I paid my copay for all 4 visits, but I was later charged with a $226.26 bill. I repeatedly called my insurance to have it resolved, they told me call the office (both ping-ponged me back and forth). So, I spoke to Theresa, the rotten miserable wrinkled woman at the front desk, multiple times who acted like she knew nothing, but when it came time for her to talk to an insurance rep with me she was magically very knowledgeable. Despite me trying to resolve this wrongful bill multiple ways, I received a letter I was being sued for $226.26. This abhorrent notice came while I was in the hospital everyday with my unresponsive mother on hospice due to a tragic accident, talk about added stress. I, again, went into the office and called multiple times to resolve it, but every time was told "they'll get back to me," which they never did. During one of my office visits with Michael Sherman I sat in the room waiting and I could hear him tear a staff member to shreds with unacceptable venom in his tone over something minor. This made me extremely uncomfortable as a waiting patient and should have left right then. I was also pushed into treatment I was charged for despite attempting to decline it due to my first test results coming up completely negative. There is something completely demented about Michael Sherman's personality for him to talk to his staff the way I heard and to treat patients like myself with this kind of unnecessary headache. I attempted to resolve this lawsuit on 11/11, and his lawyer kept telling me she hadn't heard back from him. This was shocking to me since his waiting room and office were consistently empty when I went there. On 11/25 I drove to office, and she told me she hadn't heard from him still. I called their office with her present and the bill was resolved immediately (thank you to my mom who passed). I never realized Doctor Michael Sherman was so desperate for $226.26. I would never recommend anyone go to this practice after my experience. My experience with Michael Sherman has shown he's an abscess to the people around him. I'd be very cautious with the fraudulent and manipulative ways this business handles themselves. I never would have had the treatments done if I knew I would owe money beyond my copay.

Turns out I needed antibiotics and urgent care diagnosed me with an outer ear infection and only gave me ear drops, making the problem worse. A few weeks after the infection I woke up in the middle of the night with this horrible pain and ringing in my ear and I lost hearing in one ear for weeks. I went to an ent and got put on antibiotics and had to keep seeing him for a few months to get my hearing back in that ear. But there have been times when family first urgent care has been great. I would say if you're going for a standard test, like a strep test or something or if it's a Saturday or Sunday and no one else is open and you're desperate, then they're fine.

BUT BEWARE..he has a raging nasty Pitt bull running the office now who is a psycho. It pains me to leave such a dedicated caring Doctor I felt cared for me like family. I can no longer be treated at 70yrs old with office manager Corey lies and yells at me. She is a disgrace to Dr Cartnick's perfect care and all office managers that do care. My mother resided here for a total of 4 months before her very tragic and unexplained passing. She…read morewas very young with a very aggressive form of dementia. My siblings and i were out of options for caring for her at home and laurel bay advertises themselves as specializing in memory care . From our experience this is very untrue . She was put on and off several psych medications that took away any bit of her that was left. There were a handful of CNAs that really did give our mother the level of care we had hoped for but that was where it ended. We were called and informed that she had a fever and was being brought to the hospital , when I arrived she couldn't even lift her head or speak to me no one could give me answers they said she arrived that way . We were seeing my mom every week up until two weeks prior to this fever bc we had a brand new baby in the family and couldn't make it there . So what transpired in those two weeks that we didn't see her we will never really know . She quickly declined in the hospital she had clots in both lungs from what we were told was from her being so immobile . This was the same woman who 1 month ago could not be still , she paced from the anxiety and when she was calm was dancing all over . She passed away two weeks after being admitted to the hospital. She didn't have much for belongings , some pictures ( there were several lost within her first month there during a room change ) and her wedding band . In trying to track down her wedding ring which prior to entering laurel bay she had NEVER taken off , EVER i was told that it was found on the floor by one worker who gave it to another worker who placed it on the nurses cart. From there it disappeared. No trace of it . I filed a police report with no success. The only piece of her marriage , of her life before her disease, her 42 year marriage . GONE. To add salt to the wound as we were mourning our mother on our first Xmas without her we received a call on CHRISTMAS EVE from the billing department asking to collect a fee of 300$ that was owed from her stay !!!!!!! No condolences , just looking to collect . While a little lengthy in description this was our experience in laurel bay for the very brief time our mother was there, Putting mom into a nursing home truly was a last resort for us , we thought it was the right thing for her , we tried to care for her so long on our own and we thought they could provide her with what we couldn't. There is no doubt in my mind our mother would've Alive today If we had kept her home for longer .
