Our community is about 200 houses, surrounded by horse farms and trees. It is true we abut I75 but hopefully we will be getting a noise barrier. For example, we have a little dog (Chihuahua that never barks) that we are accustomed to letting out the back door for 2 minutes for her to do her business. Where we now live we have a short, 3' high nearly invisible fence enclosing an area of about 150 square feet where she goes out, and comes right back in within 2 minutes. This park prohibits fencing. When this sort of park says "no fencing" they mean NO FENCING, not even if it is screened and nearly invisible. And even if this sort of fencing was allowed, another rule says your dog must be accompanied at all times. So that means if it is raining and you are sick, you must accompany your dog outside for the duration in the rain. It is likely that even if the dog was totally silent, was outside for less than 2 minutes, and a fence was nearly invisible, an intolerant neighbor is likely to file a complaint which the park is obligated to enforce. That type of arbitrariness will be off-limits for my search.

Our backyard was finally graded and sod laid in May 2025 (ONE YEAR LATER!). After numerous emails and talking to Citrus Hills Construction employees, we got tired of waiting for our fence to be replaced. So, we hired our fence company to do just that. We also paid for two months of watering of the new sod. Lastly, 44 feet of a replacement fence was erected on top of the retaining wall, which is not on our property. So, a new fence was erected on someone else's property and is no longer an asset to our property. We have asked to be reimbursed for this asset that is no longer part of our property. We have asked for a total of $2,667 total reimbursement. We have supplied receipts. We sent an email to the General Counsel at Villages of Citrus Hills on Sept. 8. We sent a certified letter on Sept. 12. We received an email from their Administrative Assistant on Sept. 19 that they were "looking into our fencing concern and will be in touch as soon as he can". That was 10 days ago and we have yet to get this resolved. Why can't companies do the right thing?

Even bought a hot tub. Manager admitted her and her husband watched my husband do all the work. This was going to be home. The day everything was done and ready to enjoy, manager shows up to tell us county is forcing her to move RVs out due to zoning regulations. They have had RVs here for over 2 years. Don't tell me she just found out. This stuff doesn't happen over night. The owner is a mystery man no one can contact. Certified letters went out to every RV,  but us. Within 2 weeks everyone in a RV was looking for a place to move. That's fine. Maintenance hasn't cut our grass the 2 months we were here which is supposedly included in rent. Laundry room consists of one working washer and 2 dryers. Place is always dirty, same bugs smashed on the floor since we moved in, trash overflowing, paint peeling off the walls. Someone finally cleaned it up last week. Free WiFi might work if you sit next to the building. Usually won't even operate app used to run washer and dryers. You can't sit out at night or early morning without being bit up by no see-ums. Motorcycles and loud cars running in and out of property next door at all hours. Septic system is one small tank for every three units, had it back up into our unit because tank was full. Honestly feel we were scammed out of 2 months rent, fee for background checks, money we spent on improvements, not to mention moving expenses. Those of us who had to move, they honestly did us a favor.

Pictures, brochures and videos are all helpful but they put the best angles and views to sell the apartment. Too often I have wanted to run to get an apartment from the photos but when I got there it was a different story: Poorly maintained lawns, broken screens, very poor curb appeal. I'm no longer taken in by internet or photos, I go to the reviews first. So this is my review of Carrington Lane. What you see is what you get and more. The curb appeal is pleasing to the eye, the maintenance crew do a magnificent job and respond quickly to any need, the buildings are all in tip top shape and very recently renovated, the huge oak trees give you a feeling of being up north and yet the palm trees remind you that this is beautiful Florida. Whatever you need is rarely more than an 8 minute drive to such places as the mall, theaters, Home Depot, all sorts of restaurants and shopping. Should you need any medical care there are Urgent Care Facilities, a hospital and yes for Veterans a nearby large clinic. The downtown area is special to walk through, view the old but never abandoned building and store fronts, the park and so much more. You will never be bored. If you enjoy horses, tour the many horse ranches and mansions on a scenic drive. There is plenty to do in Ocala. I left the best to last. You can have nice buildings and grounds, pretty trees and amenities but if you don't feel it's home, it's not anything. Here is where Caitlin, Rebecca and Lindsay come in. They are the three women who make Carrington Lane not merely a house to live in but a home to enjoy, have fun and be proud to say: I live at Carrington. A lot of apartments offer something special at Christmas, Easter and other major holidays. Carrington Lane does that too but so much more. They are like thinking 24/7, how can we make our residents involved, happy and yet not be intrusive. They do it. There are so many things to do if you wish, or if you simply want to remain closer to home and your lovely screened in patio, that's fine too. You do what you want to do. However, no one can say the staff is uncaring or not helpful, they go far beyond the call to assist you and always with a smile. This is a long review, but before closing why not go to Face Book and check out the 200 plus photos of the many activities Lindsay, Rebecca and Caitlin put on for your enjoyment from Coffee Day, Free Lunch Day, Dress up and Dress down day, Blood Drive Day, Pizza Day, Donut Day, Brewery Day, Fashion Day and so much more.
