This is a beautiful little town and a gem hidden in its midst. We took the "medical tour" and,…read morefrom a very knowledgeable and friendly young man, learned a mesmerizing history of two doctors, father and son, who tended to the townsfolk over an entire century, even as the state of medical science advanced dramatically. The farm surrounding their practice is exquisite and an easy walk through meadows and woods, surrounded by happy cows and goats. I really can't recommend this experience too highly.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this place!…read more I had to VERY quickly reorganize a group trip of (almost) 50 people from another destination to here in under 24 hours. Talk about wild! From my initial call & email to when we loaded up our vans to leave, this place was extremely accommodating and helpful when it came time to entertain my group of campers and adult staff. Springing a large group on any place last minute is daunting and the staff here was incredible. At $5 per person, we couldn't have asked for a better day off-camp! On a warm, summer day, my kiddos and I loved getting some hands-on farm experience! Meeting the cows, petting chickens, feeding goats, and watering the animals. The kids (ages 7-12) had a great time. We ate lunch in a central area with a tent where we could store our belongings during the day. Plus, they sold cheap candy in the gift shop - my campers were elated. We also got a brief tour of The Country Doctor's House - so much history! The kids loved the brief tour, but if we would have done the full-length tour, it would have been too much. They had a variety of lawn games and a laundry activity that my youngest campers enjoyed. Go support small museums and historical sites! Places like these are eager to share their stories and educate the public! Highly recommend!

The most STUNNING wedding venue! My cousin got married here this summer and it was so perfect…read more There was a seperate barn on the property where the night before was held. There was a bar, we did trivia, and not to mention the jaw dropping views of the mountains in the distance. Super homey and warm vibe to everything here. The main barn was used for the actual wedding reception itself (DJ booth, long tables, an upstairs area overlooking, and massive barn doors that open out to the stunning view). Couldn't suggest this venue more!!

----- Concise Review…read more Wonderful wedding + reception ----- Longer Review We traveled to South Tamworth, New Hampshire, by way of Boston, MA and then North Conway, NH, for the wedding of our niece to her husband. The trip was brief - Thursday evening to Sunday, but filled with family and fun. Our niece and (now) nephew selected whiteface hollow for the wedding and reception. whiteface hollow - a fantastic barn + house + winery in South Tamworth, NH. The wedding ceremony was outside, in the field, under a large maple tree, and the reception was in the barn. The property has parking in an open space amid trees... the sky is visible but the trees also provide shading to keep the intense heat off the vehicles. The property has a gentle hillside, leading to the grape vines, with a beautiful view of the White Mountains off in the distance... the view was beautiful in the afternoon and phenomenal with that night's sunset! The owner shared that the barn is original wood - interior... the floors and walls are new boards created when they brought a saw mill onsite to cut the wood from trees on the property. The barn had plenty of room for the 18 tables for guests + a dance floor for all of us.. with space for food, and the bar downstairs, and two spaces upstairs (no walls, but balcony rails). Speaking of the bar... they served inside and also through a window to the outside... the blueberry lemonade is very tasty! The winery isn't producing yet but the building is there, and we enjoyed brunch the next morning - nice! And the painting of the property over the bar is wonderful artwork. The owner and her crew were great... so helpful; we were guests so we didn't have the stress, but we could see things were well planned and executed smoothly. Thank you, whiteface hollow, for such a wonderful wedding + reception for our niece and nephew! ----- ----- -----
