A few weeks ago I began doing research on the benefits of Reiki and its potential to restore balance on all levels- mentally, physically, spiritually, and emotionally. I had never been to a healer, nor did/do I know much about reiki, but my heart was open and I wanted to give it a try. Soraya is such a warm and wise person, she's a true healer and can really tap into what you're feeling. I had my first reiki session last week with her, not knowing much what to expect but as part of my healing journey I wanted to give reiki a chance. We started of with a consol over the phone and when I arrived at her place we chatted briefly about what do I want to achieve with this session. I then laid on a message table and Soraya did the reiki healing which was very relaxing. She talked through what she was doing and explained what reiki is, energy and how my energy is flowing (not to my surprise- most of my energy was coming through my head, rather than my heart). The next day I felt a sense of relief and less anxiety. This is a work in progress and healing takes time. Don't expect all your problems to vanish after one session, but it's a good start. Wow! Soraya truly is a pure gift on this Earth. Her energy put me at ease when I first met her. I was very nervous and anxious about my hands on Reiki healing but I am beyond happy that I went to Soraya. She created such a safe space for me to be open and honest with her about what was going on in my life. Only a few minutes into the session I felt a huge rush of energy in my lower triangle chakras then I started to cry. She comforted me and told me it was okay and that it's just energy moving through the body and healing. The rest of the session I felt a little cold so she gave me a blanket. I also felt my body twitch a couple times. When the session was over I felt much lighter and felt a higher sense of self-love. What a powerful experience! I wanted to incorporate some sort of energy healing along with talk therapy for my 2020 resolution. I've done one Reiki session and it was powerfully healing. Reiki isn't a massage - it's hands-on healing from the practitioner to the patient. You don't speak during the session (unless you want to!) but there is a mini therapy-like session beforehand to set your intentions and what you want to let go. Soraya helped guide me into a meditative state, explained all my chakras and their energy (some needed more healing than others), and showed me the difference before and after Reiki. Afterwards, I had a headache behind my third-eye chakra (forehead) and then the next day I felt better than I have in years. I still need to do more inner work but the letting go of negative energy has started. You know how a massage therapist will release tension from a muscle knot? Soraya is super dope. She truly is gifted and has such a pure energy. I went in for the hands on reiki healing and we first sat down and talked openly and honestly. She didn't come off judgmental at all, but she definitely keeps it real in a way that wakes you up. I went soraya to have an energy clearing and reiki energy! It was awesome. She told me that I had no blocks in any of my chakras, but that they were all overactive. We talked for an hour, and then she did reiki for an hour. While receiving reiki, I had visualizations of cutting cords, and forgiving certain people I haven't forgave. I was on the hunt for months for my first reiki session. It was almost 1 month ago on a Saturday morning I woke up and told myself no more procrastinating, today is the day I'm choosing someone. After sorting through approx 10+ different healers on Yelp I felt drawn to Soraya and booked a session for the following morning. The booking process was easy and she texted me right away to confirm the time, smiley faces and all. :) On my way to her place I kept experiencing self-doubt, what am I getting into, is this right for me, am I going down the rabbit hole? I had a very strict and religious upbringing and wanted to let go of the self limiting beliefs that no longer serve me. In recent months I've felt drawn to soundbaths, crystals, reiki, mediation but felt anxious and worried if the path I was taking was heading in the right direction. There are a million amazing things to say about Soraya and her reiki practice, I honestly don't where to being... I'd like to think I'm a pretty spiritual person, feel in touch with god and the universe and do my very best to practice gratitude daily even when the going gets tough, but after doing reiki now twice with Soraya, I have never felt more at peace, aligned energetically, clear headed and confident in my journey.
