Called ahead, told to come on through. Waited about 30 minutes. Place is clean and cool looking. I showed the barber a hairstyle I liked on my phone, got something completely different. The cut I received was uneven and patchy. I have several strands of hair that were not cut and remained the same length as when I walked in. The barber talked to me and gave me the sense she knew what she was doing. However, once I got home and showered I immediately noticed what a terrible state my hair was in. It really looks like a novice practiced cutting hair on me. It is bizarre how careless this haircut was . I understand I wasn't going to receive the same exact cut I showed on my phone, but the end result was just so disappointing. Also, they played the season finale of a popular show I followed without regard if any of the patrons were waiting to see it. So not only did I get a horrible haircut, I also had this tv show's season finale spoiled for me. Maybe I am just unlucky? Most of the reviews have been positive, I wish mine was. read more

This place was recommended to me by a coworker whose hair is always on point so I decided to give it a try. As soon as I walked in I felt like I was walking into a man cave with posters and collectibles from my childhood. Normally the wait times drags on but they had movies up on a few big screen tv's, the owner offered me a drink while I wait. My son and I were attended to by Daniel who did a bang up job on my 16 year olds hair and did a killer job on my hair and my beard. I have been to many barbers who have failed to properly line up a beard but Daniel completed this with no issue and provided great dialogue at the same time. My other son was attended to by Erik who also did a great job. Shop is about 30 minutes from my house and the service was so good that I will make the drive with no hesitation for all you locals I suggest you support this business not only because they are damn good barbers but because they are veteran owned and operated. One barbershop that stands out from the rest! Definitely will get a quality cut for the right price and cannot beat the customer service that they provide. From movies , music and even an interesting conversation you will not be bored waiting for your turn . . . I took my son a few days ago and asked for a low skin fade and a trim on top. Adrian, went really high, he left it all patchy and took almost all the length off, which is not what I asked for. The cut was not blended . It seemed like he was rushing through the haircut to get to the next person. Another dude who came after got seen instead, meanwhile at least one of the barbers is chilling obviously giving his friend a cut, no urgency whatsoever. I called and made an appointment with Eric a day before for my 94 yr old father-in-Law who is currently aided by a Walker due to health issues, he currently is unable to give himself a shave which was the purpose of our visit in addition to his hair being grown out from being shut-in from the Pandemic. we arrived for our appointment and Eric was gracious and accomodating he immediately assisted my father in law to the barber Chair and got to work. They talked and laughed as they had known each other from way back. Eric took the time to give him the extra care and attention my father in law needed. When Eric was done my father in law looked 10 years younger. Eric's work was Amazing he takes care of his clients and gives them special individual attention and he is such a professional  I highly recommend Eric and the White Rabbit to all. I don't usually trust many barbers, but after mine of 9+ years left his local shop i spent time looking before i decided on White Rabbit. The guys here create a great atmosphere, with a nice clean decorated shop, the tv's rolling on movies and everyone keeping it somewhat professional at the same time. I've been coming to White Rabbit since they opened. They are a staple in the city of Downey. The owner was born and raised in the city too which gives the spot that much more of a true local business feel from the inside out. The place is kid friendly and is loaded with comic book memorabilia which gives it a unique feel. The cuts are great too. I've never walked out dissatisfied! I live out of town and have no problem making the drive for a quality cut, not to mention stopping by Uncle Henry's Deli for a sandwich before my drive back home. read more

For starters, thank you Erik! My son (almost 11 yrs old) has a really hard time getting hair cuts but Erik struck again and made him actually enjoy it. My son is on the autism spectrum, so loud noises like hair clippers are very irritating to him and he sometimes can't handle them. Erik was kind and understanding, taking his time using scissors, talking to him and making him feel comfortable. Cool spot, cool people. The reason why I'm giving it this rating is because I went in here with a reference picture and I even explained it myself and they still messed it up. I told him I wanted a taper but I wanted to keep the length I had on the top. I had finally gotten to a good length I liked after some time and he said he would do it. When he showed me the result it was not even remotely close to what I had asked they taper was super high, and then the top is super short to. The front side of the top is long and then towards the back it's not even an inch long. I'm never going back here after this. They don't respect your choice of haircut and give you whatever they want. read more
