The market mainly caters for local residents and the office population in the immediate Victoria Street area, selling food, groceries, books and clothing, but is becoming increasingly popular with tourists. My wife and I visited the Strutton Ground Market while we were on a trip to London in April 2019. We had just visited Westminster Abbey down the street, and my wife told me about a great street market that we could stop at for lunch. She had studied abroad in London and knew her way around the city pretty well. There were so many delicious-sounding food vendors that we had trouble picking. I decided to order from a Middle Eastern food vender called Falafel Zaki Zaki. I ordered "The Whole Shebang Wrap" which was stuffed with falafel, eggplant (aubergine), salad, hot peppers, pickled vegetables and white sauce. Just as I was about to take a picture of the delicious wrap, the vendor posed for the shot and had me cracking up. That wrap was so good!! My wife found a cool Indian street food vendor and ordered some Samosas and a side of Chicken with Rice. We ended up sharing all of our food and were very happy with our choices. We'll definitely stop again on our next trip to London.

If not for its convenience to both my flat and our former office, I'd probably never visit. Especially with the spurt of new eateries that have opened (and continue to open) in the Farringdon/Clerkenwell area, there's really no reason to have 'just okay' takeaway when you can have 'quite nice' grub instead.

There is also a stand held by a French lady where you can find fancy necklaces, earings or other accessories for less than £7. It is my favourite stand. Every colour, every style. If she does not have what you want, you just ask and she gets it for you! There is also one guy who sells Estee Lauder make-up for £5-7 and branded perfumes for £15. As Christmas is approaching, they will display nice evening dresses very soon! (Just a tip for you girls ;-)) The stand at the end of the market is where you can buy Gucci, Chanel or Guess bags and wallets. so, shop till you drop without making a huge dent in the bank.

It's a pleasant change from the stress of the over-subscribed Borough market - full of sample tasting oiks who just crowd the place without buying anything that isn't ready made for fear that they may challenge their plastc world view by actually cooking something with taste and flavour . . . . If you like good quality food, want to know more about where real good food comes from, how and why it is the way it is and how to cook using real ingredients then go to your local farmer's market. The market area is mostly covered by tall ceiling structures, giving a small reprieve if it's raining, but it has an open air feel. There are also different places to get a cup of hot mulled wine or hot chocolate and you'll find the long lines for Ben's cookies nearby! If you are coming to Covent Garden via the tube, know that this tube station is a wreck! It's incredibly busy and unless you want to walk up an endless flight of stairs, you'll need to wait and pack in like sardines into the elevator.
