The descriptions to the items are well written and well conveys the story and the message behind the display. It spans four floors (it has elevator) but the third and fourth ones won't take that much time. There is a nice cafe underground which has snacks as well. Talk about wild! From my initial call & email to when we loaded up our vans to leave, this place was extremely accommodating and helpful when it came time to entertain my group of campers and adult staff. Springing a large group on any place last minute is daunting and the staff here was incredible. At $5 per person, we couldn't have asked for a better day off-camp! On a warm, summer day, my kiddos and I loved getting some hands-on farm experience! Meeting the cows, petting chickens, feeding goats, and watering the animals. The kids (ages 7-12) had a great time. We ate lunch in a central area with a tent where we could store our belongings during the day. Plus, they sold cheap candy in the gift shop - my campers were elated. We also got a brief tour of The Country Doctor's House - so much history! The kids loved the brief tour, but if we would have done the full-length tour, it would have been too much. They had a variety of lawn games and a laundry activity that my youngest campers enjoyed. Go support small museums and historical sites! Places like these are eager to share their stories and educate the public! Highly recommend!

The folks at the Wilhelm Reich Museum have gone through incredible lengths to bring you as close to…read moredr. Reich as possible. The observatory is essentially a giant time capsule, containing numerous authentic items from dr Reich. His art hangs proudly on the walls, and sever as l of his sculptures decorate the shelving. The second floor of the museum has been left exactly how it was found when the "owners" found it. (Its part of a trust) do its like stepping back in time. Then the top floor is really magical. Another perfectly preserved room, its where Dr. Reich did his art. This is also where they take you out on the rooftop to enjoy its 100+ mile views spanning from the bigelo mtn range to mount washington. If these arent enough to bring you by, theyre also a HUGE nature preserve spiderwebbed with hiking trails and blueberry fields. Such a great place to spend the day!

The exhibit was well done and highly informative. We found the regular collections including the murals in the Walker Art Building, formerly the lobby, and wooden masks once worn by individuals in New Ireland, an island in Papua New Guinea, at funerals and other cultural events to be equally enjoyable. Employees were just setting up a pair of new exhibits on the day of our visit so we did not get the opportunity to explore the entire museum as we will on an upcoming visit. There is no admission fee though donations are gratefully accepted.

This museum celebrates the life and history of Alexander Twilight, an African American minister and an early pioneer in Orleans County. Besides the buildings and grounds, there is a large collection of items from the history of Orleans County. The museum hosts numerous events throughout the year for both adults and children. One of the best is Old Stone House Day in August. At the east end of the property is Prospect Hill with an observation tower. If you climb the tower, you will be rewarded with a sweeping view of the area all the way down to Willoughby Gap. There is a beautiful walk around a pasture with cows. This walk has a short section that goes through the woods. Memberships to the museum are available. Tours are available on a seasonal basis due to the lack of heat in the 1840 Athenian Hall (Old Stone House).
