of MD appointments 1-2weeks ahead of time dotted every "I", crossed every "T", and magically all the information disappeared. When I confirmed the information, they chased their tails to get it together. Upon arrival they told us that the MD would be in 24-48 hrs later, almost a week and NOTHING! An NP made an appearance briefly. Nothing but attitude! My loved one, who is the patient in the facility was told "she was a lot of work" due to multiple comorbidities and "you have to fight for yourself" by staff members. If you want a stressful experience I highly recommend! If I could rate less than zero, I would. They need to DO BETTER!

My father's longtime, part-time housekeeper needed to clean up after the home attendant, who left dishes unwashed, trash in the car, etc. The attendant would direct the housekeeper to clean up after him and do things that were part of his job. Most troubling, my father was seriously deconditioned from his hospital stay. We asked Edmund to keep a close eye on my dad, and Edmund had a whole spiel about how we cared too much for my dad but needed to give my dad space so he could learn to be independent. This allowed Edmund to spend most of the time in his room on his laptop, door closed, while my dad's housekeeper would fetch water and food for my father, help him to the toilet, empty his foley bag and check on his vitals. It was she who alerted us that something was wrong -- it turned out that my father had a serious infection and needed to return to the hospital, where he stayed for another month before discharge. I believe the home attendant would have left my father suffering and deteriorate for days. The people who run Towne make a great sales pitch but ultimately, I don't think they do a great job of vetting, and it's ultimately still up to you to interview and find the right caregiver.
