I was told that I needed to have a tooth pulled get bone replacement graft, a post and a new tooth. I thought that when they verbally told me and printed out the estimate it was low. $569.00. They verbally told me that was the cost. They didn't tell me that didn't include the whole process. Today when I went to get my tooth pulled I noticed that the estimate didn't include the post and the replacement tooth. For that part it was $4,500.00. I left very disappointed. It's been 10 months since our initial review. Since then, we've had a lot of procedures completed between me and my wife. (Crown, deep cleaning, braces, etc). The office staff are informative and willing to spend time explaining procedures and costs. They make sure the care is consistent by scheduling you with the same dentist for each visit. Appoint was with Dr. Shawn, whom I knew socially, saw some newbie from an unknow dental school, took me off an antibiotic to put me on a lesser one and refused to use methods approved by DentiCal to fix a broken tooth. Two days later I began a 5 day stay in West Hills Hospital being treated for cellulitis, hooked up to an IV drip of strong clindamycin, which destroyed my gut biome. Should've sued, but just confronted and got a weak apology. For future reference to remind your "dentists", amoxicillin is the preferred antibiotic in dentistry, until the infection has been there too long, and augmentin IS amoxicillin PLUS clavulanate potassium, so it's just a stronger antibiotic for dental infections. I want to share my experience so others can protect themselves--this was one of the worst dental appointments I've ever had, and I am pursuing accountability. Here are the facts from my experience: A front desk staff member improperly signed off on my medication. On top of that, the clinic would never actually call me or provide the medication unless I followed up myself, which is completely unacceptable. My referral was delayed for 3 months. They repeatedly told me it was "waiting on Denti-Cal," but the reality was White Smile never even submitted it :( This caused months of unnecessary waiting and stress. On a recorded call, they even lied to Denti-Cal about my referral, which shows this was not just a mistake but an intentional misrepresentation. I was charged $550 for a "root canal cleaning" procedure that never happened. Only after I complained was the money refunded. During one appointment, I was given five anesthesia shots for no reason. Why? Because the doctor failed to review my records before instructing staff to medicate me. He arrived late, rushed, and if he had taken even a moment to thoroughly check my file, he would have seen my case was too complex to treat there in the first place. Instead, I was left medicated, unable to move, and sent home without treatment, instructions, or follow-up. The staff also failed to review my X-ray properly, which meant they missed the complexity of my case. If they had simply checked the records, they could have avoided putting me through this entirely. Because of these issues, I believe this office is abusing the Denti-Cal system and mistreating patients. Please be extra cautious--it felt to me like a coordinated pattern of overcharging and misleading. When I tried to get someone to take responsibility, I contacted Rachel Valdez, an officer at the clinic, explained everything, and asked for accountability. I was simply ignored--no reply, no resolution. What I'm doing now: Filing criminal charges via the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office / Superior Court for what I believe are fraudulent and negligent practices. Filing complaints with the Dental Board of California (the state agency that regulates dentists). Contacting the Denti-Cal program to report misuse. I strongly advise anyone who has been misled by this clinic to contact these agencies and share your story. I am also open to helping others navigate the process. I hope my story helps protect other patients from going through what I experienced. read more

Came here three times but not coming back. Female dentist was really nice and spent a lot more time with me than any other dentist I've been to so I have to call that out. The office is OK. Some modern elements in each room. The waiting room is a bit dated. My first time here, the office manager tried to sell me a major procedure that wasn't covered by insurance and I can't afford. She wanted it done right away like it was urgent, which seemed like a hard sell. IIt was never mentioned again, which is my preference but how urgent was it and why didn't they talk about it if it was so important. (They had another office manager for my last visit.) Anyway, my last time, I waited 30 minutes and they hadn't done anything. Then, they wanted to do X-rays and cleaning but I had places to be and thought it would be the usual 20-30 minute long appointment. So I left without anything. They speak Spanish to each other so make sure you're OK with that. The last hygienist I had kept calling me "mister" instead of my name which wasn't very personal. I guess I've been spoiled through the years at various dentists who remembered me. You could do worse than this place. read more

Very disappointing. I had been a patient form 2014 - 2019, but then I had a bad experience with an hygenist, and the management didn't seem to care, so I left. I wound up going back in 2024 after I found out that they had fired that hygenist, but after two more bad visits due to terrible front office handling of my appointments, I will no longer go there. I don't know how they handle their other services but don't go to them for wisdom teeth extractions. They were able to get an appointment for me pretty quickly, which was nice, but when I proceeded to ask follow-up questions, the receptionist (Julie) was very hostile in answering and said they would explain everything when I get there. When I did, they very quickly had me sign a few documents and led me into the operating room, and me being the patient, nervous, with it being my first time and having to be put me under anesthesia, I had completely forgotten to ask them for my post-op care instructions. When I was done, I was heavily still drugged and unable to retain much information. I don't even remember but they gave me a bag filled with gauze and written instructions on post-op care. They just handed that to me and sent me home, and 7 hours later, I finally feel okay enough to write this and go over the care instructions that weren't thorough enough, as I still have questions. I can't call them to ask now because it's too late and their office is closed. I don't know if it's okay for me to eat, along with so many other questions. I don't have a problem with the doctor and the people that assisted the operation. The rest of them, that were in charge of setting appointments and making the sure the process would run smoothly for the patient failed miserably. From the instructions and care they failed to give the patient -- give me --with an operation as big as putting someone under anesthesia, to the minor things like being very hostile and mean over the phone when simply asking questions around setting up the appointment. Do yourself a favor, avoid the emotional and physical pain you'll have to go through to get your wisdom teeth removed here. Go somewhere else. read more

My insurance company is completely baffled because according to them, I was not supposed to be charged anything. With all due honesty, I had my first appointment here and waited a long time to be seen, which I didn't mind as it was my first visit. The X-ray technician was great, and the front desk guy was friendly. However, after taking my X-rays, they tried to upsell me, quoting $2000 for work that would cost about $500 elsewhere. When I declined and asked for my X-rays, they refused unless I paid an additional $75. Despite not having any work done besides the X-rays, they charged my insurance $568 for an "oral evaluation," "office visit observation," and "X-rays." These people are crooks. Be cautious; they are only interested in making money off you. Please do your research and go elsewhere. Don't let them take advantage of those who don't know better. read more

I came back to this office anticipating great dental work by great dentists. Dr Sean and Dr Mahsa... Too bad you rely on inconsiderate and horrible individuals to run your show. It's amazing that most of people's complaints either are directed at bad staff or long wait times not the dentists. Instead I was met by a "Regional Manager" Rachel who seemed annoyed by me from the very beginning especially when I mentioned the previous office manager Maria whom I had a disconnect with 2 yrs ago. Thus resulting in my "Dismissal" from this practice at that time. Summer the current office manager seems like she doesn't know how copays work. Wanted to charge me $350 for code D3320 when it's $300. Seems like actually charging people the correct amounts is really hard to do, even though there's a benefit booklet at their disposal. Interesting how the Dentists only provide a clinical assessment yet the office staff are there ripping people off. And yet per Rachel, Dr Sean doesn't deal with any costs related to his practice surely not when it comes to providing a discount on a procedure that's out of pocket. As if he doesn't pay the bills, sign the checks and it has nothing to do with the owner. It sucks I didn't want to leave this complaint but Rachel you deserve it. Funny how they said Smile Generation, Pacific Dental Services is a monopoly ripping people off, yet a small family owned practice like this one is doing the same. SHAMEFUL Ps Attached are pics of my plan and how they overcharge people. Oh and whether my plan is CAA54 OR CAB54 my copays are all the same. And on top of that my premium was more than before so not exactly sure why Rachel made this a big deal unless theyre being paid less under theyre contractual aggrement with Delta Dental which I doubt. I made an appointment for a root canal after being referred by a different dentist. The appointment was two weeks in the future. Not once did the person mention they needed to get an insurance opinion and that I would only be coming in for a consultation. Even though I mentioned the referring dentist when I made the appointment, they did not contact them to get the X-rays already taken. When I confirmed my appointment today, after two weeks of pain, assuming it would be resolved, I'm told the appointment is a consultation and that X-rays need to be taken. There was absolutely no remorse on the part of the representative. Apparently I raised my voice, upset by the fact that the pain was not getting resolved and the representative got upset at the level of my voice. My pain, inconvenience, and their lack of ability to be thorough in setting appointments and informing patients was not important, just the sensitivity to volume of the representative. It goes without saying, avoid this place like the plague! read more

DO NOT GO HERE! HORRIBLE PLACE!! I had a consultation for a root canal retreatment and they took a ton of X-rays and then their dentist confirmed that they can do the retreatment with their specialist (endodentist) in my next visit. After my insurance approval went through (about 2 weeks), I communicated with this office and I was told that the next available appointment for their endodentist was in 2 months!! TWO MONTHS!! (that is over 2.5 months including the consult!) As the appointment date approached, nobody from their office phoned nor texted me. I read in other Yelp reviews that this office drops appointments!! Hence, I decided myself to call into their office the day before my scheduled appointment and guess what?? I was NOT on the schedule after 2.5 months of waiting!! Finally, I was seen by their endodontist (after getting back on the schedule) for my root canal retreatment and he says that he can't do the work because this office doesn't have the proper equipment to do the work!!! WHAT!!!?? And get this, he tells me to go to another endodentist's office which does have the right equipment !! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!?? Why wasn't I told this in my consultation !!!???!! 3 months later and I am back at square 1 and I still have to get this retreatment taken care of, and DEFINITELY not here!! What a circus this office is and I highly DO NOT recommend anyone to ever go there!! I am not the only one who says they drop appointments on customers! (read other reviews!!) And I waited a long time to get NOTHING from them (same as some other reviews)!! How do they stay in business??? About 3 months of this nonsense and a total waste of my time and effort!! STAY AWAY!! When I called in severe pain, on several occassions i was either put on hold for a long period or told ill get a call back, which i never did , Dulce at the front desk was incredibly rude and dismissive, showing zero empathy for my condition. I wish I could give negative stars. This place has been responsible for me loosing my teeth. They are greedy and don't put the people first. You can see it just from their attitude. But the work? I went in I needed a root canal. I come to my appointment and they forget who I am. And tell me to go and come back in two hours. Imagine how unprofessional. This is very common there. I say many people disappointed and just leave. They ended up brining in a person who wasn't an endodontist. An elderly doctor who shook as she did he procedure. She broke the file in the canal and my nightmare started. They left me with a broken file in my tooth and no doctor wanted to touch it anywhere else because it's almost impossible to take it out. I was in pain for a year until I finally went somewhere else and had to have the tooth pulled because they wouldn't and couldn't do anything about it. If you go here for anything other than a filling. You are taking a HUGE risk. Avoid this place if you want to be sane. They will mentally destroy you and have you cussing out our system. Went there for a new client intake where I wanted to get a deep cleaning. I recently moved to the area. After getting my x-rays done (the tech was great) I was shown to an internal waiting room waiting for the results. After waiting a rude female middle eastern dentist came in and was very passive aggressive in asking "when was the last time you've been to a dentist" mind you it hasn't even been that long and my teeth are in great shape and she said "I can tell" . Excuse me? I did not feel safe as a woman of color in that establishment. BEWARE ! Upon doing more research they have a reputation for doing shady business. I have been to several dentists and I have never received the kind of attention and care that I received from Dr Shawn and his staff. The office is immaculately clean and they even have a massage chair in the waiting room (just saying, it's a slight bonus). The staff goes above and beyond to explain everything and you can tell right off the bat they're not one of the other offices trying to scam their insurance companies. I ultimately hate the sound of machinery in my mouth but Dr Shawn fixed a yellow stain and a chipped tooth without making me feel insecure at all. Disclaimer: I am writing this as a person who hated going to the dentist, so I've avoided one for 8 years!!! After an eternity of missing out on essential dental work, I finally had one of my cavities cause a huge hole in one of my teeth. I called and was graciously booked almost immediately to see Dr. Mahsa. She was so wonderful, caring, gentle and empathetic for my nervousness. She proceeded to painlessly fix my dental issues and stated I needed an obvious root canal. I then had my next appointment with Dr. Shawn and he was absolutely amazing! He took his time, was careful to make sure I wasn't going through much pain and was fully numb, speaking in such a kind manner and truly ensuring my 8 year hiatus from all things dental would never be repeated.
