Wonderful yoga studio. I've been practicing for 3 months and have no complaints!…read more Parking is convenient with their lot, especially considering how close to downtown it is. All the instructors are great and challenging, and the facilities are superb. They host lots of special events and workshops too. Every class is full of different levels, but a lot of advanced yogis (and the instructors!) practice here too, which I like because it gives me something to aspire to and learn from!

I've taken yoga for about 6 months now. The experience has changed for me in that time, and I'll…read moretry to spell that out in this review. I take this class on purpose. There is a truth to be found in doing yoga, and that truth is what you can do that day. Taking a good look at your body and it's function and making that a priority for 90 minutes. I want to gain flexibility, I want to strengthen what's weak, I want to improve my balance, I want to thank my body for working so well, I want to sweat out all the beer I drank that week. Selfish? Perhaps. But who can be blamed for taking care of yourself. I'm finding my 90 minutes of hot yoga represent an atonement for me. To atone is to be " at one" and I feel that the class offers a chance to connect the you that decides with the your that acts. In the reconciliation of the mental and physical body, there is a reward that draws individuals to classes like this. The nature of Bikrim is to find the edge of what you can do and then explore that over time. I won't bore the reader by repeating what's been said in prior reviews but I've learned I don't do this yoga because I'm good at it, I do it because it's challenging. At first I found the way the class is taught a bit arrogant. Ultimately that translated into something more like an "Our Father" at church. It's done in unison as a group with each person participating. I see the same routine as predictable and reliable now. I can reference where my body is because I'm familiar with the process. I've had a free thinking mind my whole life, and unexpectedly found a freedom in the Bikrim routine.

The studio has a shower, locker room, cubbies, and a shop area for merch. I brought my own mat but it seemed like you could buy or rent one there if need be, i was able to borrow a towel. The hot yoga spot had its own parking with plenty of spots for the class size, and was a good value for all the quality of the class. I will definitely return!!

It felt very friendly and welcoming. The class I took today with Aaron was a bit disappointing. He walks around the studio back and forth a lot, talks very fast with some mumbling, and did not do any demonstration of the movement. The one I went to was "all level's vinyasa." I tried it for 15 minutes and it wasn't working for me, I told him that. He said he walks around to check the room, and suggested me to move my mat closer to another student and asked me "not to interrupt again." Honestly moving closer to another student might have helped but my mood was ruined so I left. I was looking forward to class with Aaron as I saw some positive reviews online, and it was truly disappointing.

Here's what I like: Despite Barre's reputation as skinny only and snooty, these classes are approachable and the environment is welcoming to all. You will still be motivated and worked - no pity parties here - but it's accessible to everyone and Renée makes sure form is correct so you don't get injured. And the classes are HARD. Lots of classes and a good schedule You don't get penalized for cancelation HOWEVER Book online fast bc asses do fill up. I've never seen anyone outright turned away yet, bc she has ways to adapt the room, but I wouldn't be surprised if they bump into that soon. The owner has a massage /LMT business and makes all teachers undergo her training which includes EXTENSIVE anatomy training. Trust me. Your hips and knees will notice the difference and thank you for it. Lots of gear and toys! What I don't like: parking can be a pain at times. Give yourself an extra 5 to 10 min. BUT if you're running late, let her know and she'll usually be able to set you up so you can jump right in Wish it was closer for me. I have about a 30 drive, but I make it 2 to 3 times a week usually.
