The shoppers are out here. I know it will be much busier than this in a few days. That's why I am trying to work on my list now.

My 74-year-old father recently underwent spinal surgery at Franklin Square Hospital to remove…read morearthritis compressing the nerves in his spine. This was a difficult procedure that greatly limited his motor functions and required rehabilitation. Unfortunately, while waiting for a rehabilitation bed placement, he was assigned to room 1105, where the nursing staff's treatment of him was deeply disappointing. He arrived on the floor on Thursday, September 4. On this day, he was left in bed and forced to eat with his neck brace on because the nursing staff would not respond to help remove it. The following morning, Friday, he was left sitting on the toilet for 45 minutes waiting for staff to return and assist him. That evening, he was told a rehabilitation bed had been secured, and from that point forward the care noticeably declined. The most troubling incident occurred that night. My father called me at 5:00 AM, stating that his night nurse, Temmy, had refused to give him his prescribed pain medication, telling him "you're going to rehab." My father was in pain, unable to move on his own, and left without proper care. In addition, a urinal cup placed by the bed had spilled into the bed, and when he called for help, no one came to assist him. I personally tried contacting the nurse on duty but was unable to reach her; eventually, I got in touch with the charge nurse, who assured me she would check on him. This experience was unacceptable. Patients in recovery, particularly elderly patients with limited mobility, deserve compassion, attentiveness, and dignity. Leaving a patient in pain, ignoring calls for help, and refusing medication is not only unprofessional but dangerous. I hope this feedback leads to improved accountability and training for the staff on floor 1105 so that no other patient or family has to endure this type of neglect.

I have seen Dr. Goldman for over 30 years and am currently looking for a new primary care…read morephysician. I initially like his wholistic approach to medicine but I have seen a steady decline in his practice of medicine through the years. Like most folks these days complaining about their doctors, this doctor buries himself in the computer when I go in for my annual exam and barks questions at me barely giving me enough time to answer one question before he moves on to the next. He clearly is very aware of the time he is spending with you. That all aside, he has demonstrated significant lapses in my medical care that has most recently become apparent. He neglected to monitor me on a drug I was on long term, that is identified with significant side effects, and when I mentioned a year ago I was experiencing some of these side effects (not realizing it was the medication) he did not pick up on it. Most recently, I had an aortic heart valve replacement two weeks ago that was severely occluded. This doctor ignored my heart murmur for YEARS (saying it was benign), ignored the stasis on my legs (telling me to keep them raised and wear compression hose instead of trying to find out why they were swelling by referring me for an echocardiogram), and most recently ignored difficulty I was having breathing (I couldn't get an appointment to see him). Fortunately I was able to get in to see my pulmonologist who ran all the appropriate tests and hooked me up with fabulous cardiologists. Oh! And when I had to contact Dr. Goldman to set up my post procedure follow-up for one month after my heart procedure? He didn't have any appointments available for 7 months. I can only assume why he doesn't want to see me now. Avoid this doctor at all costs!

I've been a patient of Dr Goldman's for about 25 years now. Boy what I have put him through with my…read morehealth and he still sees me is a miracle. He has always been there for me. Whenever I have a question he calls me the same day with the answer. I liked him and talked about him so much when my wife was looking for a doctor she decided to go start seeing Dr Goldman and she is glad she does. My son is also a patient of his. His office staff is great. Although, I miss 2 women that have worked for him over the 25 years. Bonnie and Amber were the best. However, Karen the office manager always has the staff in great customer service mode. Appointments start and end on time. Prescriptions are taken care of if you are on the medication for a long time within 24 hours. Heather and Lori do a great too! So, in short Dr Goldman is the best doctor I have ever seen.
