Located in the attic of the winery is the White Rose Estate Tasting Room. There are no windows! Like i said, it's build in the attic of this establishment. It's dark and cozy. Some review called it claustrophobic but I think the dark imagery is part of a wine maker's M-O (like a cellar) Wine was good. They also serve you affogato or expresso at the end of your visit. We went wine tasting in Napa and this one put them into shame. The whole wine tasting experience was so intimate and Dago made me feel right at home. He made me feel like I was a regular at this winery. Aside from the hospitality, the pinot noir here were great. Even though, it is the only wine they serve in Portland, I enjoyed all of them. SIMPLY THE BEST, BETTER THAN ALL THE REST! We've spent 2 weeks visiting various wineries throughout Walla Walla, Portland, Dundee, and Dayton and this one was by far the best. The views from the moment you pull up are just incredible. The vineyard sits at the top of the hill at 870 feet elevation, overlooking much of the Willamette Valley. The landscaping on the property is absolutely stunning as is the view of the vineyards! The outside of the tasting room building looks like you're in the Shire from Lord of the Rings or a fancier version of Hagrid's hut from Harry Potter. It's so magical and charming! The bathrooms are located in a separate small hut. Super unique and cool! The inside is really dim and filled with low lighting. It's a super cool and relaxing vibe. They have a gorgeous 9,000 dollar espresso machine and provide free espressos to follow your tasting. We stood at the bar for our tasting with Neal. The wines were absolutely fantastic! We loved all the pinots we tried and were really impressed by how fragrant they were. The staff gave us seltzer water to cleanse our pallets between each tasting, which really enhanced the tasting for us. The staff was absolutely incredible and gave us the best experience! Neal, Dago, and another staff member (didn't catch his name - young guy, long blonde hair) were absolutely wonderful! They were beyond friendly, informative, accommodating, and hilarious. Some of the best service I've ever had! They were constantly giving us snacks at the bar, recommending places to go to for dinner, and offering us extra wines/espressos to taste. By the end of our time there, we got to munch on two different types of cookies from Trader Joe's, snickers, and Carmel M&Ms. Talk about above and beyond service! Stopped by White Rose during a day of wine tasting in the Willamette Valley. Fair warning, this place is a little pricier, both for bottles and for tasting. It was our final stop of the day, and we shared a tasting. The tasting only has 3 wines on it, but the pours were bigger- it was fine sharing. The people working were awesome. The views and landscaping are amazing. This little gem is located at the top of a hill in the Dayton Hills area. The area has beautiful rolling hills with vineyards all around you. The building itself isn't that great but the people inside make this one of the best experiences we had. ( we hit 11 different tasting rooms during our stay) Inside they offer complimentary espresso. We visited the White Rose Estate on a weekend on our day out wine tasting. This was my first time tasting here, was given a recommendation from a coworker about their wines and views. The views are breathtaking, one of my favorite views in the valley. The tasting consisted of one chardonnay and four Pinot Noirs. Our server was amazing, he provided us with an educational and fun tasting. The wine was wonderful, the Pinots were definitely on the younger side but showed great aging potential. The tasting ended with an espresso and a treat. Highly recommend going. read more

Great winery! Was served by griffin who was knowledgeable and attentive to our group and our opinions. They were able to accommodate us almost an hour early! They also had a cellar sale and I picked up a really nice 2011 White Rose vineyard Pinot, def going to hold on to that maybe another 3-5 years! I wished the tasting room had a few more candles. It was really dark in the tasting room. They also served us coffee after our tasting but I declined because I didn't want to stay up all night long. After our tasting it was pouring rain, it was pitch dark around 5:30pm, coupled with no lights along their path or on their property, getting to the parking lot was a struggle. I'll keep this short and sweet - by far the best winery in the area. Delicious Pinot Noir! My fav in the willamette valley. Perfect balance of fruit and oak. Not too light or too heavy. Chardonnay was also a top for us! Juan made us feel so at home and welcome. He gave us so many suggestions for local food and attractions. It honestly felt like he was a friend I've known for years. I usually don't review wineries because almost all of them are awesome!! But then there are a few that really stand-out and White Rose is one of them. We had four stops to make this day and by suggestion, someone recommended us stopping here. We were close, so we took the chance and visited. The tasting room is a unique styled wood building with beautiful views, only to be outdone by their wines. As most of you know, White Rose and many of the wineries in this area are known for their Pinot Noirs. According to their web-site, White Rose Pinots are New Classical. While most Oregon Pinots are earthy and not as fruit-forward as California Pinots, White Rose was definitely more in line with the California Pinots. This was the only place we visited that day that we loved everything on their tasting menu. While they are definitely not inexpensive, they are amazing and worth every cent. Such a beautiful vineyard! I love that their tasting room is completely dark for people to focus on their tasting. Their current tasting is $20 per person and of course varies by season. Everyone was super friendly and helpful giving us the best experience even when they were 5 minutes form closing. They even made us a fresh shot of espresso to finish off the tasting. So delicious! I was recommended to ask for their 2013 White Rose wine and I am sooo glad I was able to taste it. Such an amazing production. A very smooth and elegant Pinot noir highly recommended! This particular one goes for $125 a bottle but trust me you won't regret having one of these in your cellar for a special occasion. Worth every penny! read more

We had a fantastic day here with Juan, Ben, and Katie. It was our only vineyard of the day as we were making our way out to the coast, and the tasting room is at the top of a hill with stunning 360 degree views. All Pinots, but all really tasty, and you get to try some quite old ones as part of the tasting menu. The complimentary espresso is a great touch and necessary to keep you moving on with the rest of your day. Will definitely recommend to friends and stop by the next time we are in the area. Wow, and that's just the beginning. First time here visiting from Los Angeles and topped it off with a little tasting. Just from the start, entering the property you could already feel how amazing this place is going to be. The driveway up to the tasting room was beautiful. Lined grape vineyard guiding you to the top where the lot is. The property is immaculate. Beautiful landscape, manicure lawn and the sweet aroma of lavender drifting through the air. And that million dollar view of the valley. Just priceless. The tasting room is small but does pack a punch in itself. You have the main counter and a couple of smaller table throughout. Dim lit light to give you that romantic touch. Or could be for the grapes. Either way, great touch. There was three pour on the tasting menu. One for 25.00 and another pour of three for 40.00. Prices was more than other wineries I've been too but it was worth it. Our pourer, Dago was top notch. On top of his game with the knowledge of wine and expertise of what comes with it. We did both tasting and for the second tasting menu, was even given a tour of the barrel room. More knowledge of the property and wines. Even was given a sample of red that was still barreled and not bottles yet. The professional level and hospitality of everyone that works here was on top of their game. Dago, was on every level a master of what he does. The knowledge he carries and the customer service and friendliness of his vibe. Total package of excellent customer service. Finished off the tasting with fresh made coffe/espresso. There's a espresso machine onsite. The time spent here was just amazing. The views of the property was one in a million. Vines was exceptional and service was exceptional. We left with a couple of bottles later which mean we've been totally impressed. Hopefully they last back to LA. Long shot. read more

The Quick: The view, The lavender, the reserve tasting menu, and the friendly staff make the spot a five star for me. The Details: This might be one of the most beautiful vineyards we went to, but they really are all spectacular. They don't really have an eating area, but if you are small group they allow you to bring outside food and eat it on their lawn. You are seated on top of a giant hill and there are a few chairs overlooking the mountains, rows of grapes, and just so much natural beauty. The Damage: I don't remember how much the tasting was, but it was their reserve wines so it was less pours. They were absolutely amazing and worth it! read more

They are so friendly here and the view is amazing. This is one place where getting to know the folks there makes it so an experience. The tastings are generous and they specialize in Pinot noir made in the traditional way. It is a boutique winery with small output so every wine feels special. They have a nice wine club and they have tastings and dinners here. It isn't cheap but the wines are tasting really well. We love coming out here and seeing the mountains and enjoy the view. Sadly a terrible experience. They decided to cancel my reservation without notify me because they were able to make money off a larger party/event than my 10 person reservation. Very disappointing and would not recommend booking a reservation here for a special event, especially if you have out-of-state guests you're making plans with (as was my case). I still can't wrap my head around why anyone would give that kind of customer service OR why my email complaint was not responded to within 30 business hours...I will continue to follow up until I hopefully get a response and have a positive comment to share as an update to this 1 star review ): read more

We did a tasting here with Neal. It was great! You can choose inside or outside. We had a reservation. We had 4 wines to taste, and the final one on our flight here was our favorite of the whole day. I literally said "holy sh**" when I took a sip. (FYI we also went to Furioso and Sokol Blosser.) The view of the top of this hill (where the tasting room is) is awesome! You can see the rows of vines and different properties. They also provide a complimentary espresso when you're done with the wine. I would highly recommend anyone come to this winery. They don't have food and they don't have a cellar tour, to my knowledge. read more

Easily, one of the highlights of my week long trip. Located in Oregon's Dundee Hills AVA, White Rose has taken my heart. The estate is gorgeous. Overlooking Willamette Valley, the property allows for some great views- rolling hills, Mt. Hood, and acres of growing vines. The estate was also kept to a T with beautiful pathways carved amongst a large and well manicured lawn. We did a wine tasting and it was a bit on the pricier end at $25, however, well well worth it. Beautiful wines. Each member of our group finding it to be some of the best Pinot we've had in the region. Additionally, the staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. This wine estate is beautiful, perched up on a hill, with a view of the surrounding area. The tasting room is rustic with low amber colored lighting. There were 4 tasting stations and they were surprisingly busy for a Wednesday. We made reservations. There were 3 of us and we asked for two glasses. There were two tasting menus. All Pinot Noir wines. The first menu was 3 pours of the year 2017. $25 The second was 3 pours of older vintages, I believe 2013 and 2016. $40 We chose the $40 pours. They only have Pinot Noir wines. Griffin helped us and he was very knowledgeable. There is an espresso machine, which is a very nice touch. Be careful if you use the outside restroom. My sister tripped on the threshold and fell to her knees. We pointed it out to the owner. read more

Love the wine tasting room. You drive up a winding road and end up at what looks like a Swiss Chalet to taste some amazing wines. A little on the expensive side, I nevertheless bought a bottle for $80. I did see some fruit flies flying around like in the other posts, but only one. Learned a lot from the very informative servers but I loved just hanging out and looking at the bucolic scene. We are a young family and enjoy great wineries and they sold us on the membership saying that we can do picnic and bring kids. The location was beautiful, the staff was attentive and nice...unfortunately, the wine was horrible. First of all, they charged $45 for a 3 wine tasting. Two of the wines were the cheapest ones on their menu and the third was a vintage wine that was pricey but literally undrinkable. It was a Pinot that they admitted they "didn't like" the first couple years after bottling but they let it age and it improved. I beg to differ. It tasted like wine that had gone bad, like vinegar, and it had a strange orange hue. The other 2 wines were better by comparison but far from good, and the price point on all was ridiculously high. Do not waste your time or money coming here, you will regret it. By comparison, the Domaine Serene tasting had excellent wines across the board and more of them for a lower fee. read more

As part of our mother-daughter weekend, we rode horses up to White Rose Estate through Equestrian Wine Tours. The tasting room (which is described as "hobbit-like") is intimate, the views of the Dundee Hills and the Willamette Valley are spectacular, and the wines are exceptional. The best part of the experience was meeting Shyla. She was extremely knowledgeable about the wines and taught us a lot. She also made the tasting great fun!
